Thanks to Snowmegeddon, I got a lot of lifting done this week as well as treadmill runs. This gal isn't afraid of the COLD but she is afraid of the SLIP!

**Note: My left arm is stronger than my right arm! My right was shaking during the last two reps of my 30lb lifts.**

Chrissy is my personal trainer.

I decided to read during rest breaks. Maybe that's why I didn't really break a sweat...

Monday- Boy was I sore from two days of lifting and shoveling! I braved the roads and drove to Planet Fitness for a treadmill workout.

Tuesday: My plan was to go to the gym and run again, but there was black ice on the roads so I decided to stay home. It was too soon to lift again, so I did a circuit workout at my house. It was exhausting!

Wednesday- Steady state treadmill run. 5 miles @ 8:19 pace. I cooled down with a little bit of walking. I was bored the whole time. And I was in pain! Those kettlebell swings from the day before kicked my ass!

Thursday- I scoped out a loop in my neighborhood that wasn't icy so I got to run OUTSIDE! The other good part is that I got to do it in the bright sunshine because we had a two hour delay. The bad part about this run is that every step was torture. Those kettlebell swings gave me some long lasting DOMS!

Avg Pace: 8:37
Splits:  Pretty consistent.

Friday- A 3 miler and a short upper body workout @ home. I have to admit something. I didn't plan on running that morning but I "felt fat". Feeling fat is a horrible reason to run, but I did it. Even though the reason for my running wasn't good, my actual run felt great. What a difference a day makes when you have DOMS!

Splits: 6:49, 8:14, 8:13
What is up with my first mile? I think there was something wrong with my Garmin, I am serious. I felt good, but I don't think I felt that good!

Unassisted Pull Ups- 4 <--- need to work back up to 7!
Band Asst. Pull Ups- 4x6
Row- 5x10x25lb
Bicycle Crunches- 4x40
Stability Ball Knee Tuck- 3x15
Bicep Curls- 3x10x15lb
Band Asst. Pull Ups (neutral grip)- 3x8, 1x6
How were your workouts this week?
Do you ever run extra when you "feel fat"?

  1. I have had days where I feel super bloated and that makes me feel like I need a run. How much weight did you use for the kettle bell swings? Mine is 15 pounds and I didn't' get sore from them. I know you did more sets, but I am wondering if I am doing them wrong or something:)

    1. I used 15lbs as well. The reason I got sore is because I haven't done anything lower body in MONTHS.

  2. I had serious DOMS on Wednesday this week. I've been trialing orthotics, and they must have changed the way I run. I felt like I was 80 years old. The orthotics are coming out of my shoes for marathon training...

    1. Oh wow I didn't know orthotics could do that, but I suppose if they change your gait in a way that you are using different muscles... What hurt?

  3. Way to get it done, Megan! My workouts were nice. I ran in a few different hoods this week to change it up. We are supposed to get MAJOR snow Sunday nite thru Tuesday morning so I am savoring my clear streets and "warm" conditions (35 degrees). I am dreading dealing w/ the snow again but trying to stay positive. I already have my rest day planned for Monday.

    1. Eh sorry you are getting more snow! It seems like as soon as the roads get clear, you get another storm!

  4. 30 lbs :) Kick butt! I have backed down some of my weights, I can't get my shoulders to cooperate fully. This has not been my best week, but I enjoyed a few days of home boding...work is so busy right now from the second I get there till the second I leave. This is our busiest time the next few months.
I have been doing kettle bell squats lately, I should probably add swings back in :)
    I can't even tell you how "fat" I feel...ugh

    1. Why is it so busy right now? K registration? Budget stuff?

Feeling fat is the worst. :( Especially cause our brains know we AREN'T fat.

    2. okay this morning my scales says I am actually getting fatter :( Gotta get this under control.
Since I work at a Tech Center now, all the county kids come to visit and we have open house. When they come for the field trip I have to schedule them all - quite a process, then we get applications and have to log and send letters - yes or no...it a long process.
K registration was easier! but i like this job better :)

  5. Yes yes yes I have DEFINITELY run extra when I've felt fat. Matt tells me people would punch me if I ever said it out loud, lol. But I totally understand what you mean.

I love that Chrissy keeps close supervision of you while you workout. :)
