MGR's Weekend Wrap Up!

Unfortunately, this wasn't a great weekend. I was sick with a bad cold from Friday-Sunday. Hopefully I feel better today. This may be a boring wrap up but I will try my best to make it interesting!

This morning was the start of the a runny/stuffy nose and chills. It freaking sucked. I did run and go to work, but I was a useless teacher. I was a useless wife! I was a good cat mommy... Priorities.

I did finally finish the last puzzle I got for Christmas. Thanks, Mom and Dad. This was the hardest one! That tree in the lower right hand corner was a bitch.

And I had a weird dinner. Cheesy bread (not weird) and two turkey burgers with melted cheese in a bowl (weird).

I did not sleep well at all due to stuffiness and coughing from drainage. I ran 6 miles that morning but I don't know why I did that when I felt like death. Why did I run when I felt like death?I shall explore that in a blog post soon.

I really wanted to just lay around all day but we were going to my cousin's to celebrate Christmas with my dad's side of the family. It was also my dad's birthday! Even though I didn't feel great, I had a lot of fun hanging out with my family.

Caleb, Jake, Zach, and Emma open presents

Happy Emma!

Some epic ping pong was going on...

I love these pictures!

When we got home, I crawled right into bed.

I was hoping to wake up feeling awesome today but I felt just as bad as the day before. Unfortunately we had to go grocery shopping. But after we did that, I got right back into my pjs and laid on the couch. Once Paul's friends came over to watch football, I moved to the table to do some puzz puzz.

It wasn't a great weekend. I hate feeling like my time off work was wasted feeling so crappy.
Tell me something fun you did this weekend!
Do you play ping pong?
Would you rather be sick during the week than on the weekend?

  1. Sorry you were so sick! I'm impressed you still managed to run and socialize- I probably would have stayed in bed all weekend! Hope you are feeling better today!

  2. I just realized my comment came through as Running Out of Wine...that's so weird because I thought I changed my account!

  3. Hope you feel much better, my friend. Yes, we want to know "why did you run when you are sick"? Looks like you got out and did some fun things, though. Family time is great. We went to the CSU game and then met up with my friend and her NEW boyfriend for church and lunch. Oh, and 4 football games to watch, too!! Take care of yourself and hope you are on the mend today!

    1. I bet you had so much fun watching football this weekend. Paul had his friends over to watch. He has the nicest friends.

  4. Aww so sorry you are under the weather. At least you got some good family time in so all was not wasted. I cleaned my basement this weekend. How's that for exciting!

  6. You'd think I'd get sick more often being a teacher. I get *mildly* sick a lot... the sore throat/headache combo. But this is bullshit.

  7. I hope you feel better soon. I hate being sick on weekends because that's my time. I'd rather be sick during the week and miss work (haha) and just lay around and be a baby about it. I love that you got to spend time with your family and felt well enough to do that, though.

    1. Whenever I am sick during the week I wish I would've gotten sick on the weekend. Whenever I get sick on the weekend I wish for it to be during the week. I think there is just no good time to be sick!

  8. At least you have an extra day to heal up. I wasn't thrilled being sick on NYE, but I had a long weekend to heal before heading back to work. Second day on the job, and I get that head cold :-/ At least recovering is great for cat snuggles.

    1. Yes today we work but the students aren't here. It's nice to not have to talk and be in charge all day!

  9. I would rather be sick on the weekend. I hate giving up a weekend but being sick while working is the worst. I hate coughing, sniffing and being exhausted while still having to be dressed in work clothes and dealing with people as a professional. I would rather lay in bed all Saturday with a box of tissues while Adam rubs my head and Cecil sleeps on me!

  10. I run when I have a cold too, because it clears everything out. I blow my nose into my mittens. Also, try a hot lemon whiskey! Boil water, pour it over 2 shots of whiskey, squeeze half a lemon into the glass and stir in a spoonful of honey.

  11. I hope you are feeling better!

I love Debby's pink hair! it looks great on her!

There is nothing weird about a turkey burger with cheese melted on top!! We eat this at home often, except with beef patties. Roger goes through his "no bread" periods, and we eat burger without buns. He also goes trough "no beef" periods, but I still eat steak.
