Friday 7!

Hey all! I am linking up with Running on Happy and Fairytales and Fitness for Friday 5 2.0!

Today I'm going to share 5 7 television shows Paul and I love watching together.

I know I'm supposed to talk about beverages today, so how about I mention that I normally drink lime seltzer water or diet root beer while we are watching these shows?

There, I have the beverages out of the way. Let's talk television!

For the most part, Paul and I have way different tastes when it comes to TV shows. He loves a lot of shows I either can't stand, or I have never watched because they don't interest me.

For instance, Paul loves It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Trailer Park Boys, Workaholics, The Wire, Breaking Bad, and Sons of Anarchy.

But this is what we watch together...

1. Survivor. This one is obvious. We get quite into Survivor. We've seen all 34 seasons (some more than once), listen to podcasts, and even traveled to NYC twice for Survivor events. Now, I could never be on Survivor, for many reasons that I listed here.

2. Bates Motel. This show has been hit or miss with us for awhile, but we always stuck with it. Like any show, there have been some annoying characters and stupid plot lines. But this season (which I believe is the last) is just SO GOOD! I can't say anything more as I don't want to spoil it!

3. Big Brother. It's very easy to immerse yourself into Big Brother, which is probably why it only airs in the summer! There are 3 network shows a week, Big Brother After Dark 7 nights a week, podcasts, and of course, the live feeds which I do admit I subscribe to but only because they are part of CBS All Access!

4. Full Frontal - Samantha Bee. Samantha Bee is so smart and funny. However, with the state of our nation right now, sometimes it's hard to actually laugh at the situation we're in.

5. Hardball with Chris Matthews. So this is the only news show we watch. For awhile I was watching Anderson Cooper on CNN because we didn't get MSNBC. Well, it turns out we were paying for MSNBC but the channel wasn't working. It's working now. I started DVRing Chris Matthews, Chris Hayes, and Rachel Maddow. Chris Matthews is my favorite by far. I love his dry sense of humor, I love that he spits when he talks, and I love that his lower lip is always cracked. He's the only news show I DVR every night.

6. The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. We fondly call this show "Colby". Stephen Colbert is KEEPING US SANE. He is absolutely hilarious and he makes me feel like I am not so crazy myself. Colbert is on 5 nights a week, which is a lot of programming, but we don't watch the whole show. We always watch his monologues and comedy segments, but we only watch interviews we are interested in.

7. Seinfeld! We just love watching reruns of Seinfeld. Even though most of the episodes are over 20 years old, they are still funny! I want to say Seinfeld is the greatest TV comedy of all time!

And since I am sure you want to know my favorite episodes, they are...

The Movie
The Parking Garage
The Hamptons
The Chinese Restaurant
The Bubble Boy
The Subway
HAPPY FRIDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  1. I haven't watched a full episode of Sinefeld in like forever but I did catch a bit of it last night when it was on the channel scott had on. You are right, it is always funny! That's pretty much the only show you mentioned that I've watched.
Scott and I like Amazing race, Modern Family, and Big Bang. I Don't stay up long enough to watch a Late night show..lol. I've never seen Samantha Bee but from her commercials, I find her annoying and not funny. Perhaps I would think differently if I actually watched her show though..IDK. Thanks for linking up!

    1. Oh we have to dvr colby! It's on way too late for us too! Samantha is a strong personality so I can see how it would be easy to be turned off by her ifather she's not your thing. Rachel Maddow has little quirks about her I find annoying.

  3. I don't really watch TV at all! Rob will sometimes put it on but I don't pay attention. Out of the ones you listed I really like Seinfeld!

  4. I don't watch too much TV, but I do love Stephen Colbert. He's so funny and intelligent - great winning combo in my book!

  5. A few weeks ago, I was re-joining our wifi and noticed a wifi named ASSMAN. The signal was strong and it was coming from inside our house. Yes, my oldest son renamed our wifi. I asked him if he was the ASSMAN and he started laughing.

  6. Seinfeld is the best, hands-down, all-time classic. Andrew used to watch it every single night before bed although he's gotten out of that habit in the last couple of years.

    1. It gets to the point it is "homey" you know what I mean? Paul and I have shows that feel homey.

  7. I totally agree with you about Seinfeld...Rick and I watch the reruns all the time and take as many opportunities to quote the show that we can!

    1. There are so many great quotes! It's crazy how Seinfeld sayings made their way into the American lexicon! I wonder if it's the most quotable show? Master of your domain, no soup for you, close talker, yadda yadda, get OUT, not that there's anything wrong with that, giddyup... what else is there? MAN hands! Hellooooo la la la!

    2. What about "I see your sticking with the denim", "he's an anti-dentite", "this is insane, I'm not this hippy", "a George divided among himself will never survive", and one that Rick and I always say "are you breaking up with me" to which he replies "are we going out" and she says "You're breaking up with me, aren't you?" and he goes "Do you want me to break up with you?"...shall I go on?!? OMG, it is the best show ever and I would imagine probably the most quoted just because of us!

    3. Omg I literally read all of these quotes in their voices in my head!

  8. Trailer park boys? that's a real show? It sounds strange...

    We just started watching Lost.

Yes, Seinfeld is the best comedy. The show can be watched in any order, any time and it's still funny.

I love Craig Ferguson! His show has been off the air for years, but I still go back and watch some of his monologues and interviews.

    1. Who replaced Craig Ferguson? I kind of remember him.

    2. James Corden replaced him ... but I never watch his monologues only the carpool kareoke.

  9. I'm collecting shows since I've lost interest in a couple. I have all available seasons of the BBT, and Penny Dreadful, and I almost have the seasons I want for NCIS. Next up is working on Rizzoli and Isles.

  10. My boss tried to get me into Trailer Park Boys. I gave it a solid try before saying absolutely not. Sometimes I'm ok with Workaholics, but it wears on me quick. We watch Big Bang Theory in syndication all the time (me and my fiance do, not me and my boss). We also get sucked into all sorts of reality tv shows. Naked and Afraid, Are You the One, My 600 Lb Life, Tiny House Nation. Sometimes we watch intellectual shows, I promise, I just can't think of any right now, haha.

    1. I'm not sure I watch any intellectual shows, so no judgment here!

  11. Seinfeld is definitely the best comedy of all time!

    Shows Adam and I watch:

    Seinfeld
    Workaholics (although it's done now)
    It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia
The Mindy Project (my show but adam watches w/me a lot)
    RAW and Smackdown
    Mr Robot
    Luke Cage
Arrested Development (we watch the whole series every summer)
Adventure Time (Adam's show but I watch w/him a lot)

I can't stand Chris Matthews' voice. Ugh!

    1. I don't know why I like his voice and when he spits but I do! I totally understand why you don't like his voice. You and Adam watch sout many shows Paul watches on his own. He also watches Arrested Development!

  12. I've heard wonderful things about Bates Hotel. I need to look into it!

We have very similar tastes in shows!

    1. I think you should try Bates. It may be on Netflix. Certain story lines can get emo and annoying but it is worth it to stick it out!
