I hope your New Year's Eve wasn't too crazy and you are able to spend the first day of 2016 doing something you truly enjoy.
My last day of 2016 was quite perfect. I slept until 11:00 with Christmas was cuddled under my chin. I love him so much. Every day, I thank him for being such a good little boy and for being my baby.
I went for my last run of 2015!
Clementine and Ellie
I broke in one of Ellie's puzzles.
Tyler got the coolest Christmas present!
White Lightening! (My dad.)
Ellie, Clementine, and Nanny
That evening, we went out for dinner with our friends Randy and Michael. Then it was back to our place for dessert and games.
Randy, Michael, and Paul
We celebrated the New Year with champagne, except for Paul, who celebrated with a cold hard glass of milk!
We played Nasty Things!
Oh my gosh did I show you these hot shoes I scored after Christmas!?
$23!!!
They are my "sitting down shoes".
My final day of 2015 was filled with running, family, friends, kitties, and games. I couldn't ask for anything more!
I haven't yet posted any goals for 2016. The thing is, I don't really have any goals! I want to PR in the half marathon, but I am chillaxing for a bit before I go after that one. And that has been a goal for months now, it's not a new thing for 2016.
I don't feel like I have to make any goals right now. I am content to be commitment free at the moment! And it's not like a "new beginning" won't present itself soon. The thing is, there are always opportunities for me to start anew and set goals...
January- New Year. Resolutions, goals, yada yada yada.
June- Summer vacation! Time to focus on something other than teaching.
July- My birthday. It's a good time to take stock in my life and making sure I am doing what I want to be doing.
September- New school year! Fall! Time to accomplish ALL THE THINGS!
... And then before ya known it, it's January again!
So I am going to hold off on goals right now since I feel like if I made them it would be forced and not organic.
How was your last day of 2015!?
Love the shoes! Sounds like you had a perfect last day of 2015. I had a 4 mile run in 15 degrees which honestly felt so warm compared to what it has been. We took Macy for a walk and watched her romp around in the snow (happy dog) then we went for a movie and dinner. It was a perfect last day to 2015 and I look forward to 2016 and all it brings you and your entire blog community!
ReplyDeleteWow how many movies are you up to now????!!! :)
DeleteI saw 9 movies this vacation--I am a happy girl!
DeleteYou are a MACHINE!
DeleteYou are so right, there are always new opportunities to set goals! I love those shoes but they would definitely be "sitting down shoes" for me as well! Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately we had to wait over half hour for a table and just standing in them for that long made me eel jacked up haha. Happy New Year!
DeleteI would have to use those as my sit down shoes also, lol. I'd totally fall over but they're great!
ReplyDeleteI don't have any goals either!!! Everyone keeps asking but I have no reply???? I think one of them should be to blog more often. ;)
I think you should blog more too but that is a selfish of me to want. :)
DeleteLOL!
DeleteI think one thing people do which is a mistake is thinking somehow Jan 1st is the ONLY time to set goals, when pretty much every day is a clean slate. Goals are just there to give you direction, and if you're not sure about it at the moment or are just enjoying life in the present, so be it! Hope it's a great year!
ReplyDeleteYou described it so perfectly. I am kind of content right now. But who knows, in a few weeks I may feel motivated or want to change something!
DeleteIt looks like you had a great new year! I'm not in my usual mindset of goal-setting this year, so I'm going to be keeping it more flexible than in previous years. I'll adjust as the month goes on!
ReplyDeleteWe are totally on the same page. :) I hope your New Year was fun!
DeleteLove your sitting down shoes, LOL. I have some of those too !
ReplyDeleteEvery girl has got to have a couple. :)
DeleteOhhhhh shoes! I love them!
ReplyDeleteI'm rolling into 2016 commitment free too. I mean, I want a half marathon PR and I want to finish Chicago, but other than that I just want to have fun!
I love that you thank Christmas for being a good boy and your baby every day. Every single morning when I give Cecil his breakfast I tell him that he is beautiful and smart and that I am proud of him. Adam thinks I am a little bit crazy, but on the off chance that Cecil can understand my words I want him to hear those things every day!
I think you and I are really great moms. Are there Cat Mom of the Year awards? Because I nominate us!
It warms my heart that you talk sweetly like that to Cecil. I think they may not know exactly what we are saying but they can definitely feel our love by the tone of our voice.
DeleteScheduling as race the next day is a good tactic to make sure you don't get too wild and crazy on NYE! I don't know if that was your motivation or not... ;)
