Who am I!? (I ran 8 races this year.)

Related Posts Plugin for WordPress, Blogger... Guys, I don't even know who I am anymore. I ran 8 races this year! That's more races than ever! I wasn't racing the races. By I ran them all the same.

Here are some fun facts about the races...

1. Every race was a trail race.
2. The distances ranged from 15k-20 miles.
3. I ran races in three different states.
4. I ran a race on my 36th birthday.
5. I got my first post race massage.
6. One race had a crazy guy with a gun threatening runners.

There are four more races I am thinking about doing to finish off the year. The Hex Hollow Half (registered), Williamsport Trail Half Marathon, and The Dirty Bird (either the 15k or 30k distances), and The Naked Nick (25k distance).

Since I am registered for Hex Hollow, I will definitely do it unless for some reason by body is telling me NO. The other two will be last minute decisions!

Lately, I have only liked racing at the last minute. Less pressure!

If you missed any of my race recaps for this year, check them out!

Dam Half Marathon - 13/191 women, 6/36 AG

Chobot 15k - 6th AG

Catamount 25k

Ultra Race of Champions 25k+

Buck Ridge Burn Half Marathon - 4th/woman

Safe Harbor Half Marathon - OMG NO ONE EVER RUN THIS!

Naked Bavarian 20 Miler - 19/108 women

Squirrelly Tail Twail Wun Half Marathon - 5th woman

It was fun to go back and look at my times and see how well I did compared to others. I'm proud that I can usually place well even if I'm just running for "fun" and didn't really train! I guess that's easier for me to do these days in a trail race than a road race.
How many races did you run this year?
Any races coming up?

  1. I just did my second one, and I'm doing a turkey trot the Saturday before Thanksgiving. I don't do a lot of races during a year, and I make them count. They're all for fun too, so there's no pressure with any of them.

  2. Nice job, Megan! You did a lot of fun and interesting (and life threatening...LOL) races! Fun to come along virtually on your adventures!

  3. I have a 10K coming up on Sunday, and then the Columbus half marathon the following week. I think I will also run a holiday race in December. Then I'll see if my body will be ready for some marathon training in January. I really want to spend my birthday at Boston 2020 - and the charity route just seems so crazy out of my fund raising abilities!!
I've been doing a lot of last minute race sign ups too. I've got a bit commitment phobia right now :)

  4. Omg i forgot about that one with the guy who had a gun - that was totally crazy!!!! I'm excited for the half marathon relay adam and i are doing next month just because i've never done a relay and we get to run the last half mile together so we can cross the finish line as a team. That will be fun! I suggested to Adam that we should push Cecil in his stroller during the race but he declined that opportunity lol!

    1. Aw I love that you will cross the finish line together! Who gets the front half and who gets the back half? I WILL NOT SUPPORT THE RUNNING OF THIS RACE UNLESS CECIL IS PUSHED IN A STROLLER.
