Paul and I Ate A Cat Treat...

That's right. We both tried a cat treat. I never ate cat or dog food before. Don't ask me why we decided to do this... I think it was my idea. Our kitties go NUTS for their treats! They get special dental treats and lean treats. They love the lean treats the best even though they smell so bad. Of course Paul tried the less stinky treat and I tried the gross one.

Oh well, here's the two minute Vlog. But remember, if you watch this, it's two minutes of your life you'll never get back.

After this all went down, I brushed my teeth about 5 times and ate two Tums. The lean treat was the absolute most terrible thing I have ever eaten.
Have you ever tried cat or dog food?
What's the absolute most terrible thing you have ever eaten?

  1. lololololol I can't wait to watch this video tonight! I have never tried a cat treat, but when I was a kid I did try a piece of my cat's dry food. I can imagine how awful the treat was because I will never, ever forget the explosion of absolutely disgusting flavor that burst in my mouth when I crunched down on the kibble!!!! That is probably up there as the single most awful thing I've ever eaten!

  2. Ugh...yes, I have tried dog treats. My sister and I actually ate a "significant" amount of them one time. I think that was my fill for life cuz I can honestly say, I have had zero desire to have another!

    1. I will say, however, all the treats we have ever given our pets are DRY which makes a huge difference. I mean, still super dumb we ate them but I had to throw that in there.

    2. Why did you and your sister eat so much of them?? How old were you? :)

    3. Who knows...we were like 5 and 7 and totally bored on a road trip and my mom had a bucket w/ our dog's food. I am sure we kept daring each other and next thing you know we had eaten probably 1/2 cup each. Terrible!

  3. Actually, yes! We buy these organic pumpkin treats for Baylee and because of her strict diet I asked the pet store owner (we go to a boutique store, not petssmart or any big box store) what they were made out of. She rattled off the ingredients and said it's nothing a human couldn't eat. Scott and I both actually tried one. I dipped one in my Chai tea! It wasn't bad but wasn't anything I'd want to eat. It was just sort of bland. I wonder why she likes then so much!

    1. What I ate was not bland. It was absolutely horrible. But I think cat food/treats in general are just way more disgusting than dog stuff. Or maybe I don't know what I'm talking about!

I'm glad to hear others tried cat/dog food. I'm surprised I made it 34 years without doing that!

  4. OmG! that was hilarious! I'm showing that to my son! he will love it!

I never tried my dog's food. But a few years ago, my son was only eating fruit bars, he is a picky eater, and in my mind, I thought "a fruit bar is not that bad, there is fruit in it.. and oatmeal and stuff". He was eating like 3 of them a day, to the point of refusing real food. So one night, I ate one to see what they were like and I was horrified at myself. They were dry, bland and overly sweet... I haven't bought them again! I also have a rule to myself that anything my son eats, I have to try it too.

    1. Ooh I hope your son thinks it's funny! I purposefully did not swear in the video. :)

Did your son like the fruit bars?

    2. He used to love the Wegmans brand fruit bars, but they changed the recipe and now he is allergic to them. He gets a rash from them.

  5. I've never been tempted to try any of Allie's treats or food. She likes them, and that's what matters. She doesn't go crazy for them, but they keep her teeth brushed.

    1. Do you throw them for her to chase? Our cats loooooove chasing treats!

  6. I can't believe you've never eaten a cat treat before! I've always had a cat in my life for as far back as I can remember so of course I was curious and tried them when I was a kid.

  7. OMG! I needed a good laugh! As a toddler I ate cat food (along with putting it in the water dish and watching it expand). I to this day remember the taste... As an adult I tried a Milk Bone... cannot remember if I swallowed it or not!

    1. What did the milk bone taste like?? I ate sand as a toddler, so my mom says. :)

  8. This video is amazing! I've never eaten a pet treat but I did lick my finger after touching the bitter spray that is supposed to keep animals from chewing on things. That was AWFUL!

    1. Ew! I bet the bitter spray is just terrible because... well, it would have to taste worse than their food for them to not like it, right?

  9. My siblings and I all tried dog treats as kids. I remember them tasting dry and flavorless. But recently my dad tasted WET dog food and took a video and it was the GROSSEST thing I have ever seen. He said he just wanted to try what Charlie eats. I guess people don't outgrow curiosity!
