Weekly Workouts

I did a lot of treadmill running this week and it was actually GREAT! Treadmill makes my back and hip flexors stay in check.

Saturday- 5 treadmill miles.  It was a rainy day and I thought maybe the soft treadmill would keep the niggles in my leg at bay. It did! It takes me awhile to get "into" a treadmill run, but once I do, I keep upping the speed. My niggles = left hip flexor and high hammy.

Sunday- 5 treadmill miles. Again, it took me about 2.5 miles to feel good and then I really started to increase the speed. I ended with 7 min miles and I felt like I could go forever! I felt the niggles a little toward the end.

Monday- 5 treadmill miles. My leg was feeling it a tiny bit but it didn't get worse so I just kept going. It felt good to run FAST!

Tuesday- Lifting at Planet Fitness. Of course I wanted to run on the treadmill again, but I was due to lift. I don't want to lose my muscles!

Wednesday- 6 treadmill miles. When it was time to bump up the speed (around mile three) I blasted music from The Book of Mormon. "I Am A Latter Day Saint" is a great song to run 7 minute miles to!

Thursday- Lifting at Planet Fitness. Nothing crazy.

Friday- 5 treadmill miles. Finished strong for the week!

How were your workouts this week?

  1. I made it to the gym once... yeah me! I did a lot of treadmill running too, and was not sad about it :) I hope to get to the gym tomorrow, and my "2 a week" plan will be complete. Hope you have a great Saturday!

    1. I'm glad you enjoyed your treadmill running. :) It was cold this week- except for Friday!

  2. Yay, Megan -- funny how you feel better running on a treadmill. I hate how running on the treadmill makes my body feel. I had a procedure done on my tendons so this week ended up with 17 miles of walking and about a mile of swimming. I did weights and yoga but stayed off my rowing machine so as not to irritate the leg. Can't wait to row again next week!

    1. I hope your procedure went well! Do you think you will walk more once you can walk Annie or do you think you will incorporate her into the walks you already do?

    2. I am walking instead of running this winter so hopefully by the summer I can do my short runs followed up with cool down walks with Annie of a mile or so! That is what Macy and I did and it worked great!

  3. I pretty much took a running hiatus this month but on Friday when it was 68 degrees I got in a glorious 4 mile run!
