Weekly Workouts

Omg... this week can be summed up like this:

1. Shitty sleep.
2. Got sick.
3. Kids owned me.

BUT IT IS WINTER BREAK AND I DON'T WORK UNTIL JANUARY 2ND!!! LET THE PUZZLES AND SLEEPING COMMENCE!!!

Saturday- Lifting chest @ home. I did 200 push ups, thus making myself sore for the next two days.

Sunday- 6 miles at Hampden Park. I dropped Paul off at Planet Fitness. I ran to the park and ran loops until I hit 6 miles. While I was waiting for Paul to get done lifting, I ran into Good Will to see if they had any puzzles. I saw a student so I turned around and got the heck out of there! (I looked like crap.)

Monday- 6 neighborhood miles. It was so warm that I didn't even need gloves! I felt great during this run, probably since I woke up at 2am and never fell back asleep...

Tuesday- 6 neighborhood miles. It was another warm morning! I took a different route than normal and got to see some Christmas lights I hadn't seen yet. I am feeling good on my runs this week. Even though I woke up at 3am...

Wednesday- 6 MORE MILES. No wonder I am so slow. I just keep doing the same run every day! Woke up at 4am...

Thursday- 6 miles. This was my 5th day of running in a row but it felt good. I was supposed to lift but I was so pissed about the Survivor Finale the night before and needed to blow off some steam!

Friday- Lifting at home. I got really sick on Thursday and felt like crap again today. I lifted back but *really* light. It was barely a workout.

Did you watch the Survivor finale? Want to bitch about it with me?

  1. I didn't watch Survivor... haven't watched this season. The only thing Survivor related I know about right now is that Ruth Marie did an Ironman Triathlon (only bc I know her).

I've never thought about how awkward it might be to see your students out in public after say a workout or something! I always go to stores and things after working out and don't think much of it, but I guess it would be weird as a teacher. A lot of my teacher friends teach at schools that are 20ish minutes from their house, maybe that's a good thing they don't see students out as much.

Feel better soon! Sickness sucks especially during the holidays.

    1. I remember you told me you know Ruth Marie. She got voted off pre merge but she got sort of screwed because after a tribe swap, she was on a team with some burly guys and she ended up not being able to perform as well as them in challenges- DESPITE the fact that she is clearly very fit. Sometimes I wonder how well I would do at challenges. These days they tend to have more challenges that require balance, puzzles, and endurance. (Like standing still endurance, not running endurance.) The puzzles they do seem HARD. I mean, you know I love to do puzzles but these puzzles are different.

I don't see students out a lot because I don't live in the district. And normally I wouldn't care but on that day I just looked extra shitty. You know how sometimes after a workout you just look sweaty and then sometimes you look like death? I looked like death!

You used to watch Survivor, right? Why did you stop? For some reason I think it would be a show you would enjoy, but maybe that's because I remember you saying you used to watch it? I get very excited when someone tells me they are a Survivor fan...

  2. Wow girl you really deserve some sleep over break! Do you think you will still get up that early when you don't have to go to work?

I really wanted to get a Christmas puzzle this year but didnt.

    1. I'm not sure! I have been super sick and took sleeping pills these past two nights otherwise my nose blowing would've kept me up. Today I didn't have to set my alarm and I woke up at 11:30. I went to bed at 9pm so that is some dang good sleep!

If you want to borrow my Christmas puzzle you can! It is really fun to do. I have done it twice now (last Christmas and this Christmas) so if you want it, I'll give it to you when I see you again. I don't care if you keep it for awhile. I don't see myself doing it again for maybe 2 years.

  3. I had such a similar week. I barely slept last week and by last night I was dead tired. Even on the nights where I could have gotten decent sleep I would wake up in the middle of the night wide awake. So glad to have the rest of the year off to relax and catch up on sleep!

  4. Wow, so many miles! Great job. Sorry you are sick...that is a bummer. I definitely biked more this week--30 total on my spin bike. We got snow and I just had a procedure done on my back on Tuesday so I wanted to be careful not to slip on ice. I finished out with 4.2 miles today so that felt GREAT (even though it was only 16 degrees out)

    1. When you ride your spin bike, do you do a specific workout? Like I know Paul does ones that are on Youtube. I'm glad you got 4.2 miles in! I bet that felt good despite the cold. What did you have done to your back?

  5. What the what?? The Survivor finale happened??? OK, I have a lot of catching up to do. How can I even call it my favorite show when I'm so far behind. Sad!

    1. Well if you feel like I did after the finale, it may not be your favorite show anymore! We gotta talk once you've watched it.
