THIS or THAT Running Survey

Related Posts Plugin for WordPress, Blogger...

I saw this survey over at Run To The Finish and thought it would be fun to fill out! I don't think I answered any of these specific questions before, so heeeeeeeeeeeere we go!

1. This or That: 5k or marathon? Oh they both suck in their own, unique ways! I'm going to go with marathon since long distance is my first true love.

2. This or That: flat race in the heat or hilly race in the cold? I'm all about summer right now so give me a flat course with some scorching sun!

3. This or That: new running shoes or new running outfit? SHOES. Shoes are expensive and I have to have good, quality shoes. I rarely buy running clothes. I just wear the same old stuff. I could buy nice running clothes if I wanted to but I'd rather spend my money on other things.

4. This or That: run a marathon without headphones or Garmin? I only used headphones once in a race and it was for 6 miles. I can easily go without headphones!

5. This or That: race because of the convenience (location, price, travel) or the swag? Convenience.

6.  This or That: PR but result in an injury or finish strong and miss a PR? I am sure you know my answer to this. I am over injury- let's finish strong!

7. This or That: 100 squats or 100 push ups? Push ups so my knee doesn't hurt after.

8. This or That: run without socks or run without sports bra? Without socks. My boobs are small so I don't need the support, I would just hate for my nipples to chafe.

9. This or That: treadmill for an hour or run around the same street block for an hour? I will actually go with the treadmill on this one!

10. This or That: Ragner Relay or marathon relay team? Marathon. Less commitment. I'm afraid of commitment.

11. This or That: run naked or naked yoga? Running. Easy. In fact, I already have a naked race in mind but I never got the courage to do it!

12: This or That: come in 4th in the Olympics or 1st in NYC marathon? 1st at NYC!

13: This or That: give up running for 3 years to BQ but never BQ and run as much as you want? I'd rather never BQ again and run as much as I want. Though if I never ran Boston, my answer could be different!

So, tell me one your "This or Thats"!

  1. I would rather run the same blocker over and over than treadmill...mainly because my PT and I figured out, my body gets injured on a treadmill. And, like you, I am pretty much over injuries.

    1. Yup, give me a this or that and I will pick the one that DOESN'T involve injury hehe.

  2. I can't imagine doing a naked race OR yoga, although I suppose with running you can just try to outrun your fear or the creepy guy checking you out. I wish I was less modest, but OMG can you imagine yoga. I just don't want to look at butt cracks that up close and personal. belch! :)

  3. I've run without socks before, it's totally no big deal! I thought it would be weird, but once I started running I didn't even notice.

I would go with the 100 pushups too. I don't understand the purpose of 100 squats...

    1. I just figure whatever could happen to my feet would not be as bad as what could happen to my boobs. :)

  4. After Matt's SUP race, we received a flier for a naked run! It's at a nudist colony...I will NOT be participating! lol

    1. The one I have bookmarked is at a nudist colony too :) The rule is I won't tell anyone I am doing it until I actually DID it. :) It's two hours away so there is no way I would no anyone... and that's the only way I would do it!

  5. I would pick "none of the above" for the naked options. I don't even like clothed yoga, so naked would just add one more awkward piece. And running naked? OUCH!

    1. lol it certainly is a conundrum. I would think naked running would be very freeing, but maybe I am weird. I guarantee you if I had a treadmill I would have tried it by now. :)

  6. Fun! I would pick a hilly race in the cold over anything in the heat right now! (I'm sure my answer would be different in the winter though..)

And ha I pick marathon relay over Ragnar for the same reason

    1. I know right?? In the winter we just want the sun and in the summer we just want the cool air. :)

  7. What fun! I would pick a lot of the same answers you did. Except I think having the opportunity to be in the Olympics would be cool. I'd probably chose that over winning the NYC marathon....( of course I would never have to make that decision...haha)
