Friday 5

Today's Friday 5 theme is "Favorites". Time to talk about some of my favorite things from this past week!

1. Favorite Moment: Going home on Wednesday afternoon with absolutely nothing to do! Paul was with his family and Wednesday is not a piano lesson night which means... I had the night off from being a teacher and a wife! Yay! (Of course I love hanging out with Paul, but sometimes it is fun to be alone too.)

Obviously, I know how to live it up.
Wine. Cheese. Tortilla Pringles.

2. Favorite Meal: This yummy Mexican inspired plate of randomness. Chicken, celery, tomatoes, cheese, and homemade guacamole! I used it to dip corn chips.

My horrible photos are just one reason I will never be a food blogger!

3. Favorite Puzzle: I've kind of been "off" with my puzzles lately. I actually quit one on Monday! So now I am doing this weird one that is just different colored chairs. It's wasn't super fun, but it was a mindless activity that helped me unwind, so it served it's purpose.

4. Favorite Workout: My 8 miler on Tuesday morning. Sometimes 8 miles during the week seems daunting, but I was actually excited to tackle this one. I had no pace goal and my MP3 player was filled with some good podcasts. Just a very chill "good for the soul" kind of run.

5. Favorite Kitty Picture: Here is my king on his throne!

Tell me one of your "Favorites" from this week!

Today, I'm linking up with the DC girls for Friday 5!

  1. I'm just happy that it's Friday! I had a conference presentation go really well, so that's probably my favorite part of the week.

  2. My favorite day of the week was yesterday--started with a good run and then we spent the entire day in Denver watching the NCAA tournament. I love watching college basketball and the energy and excitement of the crowd is awesome. Plus, I just kept thinking how nice it was not to be working. I told Rick about 5 times how much fun I was having!

    2. No, working today but since I work from home and it's snowing like crazy I had planned a rest day so I am still lingering in bed, drinking coffee before the work day begins :) Excited for the weekend. We go down to Denver again on Saturday for 2 more games!!

  3. I'm with ya with just hanging out alone. Sometimes it's nice to have a glass a wine and chill. Who cares if you are drinking alone. That plate of randomness looks tasty. I love Mexican food.L

  6. My favorite moment this week was in class. Let's just say slam poems are the best project we do all year, and it's really rewarding to hear my students share their thoughts and feelings so honestly and freely!

    1. I had to google what Slam Poems are. I'm sure that is a lot of fun! It says they get judged on their poem?

  7. I totally understand your delight in having nothing to do for a night! That pic of you on the couch shouts pure joy. ;)
My favorite this week was when my freaking fever finally broke. Ugh. Now if I could just lose this hacking cough.

    1. I wish I could sit on the couch like that every night! It's pretty bad when I just want to make it through the day so I can do NOTHING.

  8. I think having a nothing to do night sounds amazing. I really don't get to experience those anymore. But at least I get to enjoy wine. My favorite thing this week was finally finishing all of my grading. Finals week always kills me - especially when trying to take care of a 6 month old. Yay for Spring Break!

  10. Not a lot of favorites this week. It's been a tough one for me. Coming home from Florida was hard. Still being injured is hard. Drowning my phone put me over the top. But a visit from my little cancer patient, who is done with chemo, was my favorite. Lots of hugs. Her hair is growing back. Kind of put my whole week into perspective.

    1. Ah, it's the moments like that that can definitely put things into perspective! Whenever I am feeling crummy I think of people who are REALLY having it tough. I mean, it doesn't invalidate our pain or our sad feelings, but it helps to put things into perspective.

  11. I'm so with you: I love having nothing to do especially after work. My favourite thing about this week would have to be not having to go to work. :-)

  12. I also appreciate a night home alone. I love being married but enjoy my personal space as well. :)

  13. I am so excited to tell you that my mom just started doing puzzles! haha

My favorites from this past week was definitely getting to see Finn Balor two nights in a row. I'll probably share this in a blog post, but I always tweet Finn like I am a 12 year old fan girl (LOL). Well, after Thursday night's match, he immediately came over to me and said "thanks for coming out" and gave me a sort of high five. I say sort of because my mind and body were frozen and I'm pretty sure I just stood there staring while he tapped my hand that was barely open for a high five! haha

    1. Cool! What got your momma into puzzles?

WOW how did he know to come over to you?????

    2. Someone gave her one along with an adult coloring book and now she's really into both! Haha

Finn saw my sign! I guess that's what made him come over :). I had tweeted him earlier in the day a pic of the sign and he Liked the tweet so I guess he was looking for it/me haha.
