Weekend Wrap Up!

What a weekend! 

Instead of going through my daily weekend schedule like I normally do, I will just give you TWO highlights from the weekend! 

Roll with it!

Highlight #1: Karen's Bachelorette Party!

My friend Karen is getting MAWWWWWIED!!!! The big day is approaching soon... She's getting married in a little chapel in Vegas! 

Let me tell you, this party was a RAGER!!!!!

There was bra pong...

There was wedding dress tailoring...

There were laughs and smiles from Karen's closest friends...

And there were... PENIS STRAWS!!!

Do you see the veins? Disgusting!!!!

I wish I could show you the finally product of her wedding dress, but I guess that is bad luck, right!? You will have to wait until after she is married and then I can show you!

Highlight #2: Long Trout Winery & Disc Golf!

On Saturday afternoon, we met Randy, Michael, Desiree, and T.J. at Long Trout Winery in Deer Lake, PA. 

Long Trout is a really hippy dippy place with a deck that makes you feel like you are in the woods... because you are!

There is even a disc golf course! Everyone but me played a couple holes. I followed for two holes then went back to our table. I wasn't dress for trail!

I finally got to wear my romper!

The inside is decorated really cool!

 I used to have a bunch of these! They came from Hardeez, right?

And the wine tasting is FREE! They also sell beer.

Unfortunately we ended up leaving a littler earlier than we would have because a couple people sat down next to us and they were smoking. Guys, having to smell secondhand smoke ENRAGES me. I was so pissed. I can't think of anything more rude in society than forcing people to smell your disgusting cigarette smoke. Just go somewhere else like normal, polite people do!

I don't think we're in Kansas anymore...

There must have been a bachelorette party here the night before because there was penis shaped glitter in the parking lot. Do you see it? I spy with my little eye... a penis!

TORNADO WARNING!!!!!!!!!!!!

On Monday, Paul and I were out running some errands. We knew a storm was a-coming, but we didn't know how bad it would be. As we headed home, the sky got dark and then... our phones started alerting us that there was a TORNADO WARNING!

Whenever there is a tornado alert, I never remember which is worse, a tornado WARNING or a tornado WATCH.

Holy shit!!!!!!!!!!!

As I raced home, I made Paul scan the sky for tornadoes. There was substantial thunder and lightening but no rotating clouds he could see. My heart was pounding.

Guys, I am so scared of tornadoes. I'm afraid of mass shootings. I'm afraid of falling out of carnival rides. I'm afraid of dying in a plane crash. I'm afraid of someone breaking into my house and stabbing me to death. I'm basically afraid of everything.

Thank goodness our phones have alerts to warn us of tornadoes! I mean, if only I could sign up for alerts to warn me of all the things I am afraid of...

We got home and charged into the house. Paul turned on the TV to see what was going on. I checked Accuweather on my phone.

"Tornado Watch: Take cover NOW!!!" it said.

I looked out the window. Why was my neighbor moving her garbage cans? "FORGET THE GARBAGE CANS!!!!" I wanted to yell at her.

We lured the cats to the basement with treats. We picked Jelly up and put him in the small basement bathroom in the "back room" of our basement- it's basically the unfinished part that is a storage room. We put Chrissy in his carrying case in the back room and we all just hunkered down.

This is my "I'm about to die" face.

Thank goodness for phones, because we watched the news and followed the storm. Within no time, the tornado type clouds were past us and the storm was heading toward Lebanon.

Weekly Workouts

I ran... 25 miles
I hiked... 4 miles
I swam... 1.2 miles
I spinned... 40 minutes

I didn't lift at ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm running today (Saturday) 
but I'm going to lift on Sunday.

Saturday- 7 humid miles. I meant to do 6 but I ventured out too far! My hip started to hurt a little toward the end but I stretched and stuff after (and before) so hopefully it will be okay. It wasn't sunny but it was so warm and humid!

Finally home!

Sunday- 1.2 mile swim! Tyler got me into his gym as a guest so I could try out swimming. Donned in my $8.99 Speedo from Ross and a swim cap and goggles I still had from when I was swimming regularly like... 7 years ago, I meant BUSINESS!

I swam 15 laps (two lengths of the pool = lap) and my shoulder hurt a bit. Tyler helped me with my stroke so that I was doing it correctly and that I was using my back muscles more. My shoulder didn't hurt once I made the correction. My stroke is still not perfect but he gave me some good pointers.

I ended up doing 40 laps which is 1.2 miles! It took me about an hour, but I did have some breaks for Tyler to show me some technique and a couple of the laps I did kicking only.

I felt like Jelly when I got out of the pool!

Monday- 40 minute spin workout @ home. Paul and I were all ready to go to the gym but a severe thunderstorm rolled in and there was a tornado warning! Did you know warning is worse than a watch? A warning is when there are clouds that are capable of forming a tornado! We took the cats down to the basement and were down there scared for about a half an hour. When the warning was lifted, we went back upstairs, but were a little too shaken to leave the house. And at home workout it was! This is the workout.

Tuesday- 6 miles in Lemoyne. I took Paul to PT and while he was doing that, I went for a run. I did some old roads I hadn't been to in awhile, including the big hill up to Negley Park. There is a great view from there that overlooks the Susquehanna River and the Harrisburg Skyline. My hip felt a little jacked during this run. It was hilly and hot so my pace was sloooooow.

Wednesday- 5 mile running/disc golf date. Paul played disc golf at Willow Mill Park and I ran the back roads. Even though my hip felt a little jacked in the morning, it felt totally fine while running. It was so hot and the sun was beating down on me. I FELT SO WONDERFUL AND HAPPY! It was hilly and hot so my pace was sloooooow.

Thursday- 4 mile hike @ Little Buffalo State Park. My knee was PULSATING on the way home. Why? WHY DID 7 WEEKS OF PHYSICAL THERAPY NOT HELP A DAMN THING!? I knew it wouldn't. I got my hopes up...

Friday- 6 neighborhood miles. It was soooo freaking hot out. I was slow. Slow and hot was the theme for my running this week!
