A Very Ugly Run!

Related Posts Plugin for WordPress, Blogger... Paul and I had a BLAST in Colorado! I have some more recaps coming your way, but it is taking awhile to get all of the pictures together...

So here's a sneak peak for ya! On Friday morning, we awoke in the wonderful town of Boulder. Right outside our motel was a creek for Paul to fish and a bike/running path for me to run. It was perfect.

The path was called the Boulder Creek Path, which went right along the Boulder Creek river. It was so ugly. Let me show you...

Obviously I am joking. This run is up there in my top 5 favorite runs!

I hate everyone who lives in Boulder because they get to run here all the time and I DON'T!

I kept looking out for Kara Goucher but I didn't see her. Every time a skinny brunette in a sports bra ran past me (because everyone was running past me) my head did a swivel.
The elevation didn't affect me as much as it did in previous years! Now mind you, this didn't feel like a stroll in the park or anything, but it was doable to keep a 9 minute pace.

Tell me about some of your most beautiful runs!

  1. It's not lost on me how beautiful my state is. Since it's dark when I run I get the most beautiful views when I have Macy on my cool-down walk. When the sun rising hits the mountains, it takes my breath away.

    1. Paul and I would often look at each other and say, "This is so beautiful it looks fake!"

    2. Yeah, the mountains can definitely look fake at times. A sunny winter day is stunning because of all the snow on the mountains.

  2. Wow, what a beautiful area! Any time I'm around mountains (or any kind of elevation) it blows my mind in a good way. I love it!

    1. Come visit me in PA! We do not have HUGE mountains but we do have mountains. :) I'll take you for a hike on the AT.

  3. I ran up in high altitude at Keystone (CO) in the winter. Soooooo beautiful. But totally exhausting. Glad it is not sucking the life out of you! You should just poke your eyes out now after those terrible surroundings you had to run in. haha!!

  4. What an incredibly beautiful place to run!!! How cool would it be if you saw Kara?!?! I'm glad the altitude didn't kill you. What's it like running down low again? Do you fly? Or were you not up high long enough to make a difference?

    1. Heyyyy I didn't run at home yet, I am waiting until the PF goes away! It is a lot better than it was an I see my chiro again on Friday so I am hoping by this weekend I am out running again.

We did fly there. The way home was awful, so many kids.

  5. That all looks amazing!

What would you have done if you saw Kara Goucher? A few of the River Runners got to meet Scott Jureck last year, when he ran the AT by this area... They ran with him, and got pictures with him.

My most beautiful run was in Fort Lauderdale last year, I ran by the beach and by the park. It was so beautiful to run next to the ocean.

    1. I have no clue what I would have said! Probably just "Mornin;" hehe.

That Ft Lauderdale run sounds pretty! I love running near the beach.

  8. This looks like a beautiful run! I don't blame you to run slowly and just enjoy it, too. Love that path and that there's a barrier from traffic, too.

    1. Yeah I can't go fast in elevation! Plus Hansons easy runs have me running 8:51-9:30ish so at least it was right in there!

  9. I recognize that trail!! I've run it a few times. One time on a that trail I saw Sage Canaday... it was possibly the coolest thing that's ever happened to me. He looked like a magical gazelle.

    1. Yay! So you know why I love it so much. :) I don't know who Sage Canaday is but the name sounds familiar. I don't follow many elite runners. :(
