I'm having some random hip pain post run... sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes it's on the left, sometimes it's the right...
Saturday- 11 miles on the AT with Kristen and Allison. The three of us were doing all different distances that day. I started at 850 and ran to Scott's Farm and back. It was so humid. I was huffing and puffing up the hills. I don't know what was wrong with me!
How many snakes do you think are in there!!??
Sunday- Lifting @ the gym. I also tried the row machine. It was... okay... I'm going to watch some Youtube videos on technique and try again!
Monday- 2 deck of cards workouts. Then Chrissy helped me stretch.
Tuesday- 6 morning miles! I woke up at 1:30 and could not fall back asleep. It was a rough day. My right hip hurt throughout the day. When I say hip, I mean high hammy and groin.
Wednesday- Lifting @ the gym and 2 treadmill miles. I'm back on the 5am gym train. Choo choo! Unfortunately, I woke up at 3:30 and couldn't fall back asleep. However, when I left the gym, there was a HUGE rainbow! It was a sign it was going to be a great day. My hip did not hurt at all after two miles. I don't know if it was due to lower mileage or the treadmill.
Thursday- 3 nighborhood miles and 1 deck of cards. My hip did not hurt at all! I think I will try 3 miles tomorrow too.
Friday- 4 neighborhood miles and 1 deck of cards. I felt great during the run except my LEFT groin hurt a little, and then continued throughout the day. I wonder why it's jumping from side to side. I think it's my lower back affecting my hips. It gets tight. I might go get a massage.

There are a shit ton of sunflowers in one of the alleys I run down.
Do you really run in that snake infested grass? I always forget about snakes when I run but I do hate running on trails like that one just for the fear of the "unknown" critters.
ReplyDeleteI hope you've found a way to keep that hip/groin pain at bay.
Yes, we ran through the grass for about... 1/2 of a mile before the trail went into the woods. I try not to be the leader in grass like that. :)
DeleteSorry your "hips" are being jerks! I am glad you explained what you meant because when I think of hips I think of the side of the body (like a little below your waist). Just take it easy and I am sure it will all work it's way out. A massage sounds wonderful (says the girl who gets about 2 per month). My week ended up with 2 runs, 2 bikes, 2 swims and 2 weight sessions. Next week I hope to run 3 x and get my weights back to 4 days but I just needed a "deload" week I guess. Happy Saturday!
ReplyDeleteWhat kind of massages do you get?
