What a weekend! It was extremely busy and emotional, on so many levels...
I tried so hard to get my Women's March on Washington recap done for today, but I worked for 4.5 hours on it and I just had to take a break before figuring out how to upload the videos. Tomorrow, I PROMISE!!!
When my alarm went off, I was nowhere near ready to get out of bed! Even though I went to bed early, I woke up feeling tired. I went for a 6 miler and then Jelly helped me stretch, just like he does every morning.
Work was work. It was raining. It was indoor recess. It was inauguration day. But I'm a good actress. The students had a great day and learned a lot.
After work, I started to get everything prepared for the march the next day. I even broke out my Hillary wine glass! I couldn't think of a better day to break it out!
I was feeling a little anxious for the march, but Chrissy didn't have a care in the world...
Later that evening, my friend Andrea arrived. She crashed at our place since she lives pretty far away and the bus pick up for the march was literally 30 seconds from my house!
She made me a pussy hat for the march!
Even though I was exhausted from marching, I made myself get up at a respectable hour. I ran 6 miles. Whole lower body felt tight... probably from all the walking and sitting on the bus from the day before!
I spend a lot of time catching up on CNN, which I had DVR'ed from the day before. I wanted to see coverage of the march! Oh boy did they cover it!
Then I went to a funeral for a dear friend's husband. The service was absolutely perfect. The music was beautiful, the speakers were heartfelt, and it was just an awe inspiring celebration of life.
When I got home, I blogged about my march experience... which took me HOURS. I'm still not done. But I will be honest, it was fun to relive the experience.
How was your weekend?
What channel do you watch the news on? I am stuck with CNN because it is the only one I get!
Did you march anywhere?

I can't wait to read your full summary & see videos--what an emotional weekend. Funerals are so difficult. We spent our day in Boulder (as you know) on Saturday. Saw Live By Night and really enjoyed it then went for lunch and huge beers. By the time we got home in the afternoon we were both pretty spent (I guess we are lightweights that have a hard time drinking in the middle of the day). Sunday was church then home to be lazy and watch the playoff games. The weekend went to fast...I'm not ready for Monday, but here it is :(
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you had a great weekend with your man! Letin' loose and having mid day beers. :) It's a rainy Monday here in PA. Ugh. I don't mind Mondays too much though because I don't have piano lessons after school. I get to go straight home and CHILL.
Deleteoh, that is wonderful--how many days do you teach piano after school?!?
DeleteJust two but I go until 7!
DeleteYou definitely fit in with your pink cap. I saw plenty of them on the news!
ReplyDeleteI almost got 6 miles in this weekend. My stupid Garmin died at mile 5.65 so that's when I stopped!
That stinks! I freaking hate when my Garmin dies. But actually, I'd rather have that die than my podcasts!
DeleteGood for you. I"m looking forward to your recap.
ReplyDeleteI'll have it up tomorrow! It took so long to write!
DeleteI can't wait to read about the march but you are totally OK in not having that post ready yet because I'm sure it was an emotional experience that you want to relive and also want to take your time writing about so you can look back on it later. It looks like you had a good weekend and I love your pink cap and your zebra coat!
ReplyDeleteIt is nice to have time to reflect on it! I need to go back through it today and edit it a bit. That zebra coat was a Good Will find from about 15 years ago. FIVE BUCKS!!!
DeleteHow amazing to be able to be part of the march! Thank you for going out there !!
ReplyDeleteI love the pink hat! I need one !
Maybe you can order one online??? You should totally get one! Do you knit?
DeleteI'll be honest I don't watch the news, but I followed my friends on social media. A high school was marching in Boston, and my cousin was marching in DC and his IG had pictures and a video.
ReplyDeleteI bet it was fun following your friends!
DeleteI watch CNN, MSNBC and local news. And I marched here in Sacramento.
ReplyDeleteI felt like I was at least doing something.
Good for you! What's your next action?
DeleteI thought about you all weekend. I love those hats! I love Chrissy. Did I march anywhere? Back and forth from the laundry room to the kitchen, and from the van to the store. LAME.
ReplyDeleteYou are lucky! Your prime minister is not bat shit crazy!
DeleteI forgot to ask, how did the cane work out for you?
ReplyDeleteI watch CNN and MSNBC. I also listen to NPR.
It was great! We sat down twice and it was nice to have that option! :) And it will be nice to have it for future events.
