Hey all! I am linking up with Fairytales and Fitness

Today I'm going to tell you 5 things I did on Monday night when I couldn't sleep...

I did not get a single minute of sleep on Monday. Here is my Garmin data to prove it:

It was my own fault. I decided not to take my trazodone because I was so tired and figured I didn't need it. It turns out that I did need it!

I laid in bed from 8:30-12:30, then I finally got up. I went back to bed at 3:45 and laid there until 5:15. Then it was time to hit the gym...

Here is what I did in the middle of the night when I couldn't sleep:

1. Repainted my nails.

2. Did the wash.

3. Practiced Spanish.

4. Watched the news.

5. Hated my life.

Work was terrible the next day. I was delusional. I would have liked to take off but our district has a hard time getting subs, so if I am out, then music is cancelled for the day and 7 of my colleagues miss their plan period.

I slept well on Tuesday night but I was still very tired on Wednesday. Finally after one more night of sleep (even though it wasn't great sleep) I started to feel back to normal.

From now on I will take my trazodone EVERY NIGHT no matter what. Let's hope a night like Monday never happens again!

HAPPY FRIDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Did you ever just NOT sleep?

  1. Ugg this makes me so sad to hear you did not sleep. I've been waking up tired every day this week and I AM getting a good nights sleep!
We have trouble getting subs in our district too.

  3. Usually I get at least some sleep. Often I wake up far earlier than I want to. I had one night of horrible sleep this week -- I did get some, but not a whole lot.

Now, for a funny story, I have Alexa set up to play music and shut off after 30 minutes when I go to sleep. Unfortunately, I gave her the wrong command last night so she was just playing music all night & I'm a very sensitive sleeper.

After I got up to go to the bathroom I laid there a long time because I didn't want to wake my husband up, but eventually I couldn't take it and I told her to stop! And then I got back to sleep. :)

Funny how I can fall asleep (within literal minutes) with the music playing but if I wake up it'll keep me awake!

    1. That is so interesting! TO stop it, you just have to say Alexa, stop the music, right? Why didn't you just do that!?

  4. Meg, I am sorry to tell you this, but I encountered more difficulty sleeping when I went through menopause than any other time of my life. Not sleeping is awful - I know! So glad to hear that you kind of got caught up. It was kind of you to go in to school when you were not 100%. Take care of yourself. I hope you can chill this weekend!

    1. Well maybe all this is preparing me for menopause! Or maybe this will keep happening until menopause and then I will just hate my life.

  8. Ugh, sleepless nights stink but nice job at least getting the wash done! My only accomplishments on sleepless nights are Netflix binge watching. Hope you're feeling back to normal now!

    1. I think when we can't sleep we should just do whatever we want to get us through, wash, Netflix, or somewhere in between!

    1. We have had so many problems at our school getting subs, so them missing a plan wouldn't be an anomaly.. it happens a lot. :( I just know we are all so stressed at school and I don't want to put more stress on people!

  11. Ouch! that really sucks that you didn't sleep.

Last Tuesday night, my brain decided to keep me awake remembering every single mistake I made in my life in the last year... and it gave me so much anxiety!
