How to do assisted pull ups at home- VLOG!

Related Posts Plugin for WordPress, Blogger...
We interrupt your regularly scheduled blog post for a Meg Go Run VLOG!

In the video below, I will show you my pull up bar and all the fun things you can do with it! Such as... pull ups, assisted pull ups, push ups, and tricep dips! But enough talk, let's get to the video!

Yes, I should have shaved my armpits before making this video, but in my defense, the darkness is 60% shadow, 40% hair.

Do you have a pull up bar at home?
Who wants more videos? I'm always excited to do them but then I run out of ideas!

  1. Thank you so much Meg (and Paul) for this video. I have been so wanting to learn to do a pull up but am so far from that goal I never even try. I will be doing this for sure! Awesome!

    1. You gotta start somewhere! And of course just lifting in general- targeting your back and shoulders- will help you get stronger to do pull ups.

  2. I had no idea there was a way to do assisted pull-ups with a bar with a resistance band - how cool. I can't believe that the bar just stays in place like that without being screwed into the wall or anything!!

I wish the resistance band I bought a couple of weeks ago was labeled easy, medium or hard. I just bought the one that was on clearance not really knowing what it was, and it's not very flexible (is that the right word?) at all. It's got 25lbs of resistance so I hardly use it for anything other than that weird but satisfying couch stretch that you do laying down on the ground.

    1. The only bands I ever bought specified at least vaguely how resistant they were. But hey, you can't beat clearance workout equipment!

I know, the bar just staying there thing is really scary. As Paul would say, "It's physics."

  3. My roommate and I have been talking about getting a pull-up bar for our apartment because we both are trying to build up our non-existent arm strength. We will definitely be referencing your video when we get one!

  5. I love tricep dips and usually use a chair seat to do them. I like that your pullup bar can be used multiple ways. We have one that I never use but maybe I should!

I love your videos; it's so fun to hear your voice!

  6. Very cool. I think I may even have a pull-up bar in the basement--I always thought that it was a piece to the bowflex...hmmm. I will have to ask Dave about that! You are very strong...Working on just regular push-ups!!

  7. I love when you share videos!!! I don't have the band for assisted pull-ups but I use a step stool and it works for me:)

  8. Great video-thank you! Oh, and shaving is overrated. My shaving sessions are few and far between...I don't have a pull-up bar, but would love to get one. I have loved all the videos I have watched of yours, and would love more. You have so much to offer, I am sure any idea relating to exercise you have would benefit us ;)

  9. You are so cute! I think I have a girl crush on you. My brother had a pull-up bar that I would use when working out at home, but he was an ass and decided to take it with him when he moved away. How rude!

Tell your brother you will race him for the pull up bar. Winner gets it. Then it's yours. :)
