I HAVE TO REMEMBER TO TAKE MY TRAZODONE!!!

Early Wednesday morning, at 3:23, Jelly woke me up with his "I'm hungry" antics... which means he scratched my bedroom door relentlessly until I got up to feed him.

When I got back in bed, I felt hot, restless, and wide awake. "Why oh why???" I wondered to myself. Then I knew why. I forgot to take my trazodone before bed.

This is the second time this week I forgot to take my trazodone and the same thing happened... 4 hours of sleep and then wide awake.

It was a bummer because we had a 2 hour delay on Wednesday morning, so I could have slept until 7:30! What a waste of a delay...

I need to get my act together at night and remember to take my pill. Any tips on how I can remember to do this? Other than just REMEMBER? I keep it right in my bedside table...

  1. I dont know if this will help you "remember", but can you get one of those pill cases that has the days of the week on it? That's what I have for Baylee. There are two slots for each day. One for AM and one for PM. This has been a lifesaver on those days I wonder if i remembered to give her her pills. I just look into the case to see if they are missing. I fill it at the beginning of each week.

    1. That must be so helpful! Paul does that with his meds because he takes a shit ton.

  2. You could set an alarm on your phone. Back in the day when I first started taking birth control pills I used to have an alarm on my phone that reminded me to take it until I formed the habit!

    1. That sounds like a good idea but the problem is I don't go to bed at the same time every night so I wouldn't know when to set my alarm.

  3. I echo the phone alarm thing. I had to do that with my allergy medicine until it became a habit.

  4. At bedtime, when I'm brushing my teeth, I set out my vitamins that I should take the next day. Of course, I take my vitamins at any point during the day, but when I see them sitting on my counter still I know I need to take them that day. After I take them I put them back in the drawer until bed time. I hope you can get in the habit so you get peaceful sleep every night!!

    1. That sounds like a good plan. Or I could even freaking just put my little pill case on my pillow. I like the alarm idea but I don't go to bed at the same time every night. If I saw my pills on my pillow, I'd have to remember to take them.

  5. If they are on your bedside table, it seems like you would see them. You could put a note on your pillow "take your damn pills". I am so in the habit of taking my morning pills with breakfast and my night pills with dinner. I don't even think about it anymore. I also have to take 2 pills in the middle of the night! It's quite the ordeal.

    1. 2 in the middle of the night? Do you set an alarm? How do you fall back asleep?

  6. I also recommend the phone alarm! Since you don't go to bed at the same time every night, you could set it to go off at say 7pm, then use the snooze option to just keep snoozing it until you do go to bed, or combine the phone alarm with your idea to put the pills on your pillow - when the alarm goes off, put the pills on your pillow so that they're there when you're ready to go to bed.
