Yesterday was a wonderful day! It was so wonderful that I wanted to share some of the things I was thankful for throughout the day- big and small!
- Thanks to Trazodone, I got a solid night's sleep! The cats woke me up twice but I was able to fall back asleep!
- After a frigid run with crazy winds, it was wonderful to spend the day in my warm classroom. I'm thankful for a job that keeps me WARM.
- I'm thankful for my saxophone students who have been practicing very hard and are moving along quite nicely in our lesson book.
- My second graders had an awesome music class. They sang their hearts out and then worked well in groups while playing a listening game. It was an "easy" class to teach because they were on the ball!
- I'm thankful for being able to reunite with one of my best friends from high school! We had dinner together and just jibber jabbered the night away!
How great when your school day goes so well! Will your instrumental students be performing in a holiday concert?
ReplyDeleteToday is Baylee's 13 birthday and I am SO THANKFUL she's made it this far with us!
Happy Birthday, Baylee!!!!!!!! Give her a big kiss on the head from me. :) Are you doing anything special with her to celebrate? Extra treats?
DeleteNo they are not performing anything. If I had another 3 weeks to organize small groups they maybe could have played, but then I would need time to rehearse with them, and there is no time in my schedule to do that. I'm already teaching lessons during my lunch. What really needs to happen is we need another music teacher because there SHOULD be someone who has time to organize all of that. My 4th grade chorus has their concert on Dec. 5th.
All wonderful things and yes, we have a lot to be thankful for! I am always so thankful for my health, my family, my job! I also am thankful for good sleep. I love getting good sleep -- Tuesday night I rocked out 9 hours and 20 minutes! That felt amazing!
ReplyDeleteWow ! Do you normally sleep that long or were you extra tired for some reason?
DeleteI normally sleep 8-8.5 hours. I had a rest day and was actually able to not get up at my normal time! I definitely sleep more in the winter for sure!
DeleteI'm glad you had a great day! Sounds like the meds are really doing their job for your sleep. I, on the other hand, had a crap day because my back and glutes were sore :( I felt crippled, and tossed and turned all night due to pain. Ugggh! Today was feeling much better and was able to run, and hit the gym! Woohoo! I hope tonight's sleep will be just as successful :) Cross Country team awards tonight, so that will be fun for my daughter. It's been a great season for the team!
ReplyDeleteOh man, why did your back and glutes hurt so bad? Have fun at the award ceremony tonight! Go Sydney!!
