OMG THIS WEEK IS NUTS!

Guys, this week is BANANAS!

Work is BANANAS!

I wish I could tell you all the reasons why school has been nuts, but I can't. However, I can tell you some fun/funny stories about work this week...

1. A bug landed on my Smartboard during 2nd grade music class. Then it started moving around and it closed the document I had open because it walked onto the "x" button. The students and I laughed so hard.

2. A kindergarten student was coughing so I told her to get a drink. Instead of using the water fountain at my sink, she started to fill my coffee mug with water. "No honey, use the water fountain!" I told her.

3. For Read Across America Week, I am rapping Green Eggs and Ham with some of the classes. My rap name is "Big Mamma M".

4. When every student in a third grade class remembers to bring their recorder to music, I do a cartwheel. One class is up to four times in a row! I am getting really good at cartwheels.

5. GOOD NEWS!!!!!!!!!! In my music classroom, I have 13 ukuleles, so most students have to share them. Well, my principal ordered me 10 MORE!!! Now no one will have to share a ukulele! I work at a great school.
Tell me something funny that recently happened to you at work!

  1. Sorry about how crazy your week has been but it sounds like you have a really supportive principal! That is so funny about the little girl trying to drink from your coffee mug too.

    1. Oh and it was my "The View" coffee mug. Huge, yellow, with Rosie, Joy, Elisabeth, and Barbara Walters on it. Yes our principal is great!

  2. I've never seen any of my teachers ever do a cartwheel! Not even the gym teacher! Your students will remember that for sure!
We've been having a lot of stuff happen here but of a more serious nature, but our principals have been great about it all.

  3. This week has been crazy, but it's been the weather. We got enough snow Monday night that the university was delayed. I know CU doesn't close often, but a delay is still a big deal.

  4. Hah! The student who tried to fill your coffee mug is too funny :). I totally get where she's coming from. Water fountains are gross. I've never found one that I liked.

The other day I was on a conference call with speaker phone on. Cecil was sleeping partially on my phone and I guess his fur was blocking the receptor because everyone was like "you sound muffled, do you have a bad connection?" I didn't want to wake Cecil up by moving the phone, so I said "sorry, let me hang up and call back in." I tapped the end call button and called in via my computer instead so he could keep sleeping :D Anyone would do the same. He looked so precious fast asleep!

  5. I can just imagine you doing cartwheels in class! That's so funny/great! That's surprising a bug closed out the document on your smartboard. I remember when our grade school first got smartboards, when my kids were in 1st or 2nd grade. We were all amazed at the new technology! They are pretty cool.

    1. At first I didn't want a smartboard but now I don't know what I would do without it! I just got a new one (not actually new but never used) so it is VERY touchy now. The bug would have never been able to close a doc on my old smartboard.
