FAQ

These are not “blog” FAQs... these are questions I regularly get asked “in real life”. I figured I'd take the time and answer them for you!

1. Is your hair naturally curly? Yes.

2. Do you eat junk food? Yes.

3. At what age should my child start piano lessons? I think 1st grade is the best age. At this point, a child is usually able to read on their own, as well as sit still for practicing and lessons. It also brings them to the age where they have the fine motor skills they need to be in control of their fingers.

4. I want to start strength training. What do I do? I wrote a pretty detailed post here.

5. When are you going to perform in another musical? As I have gotten older, I have started to enjoy sleeping and being well rested for work more than performing in musicals. Believe me, I miss it. But when I'm in a musical, it means my schedule looks like this:

5:30 am- wake up
6:00 am- workout
7:55-3:40- work
4:00-6:00- piano lessons
6:30-9:00- rehearsal

I can't do that. I know some people can deal with being that busy and even thrive off of it, but now me! That being said, there is a rumor that a local community theater is going Jesus Christ Super Star in a few months, and I will audition for that. I love that show and performing in it is definitely on my bucket list! I would probably just audition to be in the chorus because I love dancing and the chorus actually gets to sing in some awesome songs. If I auditioned for the one and only female part, I'd get to sing a couple solos, but no dancing. Bo-ring!

6. How are Christmas and Jelly? They are awesome! Thank you for asking!

7. Are you and Paul going to have kids? Nope. We are child-free and we love it!

8. Why do you love the holiday Christmas so much? I think it is because I have such fond memories of Christmas from when I was a kid. And I am not talking about big elaborate gifts. I'm talking about decorating the house, baking cookies, singing/listening to Christmas carols... all that fun stuff. So when the holiday season rolls around, it is just so homey feeling. It is kind of ironic that I love Christmas so much because I am not religious at all, and Christmas is a religious holiday! So it is kind of strange, but I associate Christmas with family and giving to those in need. It's just such a happy, jolly time and I love it!

9. When are you going to start training clients? Megan Michael Training is open for business!

10. What if I just hate running? I tried it and I don't like it but I want to lose weight! It's okay to not like running. Just because some people love it doesn't mean you have to. I know runners can be annoying... sometimes all we talk about is running. But that doesn't mean running is the #1 way to health and fitness. There are 1,000 other ways to be healthy, fit, and lose weight that are just as good, if not better than running.
Tell me what people ask you all the time!

  3. I'm jealous you like Christmas so much! It's the one holiday I can't stand, mostly because I don't have many fond memories or traditions to relate to. Sad huh? I can understand about the musical schedule. It's fun but I've done a couple and it can be a pretty big time suck. At least you're holding out for the right one for you!

    1. It stinks that you don't like Christmas because it's that one holiday you CAN'T hide from! I hate Easter, that is a little easier to steer clear of. In fact, we barely knew it was Easter this past year because it was the day before the Boston Marathon so we were in BOSTON mode.

  4. LOL that is a good one! There is nothing natural about my hair color right now either, and as soon as I get paid again, it is getting cut and professionally colored and highlighted. I am over these greys!!!!

    1. I know! Some people enjoy being busy like that but I do not. The less busy I am, the happier I am. :)

  7. I get questions about my hair all the time, which is weird because there's nothing special about it! But my students always want to know if it's naturally wavy when I wear it to school post-shower without blowing it dry!

    1. That's funny because I usually ask people with normally straight hair if their hair is naturally wavy/curly whenever I see them wearing it au natural!
