This week's workouts were decided by the weather! I am going to do my very best to lift on the mornings it is less than 15 degrees. Hopefully winter cooperates with my plan!

Saturday: I didn't feel much like running, but two minutes into my run, I heard the hosts of my new favorite podcast (History Goes Bump) give me a shout out at the beginning of their show! Wow, I felt like a celebrity! I am convinced it gave me a little more pep in my step!

Splits: 8:24, 8:42, 8:31, 8:20, 8:09

Sunday: Again, I didn't feel like running, but it was almost 60 degrees so I felt I had to! I really felt I had to when I checked the weather for the next morning. It was going to be 12 degrees on Monday morning. I decided to run and save lifting for the next day. I am glad I ran. Even though I got caught in a rainstorm, I was feeling fresh! I think wearing shorts and a short sleeved shirt helps. I am convinced I am slower when I have multiple layers on.

Splits: 8:05, 7:47, 7:41, 7:33, 7:22

Monday: A warm and cozy workout in my sun room!

Tuesday: 5 miler. I slept 4 hours the night before (and not even all at once!) so my head was not in the game. My legs felt fresh though!

  2. You are a legit celeb! That is awesome, Megan. I got mentioned on a podcast once--I made Rick listen to it I was very excited. Wow, 60 degrees. I would be in heaven. I have not run in above 20 degree weather since the first week in December and the struggle is real. For me it's not so much about the cold as the ice that has not melted! Even though we are getting tons of sunshine the streets in my hood are packed w/ ice. More than once this winter I have driven my car to dryer areas to run (#whateverittakes). My workouts were great. 4 runs, 2 swims and 3 weight training sessions. Tomorrow is my rest day and I am not mad about it. I need it....winter running = just a general achy body. Have an excellent weekend my dear.

    1. I made Paul listen to mine! I was so proud, even though all I did was leave a comment and they read it, hahaha!

Your workouts sound perfect except for having to drive somewhere because of the ice. It is going to get annoying when we start getting snow because I will have the same problem. And our neighborhood is just horrible when it comes to snow and ice. The main roads could be totally clear but ours will still be bad.

  3. I was going to run tomorrow but the high is predicted to be 8. Instead, I made today my return to running. It was 30 degrees and sunny! Lovely!
