Holy freakin' weekend Batman! I don't know why I said that. Actually I do. It's because I'm drinking a margarita right now and I'm feeling a bit... silly! Tequila will do that to you. I hope you had an awesome weekend and CONGRATULATIONS to everyone who raced! Ali ran a 10 miler and a 10k this weekend, so make sure you visit her blog and find out how her races went. (Spoiler Alert: She rocked it!)
Anyhoo, here's my weekend! And thank for stopping by my blog. I really enjoy writing it, and it makes me happy that you enjoy reading it! (I assume you enjoy reading it... Unless you just stop by to read because you hate it... Don't worry, there are a few blogs I do that to as well...)
Friday was a magical morning at the gym! I PR'ed in dumbbell chest press! On my third set, I did 30lbs for 10 reps! The most I ever did was 25lbs! I am happy to say, that I felt very comfortable laying back and coming up holding 60lbs in my hands. This is a good sign. Unfortunately, the next dumbbells up are 35lbs, but I feel like if someone handed them to me, I'd be able to do it. Anyone want to come to the gym with me and hand my 35lb dumbbells? I didn't think so. Wait, that is what personal trainers are for! Did I mention I am a personal trainer? Check out my website- Megan Michael Training and book your FREE consultation. What do you have to lose?
Friday night was spent at home, of course. I carbed up for Sunday...
Penne, ground turkey, broccoli, and lots of garlic and parm!
Taper day! I wanted to sleep in but my body woke me up at 8am. Actually, Christmas woke me up at 8am.
The day was spent lounging around the house watching Dateline, cleaning... that kind of stuff. The lawn needed mowed, but that was against the rules on taper day!
I did rip out my now dead butternut squash vine. As you can see,
it was huge and was very fruitful!
That night was fire pit time with Geoff and Bree for the THIRD weekend in a row! May as well add this event to our weekly calendar!
Sunday was my10k 5.92 miler! You can read more than you ever wanted to know about it here.
Or... you could watch my finish right here! Please excuse Paul's hand in the beginning!
After the race, I had to hightail it to dance practice for Dancing with the East Pennsboro Stars. Luckily, my partner had mercy on me and only made me do our dance 3 times. I had quite the tired body. The good thing is, we didn't really have to do it more because we know it so well! WE ARE READY TO ROCK IT OUT ON NOVEMBER 8TH!
When I got home, I crashed, and it was wonderful!
Bree and Geoffrey!
Yummy apples stuffed with brown sugar, butter, and cinnamon!
Paul
Me, and the best scotch I ever drank in my life- Lagavulin!

Tell me something fun you did this weekend!
Yay for PRing Friday! That's exciting :) Also yay for drinking a margarita while typing this and Scotch on Saturday night. You cray.
ReplyDeleteHaha thanks!
DeleteOh, I didn't realize your race was this weekend! Did you come in first place? Looked that way on the video but I suppose I should go find your race recap!
ReplyDeleteShort answer is I DID WIN!!!! :)
DeleteI still am so amazed that you won the whole thing and no one was around you!! I also can't believe you went and danced after running that fast!
ReplyDeleteOur dance actually hurts my arms more than it hurts my legs. We do a lot of lifts that put my arms in weird positions... Glad we only had to do it 3 times though!
DeleteHahaha yay for margaritas! Those brown sugar/butter/cinnamon apples sound amazing :) And a big congrats on your PR in dumbbell chest press!! Well done!
ReplyDeleteThanks! Lifting PRs don't come often for me so it is super exciting when I have one!
DeleteSounds like an awesome weekend. Only 3 more days 'til the next!
ReplyDeleteThe big question...ARE YOU GOING TO SPRAY TAN? I think only orange dancers win dancing competitions...
LOL I didn't even think of spray tanning!!! Unfortunately, I think it will just be my natrual pale-ass legs out there!
DeleteI like bench too! I wish our gym let us REALLY bench press and not just do the smith machine. Planet Fitness is weird. (But cheap!)
ReplyDeleteI love the video and hearing Paul yell for you!!!
ReplyDeleteI will have to check out that scotch - I don't drink it but Chris does. Some of his current choices - Glenlivet, Glenfiddich, MacAllan, Dalmore and Balvenie (he doesn't always have that much but several people gave him bottles of scotch at his promotion).
That's funny, he wanted to cut out the sound of him yelling but I said nooooooo Meg Go Run readers LOVE Paul! :) If Chris likes scotch he should try that kind. It is EXPENSIVE which is why I don't have it at my house, I only drink it when it is offered to me at other people's houses :) Luckily I have generous friends!
DeleteI put that scotch in my phone so I can try and find some next time I go to the liquor store - lately scotch is my go-to when I need to get Chris a gift because it is pricey to just buy.
DeleteI love this finish video!!! Your pasta looks very yummy. :D
ReplyDeleteI used to be scared of pasta. NO MORE. 'Tis my friend. :)
DeleteI love your video! You're running so fast!!!! Did you get to break tape? I couldn't see if there was any.
ReplyDeleteI am shocked that Paul calls you Megan since your blog name has Meg in it, haha!
Way to get it on the chest press -- especially with TEN reps at 30lbs each! Just last week I moved (back) up to the 25lb dumbbells for my last set and they are not light! I only knocked out a set of 5 reps!
I did not break tape, I actually didn't even think of that! Spoiler.... NO ONE calls me "Meg" except my mother in law hahahaha! I just thought Meg Go Run sounds cooler than Megan Go Run. I know you are very strong and you will get back up there with your dumbbells. Don't you row like 35lbs???? The most I have rowed is 25!
Delete1) thank you for the shout-out! I finally posted my second recap! haha
ReplyDelete2) congrats AGAIN on an awesome race and for blowing everyone else out of the water! How far behind was the 2nd place person?
3) Your friend Bree looks like Professor Trelawney from Harry Potter, but I mean that in a good way!
Yay I am going to go read it tonight! :) I think second place (another girl) was about 2-3 minutes behind me. Bree would be flattered at the HP reference I think because she likes those books (I think!!) I hope you are recovered from your weekend of racing. :)
