Shopping! (Again...) & VLOG!

I know, I know, I know... I just went shopping! But please believe me when I tell you that besides the small shopping trip I took two weeks ago, I haven't been clothes shopping since... spring!? Last winter!? It had been awhile. I didn't need anything and I wasn't in the mood to shop.

But apparently, this past Sunday, I was in the mood to shop!

It all started with an innocent trip into Target to spend the $25 gift card I won at the 5k the day before. I perused the shoes and ended up getting these really cute boots. They appear brown but are technically grey.

They were $34.99, so I only paid $9.99. I would not have gotten these had I not had a gift card. First of all, I don't need boots like this at all, and second, I feel like they are a little trendy and may not be in style a couple years from now. But for less than ten bucks, I thought they were worth it. Plus they are really comfortable!

Ross is in the same plaza as Target, so I figured I'd pop over there and see what's up. I was in the market for new knee high black boots and a casual jacket for fall. All of my jackets are either really nice or running jackets. I had nothing in between.

At Ross, I scored an awesome deal on black boots. I LOVE THEM! They were only $34.99. In the video I mention they feel a little tight but actually when I put them on again and walked around in them, they felt fine.

I love long sleeved sweaters that cover my bum (so I can wear leggings to work) and I got this one at Ross for $9.99. Paul really likes it. In fact, he liked all my purchases and is the BEST husband because he paused football while I had a fashion show for him. And he paused football to take these pictures. Never did I ever think I would have a husband who would indulge me in these silly things!

These trouser socks were a bit of an impulse purchase but I did need socks to wear under boots. All of my socks are either ankle socks or Christmas themed. Oh yeah, I have my Bernie socks too!

$5.99 for six pairs!

I also grabbed some bright leggings for only $4.99. They are very warm and comfortable. I practically live in leggings in the fall and winter.

After Ross, I headed to TJ Maxx, which is where the real destruction happened. As I was looking for a casual fall jacket which I found for only $19.99...

... I came across this Calvin Klein down jacket that was originally $275 marked down to $79.99!!! I have been wanting a puffy long jacket like this for a very long time and I was THRILLED to find this deal!

I can't wait until it is -20 degrees out so I can test the warmth factor!

Okay, I am officially done shopping for fall and winter. I do not need anything at this point!

If you want to hear me ramble about my purchases, here is a VLOG...

    1. HAHA I get so many questions on the tree! Yes it is up ALL year. We have ugly cat ornaments on it and ornaments from the places we travel to. It's our cat/travel tree. :)

  2. You got some great deals and some nice stuff! I need new black boots this year. And yes, I love to wear leggings in the fall and winter!

    1. I hope you find the perfect black boots! Are you allowed to wear leggings to work?

  3. Oh, I love all of your purchases and would totally wear all of that stuff! Especially the black boots. Love! I definitely can't wear leggings at my bank job (professional attire only!), but even at my very casual IT job, my boss hates them and we can't wear them. bummer. I do wear them at home though. I'm the same way with the jackets - never seem to have the right one to fit the occasion. I only have a "camping" one or a "running" one!

    1. That stinks you can't wear leggings! I feel like they can look professional if you wear them correctly. I guess it is different at an elem. school where you can be a little hippy dippy and no one cares because you teach children. During my "normal" life I will wear leggings and sometimes cover my bum and sometimes half my bum is hanging out. At work when I wear them, I always make sure my bum is covered! So I wear them under a dress, with a long tunic, or a long sweater.

  4. I love the leggings that are fleece lined!
I want a pair of tall boots too but I am so worried about looking funny in them because I am so short!

    1. I think tall boots would be fine on you! Actually they will probably elongate you, especially if you wear them with black pants or dark jeans. Probably boots that go mid calf would be bad for someone on the shorter side but I say go for the tall ones! Paul is a little iffy on the bright leggings but he just hasn't seen me in them yet. ;)

  5. It's basically my dream to wear leggings and knee high boots every single day. When I was in NY last year I was living my best life in that combo. I can't believe you get to dress like that for a whole season. I may live in the wrong state!

I really like your black casual fall jacket! It's beautiful! Also when you put the hood up on the big puffy jacket - that's the best! You look like a runway fashion model showing off the best new jackets of the season!

    1. You do live in the wrong state! I say for Halloween this year go as a Northern American and wear leggings, boots, a sweater and scarf. Also make sure there is a/c wherever you're going! Thank you I freaking love my casual fall jacket too! I know STUFF shouldn't make me happy but that jacket makes me so happy. Also it will be interesting to see if I can NOT get cat hair on it! Paul laughed when I put the hood up. I said come on it's for FUNNY!

  6. I haven't been shopping in a while either. My idea of window shopping is looking online, and ordering something if I need it. I might sign up for Stitch Fix once I move to Colorado because I'm going to need a new wardrobe for the new climate.

    1. I have friends that use Stitch Fix and they like it a lot. I am soooo picky though about fit and comfort. I'm that person that grabs 15 things to try on and I am lucky if I even like one thing. So SF wouldn't work for me but ironically half the time I compliment someone on their outfit they say it is Stitch Fix!

  7. Huge bargains! I love TJ Maxx. I always brag to my husband about my bargains but he says that I am paying the price the things should be sold for. He's such a killjoy.

  8. I love all your purchases! We have similar styles. I don't wear leggings a lot but more often skinny jeans w/ my tall boots. I love the winter coat. Like we chatted about, living in a cold (in the winter) state it's easy to pick up ski type jackets but we also have to look cute so need to invest in warm/cute jackets. I am on the hunt for one in a brown or dark gray color!

    1. I hope you find it! TJ Maxx was FREAKING FULL of winter coats. Do you have one near you? I love to see people's clothes styles. Most of MY pics are in running clothes or PJs, so I'm not going to lie, it was fun to share my other fashion style!

  9. You TOTALLY SCORED! And Paul IS the best husband for pausing the game. WOW. Ha ha ha!

  10. Thank you Karen you are so sweet! You get to see me with no makeup and jammies in my snaps so you know that it takes a little bit for me to get cleaned up well. ;)

Aw that stinks that your Dansko are too bulky. I can picture it, I totally get it. Maybe clunky shoes and bulky socks will come back in style and you can wear them with leggings. Hey you never know. Bodysuits came back so who knows what's next?

  11. The jacket's hood is SO cute and fun!

Now that you have a whole new wardrobe, are you planning to donate some of your old clothes? I'm a hoarder; I always mean to donate old clothes and never get around to it!

    I love those raspberry-colored leggings!!

    1. Well I did a big clothing/house purge this past spring and unloaded so much stuff to Good Will and Community Aid. BUT I could probably do another once over and just see if there is anything else I don't need now that I got some new stuff!

  12. Nice work! Are you the type of person that prefers to shop alone or with others? I am definitely a solo shopper. I also have to be in a very specific mood to shop... when that mood strikes, I take full advantage. I always love finding a good deal at TJs or Nordstrom Rack. I have used Stitch Fix quite a bit and really like some of the pieces they pick for me. Because I spend half my life in workout clothes, I really like shopping at Athleta and Lululemon. When I REALLY feel like splurging I will hit up the local boutiques.

Oh, and great find on those Target boots. I was just in Target the other day and they have some of the cutest shoes! That jacket is also really fun and I love the huge hood. You will not be cold this winter. :)

    1. I am a solo shopper too! I like to be in my own little world. And yes I gotta be in the mood as well. I never did stitch fix because I am really picky and like to try things on, but I have always liked the stuff my friends got through stitch fix.

I am looking forward to not only being toasty but fashionable this winter! Seriously, my only other warm coat is a big puffy ski jacket and it only goes with casual clothes.
