Weekly Workouts!

I ran... 20 miles
I lifted... 2 days
Arc trained... 2 times
I walked... a billion miles around Hershey Park
I rested... 1 day.

Saturday- 14 mile run on the AT. This was my second and LAST long run in preparation for my 30k which is exactly two weeks away! (Well, now it's one week away, but when I did this run, it was two weeks away.) I wrote more about this run here! My lower back was killing me for the last 2 miles. Stretching and foam rolling helped, but I was still pretty creaky the rest of the day- not gonna lie! By the next morning I felt basically back to normal.

Sunday- Lifting back @ Planet Fitness. Gym date with my hunny! This was a quicky.

Monday- 45 minute arc trainer. I ended up having to wipe my face with a puhp towel. (Puhp as in poop.) A puhp towel is a towel from a load of laundry that sat in the washer for a long time and then ended up smelling like puhp. Also, I accidentally farted really loud while I was on the machine.

Tuesday- 6 miles @ Pinchot Park. I am proud of myself for doing this run because I am normally scared to run trail alone in the summer due to SNAKES. Luckily, I didn't see any snakes.

Wednesday- Lifting chest @ home. Oh, and we took Paul's niece and nephews to Hershey Park, which means we walked 5 billion miles! I'm so glad I didn't run today!

Thursday- Rest. I was so freaking exhausted from Hershey Park the day before and just had no desire to do anything. I did clear out yard debris from behind our shed, so I did work up a sweat doing that.

Friday- 45 min arc trainer. Hey, a picture!

Sorry this is so boring without pictures! I know not everyone likes workout recaps but I do like having the record of what I did to look back in case I need to!

  1. I like workout recaps! And you had a good week, glad you got the long run in and lots of arc trainering. I read somewhere that it helps big time with trail runs because you can stimulate more uphills on it (we don't have hills here to even run though) and of course, low impact. I hope you have a wonderful time on vacation and a great trail run in Cali!

    1. Thanks girl! That makes sense about the arc trainer simulating hills being good for trail running. I am soooo slow on hills these days.

  2. I feel the same way about my own weekly recaps! Its nice to have your own record of them but I know not everyone care what workouts I did every day. Also, knowing I will write about my workouts holds me accountable to not do anything stupid, haha!

    1. Yes, same!!! I try to be honest when I do things for stupid reasons though. Like I remember a couple weeks ago I was supposed to lift but I ran because I felt "fat". Pretty shameful, but I was up front about it at least!

  3. I have mixed feelings about workout recaps. I get that they can be boring if it's just wrote in list form because no one but us probably even cares what we did. However, I do like the little anecdotes that go with them! Does that make sense?

Can't wait to hear about Hershey park! Will that be it's own post or will you talk about it in your weekly wrap up?

    1. Yes, I do like reading anecdotes. I think if I tried, I could make mine more interesting!

I am posting about Hershey Park next week. Omg it is soooo long!

  4. I love the weekly workout summaries! I like to see what others do and sometimes I get ideas because my main goal is to do a lot each week (not a lot as in volume, a lot as in variety). Last week I ran 10, walked 2, swam 1.2, cycled 32.6, rowed 4 plus 2 strength training and 2 quick yoga sessions. I like to do something different each day. Can't wait to hear more about Hershey Park! I loved your pics that you posted.

    1. Yay! At least someone does. Wow you did do a huge variety this week! Paul did rowing at PT and he loved it. I told him we should get a rowing machine for him and we was interested. I could see it bothering my IRB but who knows!? I bet rowing makes you so strong. I have a SUPER LONG Hershey Park post... omg.... Posting next week. :)
