I did something freaking crazy the other night...

I did something freaking crazy the other night...

I ORDERED 7 PAIRS OF RUNNING SHOES!

After reading Lisa's blog, it reminded me that I should check Holabird Sports and Running Warehouse to see if they had some closeout deals on my Wave Riders. Both sites did!

I found a coupon code for 10% off from Running Warehouse so that is where I purchased my shoes!

I got the ugly pink color, but they were only $55! I don't care what color my running shoes are if they only cost $55! (The new ones are $119.00. That's insane... I have cats to feed...)

I know it's a lot of money to spend, but I just couldn't beat the price. I will save money in the long run.

Seven pairs of running shoes should last me at least a year and a half, right? Maybe two years if I get injured and have to take some time off. (Not like I'm wishing for that!)

Even if they only last me a year and a half, that's 71 cents a day to run in high quality sneakers!

If they last me two years, that's only 53 cents a day!

Or my math could be completely off...

Outtake...

Now I have to try on all these shoes to make sure none of them are deformed. Ugh, not looking forward to that.

Look, Jelly has a new home!

What's the most amount of running shoes you bought at one time?

What's the CHEAPEST you have ever gotten your shoes?

Would you wear a color you didn't like if it meant they were cheaper?

Do you mind getting the old model or must you have the newest?

  1. That is some shopping spree! I used to buy in bulk but ever since I found out I was wearing the wrong shoe, I have decided to only work on one at a time--love the Brooks but might be adventurous and try some other shoes. I think I scored a pair for $45 once -- that was sweet. I don't care what color and if it's last years model. Doesn't it feel good knowing you don't have to think about buying shoes for quite some time?!?

    1. Every time you tell me that story it makes me afraid the same thing will happen to me and I will be stuck with all these shoes lol. $45 is awwwwwesome. I too do not care thre color so long as it's cheap. Oh I am going to snap you something funny.

    2. I hope this never happens to anyone! But now, like I told you, I have a bunch of super cute shoes to wear around the house on "casual" days! Your snap was HILARIOUS. I love you, girl!! LOL.

  2. You know I actually like those Pink wave riders. I've wanted those but can not find them in my size!

Last summer I lucked out and found aa pair of wave rider 18's (my favorite) at dick's sporting good's tent sale on clearance. They were only $55 but I passed because they were red. The next week I went back again and they were still there so I decided to get them. When I took them too the register I even got an extra 25 percent off! I can't believe I almost didn't get them because of the color because now it turns out that I love the color!

    1. I know you like that color! I so with they had them in your size! WOW that is an awesome deal you scored! I think I saw the red. I didn't like it at first, but the more I looked at it, I liked it! You don't see red running shoes often.

  3. Had to say thank you for posting this - I wear the Wave Riders, too, so I just ordered myself a purple pair! I like the new model in gray but there's no way I'm paying 120 if I can get one for 55.

  4. I think this was a smart move! If you know what you like, you might as well stock up! I love Running Warehouse, You can usually use the code FB15D for 15% off sale items. Thats always my first stop for running gear!I ordered some warmer running jackets last week but they were a little small but they are so easy to return so Im trying again with a bigger size!

    1. I'm glad you are able to find deals too! I will try to remember that code. I tried a couple codes (can't remember exactly what) but the 10% was the only one that worked.

  5. This makes me so happy! What a steal! And I love seeing all those boxes! I think I have a box fetish. Not romantically, I just like seeing, holding and hoarding boxes of all kinds! Once a year I have to force myself to throw away all my "empties" (empty boxes) so that it doesn't become a serious problem!

The most running shoes I've ever purchased at one time was three. It was also during a end of the year sale when RW was trying to get rid of last year's models. I miss running in the Adrenalines because I feel like I was always able to get them on discount but I NEVER see the Glycerines on discount! Or if I do find them on sale they only have size 5 available or something like that. It's so sad because they are like the most expensive shoe ever.

    1. "empties"! THat's a cute word for it. :) Sometimes I take my empties to school. Teachers always need boxes. That really sucks that you wear the most expensive shoe. I am glad the wave riders have served me well for so long. I love them.

  7. Holy moley! I do buy my shoes on sale, and I don't care it it's last year's model at all. The most I've bought is 2 pairs, tho. It's hard to find my shoes on sale!

    1. I'm sure you stock up when you find them! I can usually get mine on some sort of sale. This one was cheaper than normal though.

  8. Nice!!!!! "I have cats to feed" LOL! I have one more deal place... https://shoeworldplus.com/ My friend scored a ton of Newtons there, but sadly they didn't have my size :( I've bought several new pairs off Ebay for under $40! I wish my favorite running shoes would never change. I would love them forever!! I think white is the only color shoe I might not buy. I just can't go back to white again!! those days are over. That's funny that you think the pink color is ugly... pink/purple is my running color scheme!! Are you more of a blue/green kind of gal?

    1. I like dark colors. My favorite shoeshoe are anything dark with maybe some neon accents. I do like pink but more of a hot pink. I too wish they would never chanel my running shoe! Wow $40 that is a steal!!!

  9. Next time, if it's a sale item, use the code FB15D. It doesn't always work but it takes off 15%. I just picked up a pair of Brooks Launch 3 for $50 and some change, totally worth it. I love Running Warehouse but have never bought more than 2 pairs of shoes at one time.

But if RW had 7 pairs of Brooks Launch in my size... I'm not saying I wouldn't have bought them out, haha.

    1. I did try a bunch of codes and the only one that worked was the one I used. Not sure if I tried that exact one. I normally buy 3 at a time... once I did 4.... this was epic.

  10. "They're last year's shoes, I don't think anybody will notice."

I check websites from time to time to see if I can find my shoes on sale. I have a brand new pair of New Balances because they were on sale. I still get picky about the color, but for $55, I don't think I'd be that picky.

    1. I know! For $55 I'd wear shoes that say "I hate cats" lol.

  11. OMG! you are talking about shoes!

You inspired me! after I saw your sneakers shopping spree, I went to the Nike Outlets and bought 2 pairs of my favorite shoes, I should have bought 3, and regret it now. One was $27, the other was $22. I bought them in teal and a gray and green, colors that I would never pick on a normal day, but prices I couldn't pass.

    1. I KNOW I NEVER TALK ABOUT SHOES. I hate reading about shoes. Thanks for reading my post about shoes. :) YES YOU GOT SOME AWESOME SHOES at great prices! They sound stylish, too.

  12. I totally need to do this! My issue is that I have a tried and true style that fits me well year to year - but I need to look into a more neutral shoe. Both options are on sale at the moment...but I might just get a new pair to try and then order a few of whatever ones work better :) I also need to look into a good trail shoe... So many shoes!!

  13. I do similar math with "real" prices on clothes. Like, the number of times you wear it divided by the cost is the REAL price!

I've heard that shoes can deteriorate over time if they just sit in your closet. Do you know if there's any merit to that?

How do you plan to track mileage on the shoes that look the came? I've seen people do it through changing shoelace colors or numbering their shoes with sharpie haha!

    1. I hope there is not merit to that! I mean, they should last 1-2 years, right? That is weird.

I don't rotate shoes. I just wear one pair until they're done and then switch the old shoes to lifting shoes. :) It goes running shoes to lifting shoes to mow the lawn shoes.
