Random Stuff...

Hey all! Just some random stuff for you today...

1. Thank you for your feedback about my hair cutting/dying situation! What I decided I am going to do is get it trimmed somewhere cheap as often as I want, and just go back to dying it with the stuff from Dollar General. Hopefully that works! I feel sick about all the money I spent at the salon...

2. Sunday night was hellish. I went to bed around 1am and at 3:44 I was still wide awake. My brain was going to dark places and I couldn't take it anymore. I got out of bed, cleaned the house, organized the pantry, took out the trash, ran 5 miles, watered the garden, and went grocery shopping all before 8:30am. I felt like complete crap though. I was scared to take a nap because I didn't want to sleep all day and then not be able to sleep that night, but I was sick tired and it was torture trying to stay awake. I ended up taking a 1.5 hour nap and got up after that. I didn't want to get up but I had to.

3. I have completed my sunglasses collection. A couple days ago, I showed you the different sunglasses styles I had going on. Well, the very day I posted that blog, I went to the mall and bought 3 pairs! I am done now, I promise!

The bottom half is a nudish pink color. These were only $5 at New York & Company!

I told you I wanted to try this style! They were $11 at Payless!

My aviators were rusted so I needed a new pair. These were on sale for $13.99.

Paul made fun of me for getting Roca Wear. I didn't care about the brand, they just fit well!

I didn't feel like doing my hair and makeup for a photo sesh, so you get grungy Megan in cool sunglasses...

Sorry guys, this is how I roll when I'm at home!

4. These shoes: Cool or Ugly? While I was at Payless a few days ago, I found these shoes which I thought were kind of cool but also ugly. They were really comfy... I reached out to my Facebook friends, who never let me down when I need their fashion advice! Most of them told me they were ugly for various reasons- the criss cross, the silver, they looked too big... What do you think? (I did not get them even though they were marked down to $10... probably because everyone else thought they were ugly too!)

5. I got a wreath for our front door! I love the bright green colors. I went to Michael's to get some flowers to stick in the wreath to make it a little fancier, but they got smashed by the screen door. There's just not enough room for a bulky wreath, so I'm not sure what to do. Anyone else run into this problem with their wreaths? Now I'm worried about the fall one I got for my birthday. What if it's too bulky? I suppose I could put it on the outside of my screen door? Do people do that?

 The flowers that didn't fit...

6. Forever 21 jewelry is the best. It's so cheap. These pride hearts were $3.90. I love them!

Tell me something random!

  1. I am not sure what to do with your wreath. It's so pretty and I hope your other one fits, too! I am glad you got all your shades for your collection. Those shoes are really ugly. I am so glad you asked us all and did not buy them. Life is too short to wear ugly shoes, my friend!!

    1. It sure is! I'm still confident I could pull them off with the right outfit... Maybe that hat from yesterday hahaha!

  2. Buy a command hook and hang the wreath on your glass door. That's what I do. I use to hang my Christmas wreath on the main door but too many times the glass door would go shut and end up breaking the glass ornaments that were on the wreath. Live and learn! Glad you found a wreath. I still need to get one for my back door. Was there a sale at Michaels? I always get coupons for there but can never use them on sale things and I often find their sale wreaths to still be more $!
I'm not a fan of those shoes but I do love the NY and co sunglasses!

So, what time was it when you went for a run? Was it in your neighborhood? Was it sunrise? Sorry for all the questions!

    1. The wreath was from Amazon, only $23. The little flowers were from their summer collection so they were 60% off, so less than $1! Thanks for the tip to hang on screen door. I'm pretty sure my hook will work!

    2. I actually saw that wreath on Amazon!! That's the one I was going to get and then I was going to go to Michaels and get some summery accessories for it.

    1. I guess it is like a sporty brand and urban. Totally not me but the glasses are!

  4. Megan - I understand why you liked the shoes and kinda thought they were ugly. They look kinda cool but kinda weird, I probably would have bought them! I have an ugly pair of sneakers too and I love them and they are super comfortable.
Love your sunglasses - you look great in all of them. LOVE those pride hearts too!
We put our Christmas wreath on the outside - we have a covered porch (looks like you do too?) so it should be fine.
Random - my 12 year old is 6'3 and towers over me. He's the one who is intellectually disabled and doesn't speak, but definitely lets me know what he wants. The best part is he is not done growing - he is predicted to be 7 ft. (I told you about the height on my husband's side, right?). have a great day! Kristen

    1. What do your ugly sneakers look like? Okay maybe I will try hanging the wreath on the screen door instead since it is covered. Wow your son is so tall!! Is it hard to find clothes for him??

    2. They are gray sketchers and have a little bit of glitter in them - not really age appropriate, but they have this awesome, cushion-y sole - they are wicked comfy! They kind of look like bowling shoes. I have a bit of plantar fasciitis from running and they feel great on my heel.
No, not too hard yet - because he is the size of an adult, I just buy him adult clothing, although I am concerned about the length of his pants, his legs are so long that I am wondering what I'll do come fall/winter. That's going to be a challenge! Have a great vacation! Kristen

  5. I don't like the shoes, but I tend to buy really simple shoes. I spend more money on them but they're never anything fancy--I just need good support! You know who has good hair? Megan from Clean Eats Fast Feets. It's even shorter than yours, and she doesn't dye it--she has some silvers but they look really good. Check out her hair and maybe it'll give you some ideas? Maybe you won't have to spend money dying your hair all the time, and maybe you'll go even shorter and then not have to cut it as often! Message me on FB to tell me what you think!
I love the Payless sunglasses on you the most. They totally suit you.

  6. All your sunglasses look so cool!!

Was sunday night the Puzzle race? Were you still high on winning the puzzle race? I hope you caught up with your sleep.

The shoes looked ok, until I saw the elastics on top.... that lost me. I don't even mind the metallic backs.

Something Random... there is a guy sitting with a co-worker who cannot stop talking about how amazing and awesome he is, and how employers don't' want to hire him, because they are intimidated by his amazing social skills... I want to tell him to stop talking about himself for 1 minute and LISTEN.

    1. Yes it was the puzzle race, maybe I was more stoked about winning than I thought!

  7. Hmmm, torn on the shoes. Didn't like them, until I saw them on. But then changed my mind when I saw the silver ;) Love the wreath though, and also the hat from yesterday looks really great on you!
Random thing - someone from my 5K coaching group gave me a pair of her used running shoes yesterday! She said the only wore them twice, and they weren't for her. However, they seem more worn than that. She works at a shoe store, so freebie shoes for her! Eh, what the heck, I like the color so I will give them a try.

    1. Haha! Some people like the silver, some hate it. I think if it weren't for the silver I would've bought them! But there's more than one weird thing going on with them. I hope the free shoes work! If not, maybe for style purposes only like while walking around.
