Signs it's summertime....

- It's 3:00 am and I'm still watching Youtube videos.

- There is a thick layer of cat hair (thicker than normal) coating the entire house.

- Most days, my wardrobe goes like this: jammies, workout clothes, back into jammies.

- June 26th was the first day in two and a half weeks I had to set my alarm.

- 10:23 pm is a perfectly acceptable time to dye my hair.

- I don't know what day of the week it is.

- I start clicking on links such as: "Kim Kardashian shares gym selfie while daughter North is napping", and "Inside Prince George's Life".

-My legs are more often shaved than not shaved.

-I start lurking and intermittently posting in Big Brother message boards.

-Random shows start popping up on my DVR- like Fashion Police and The Test. And they get watched.

-My sports bra tan comes back full force.

How do you know it's SUMMERTIME?

  1. I heart summer!

    Signs I know it's summer:
    - our fruit bowl contains more than just bananas--love all the fruits that are in season now.
    - I am totally comfortable wearing my swimsuit + shorts --> all day long
    - we spend a few nights a week watching our 10 year old nephews play baseball
    - I have to wear an eye mask to bed since I stick to my early bed time and sometimes it is still a bit light out....(yes, I am a senior citizen)
    - the days I work from home, I hear the ice cream truck driving down our street
    - and the biggest way I know it's summer: I am not all bitchy about cold/snow and pretty much have a smile on my face 24/7

    HAPPY SUMMER, MEG!

    1. Oh your last one made me laugh! I go to bed really early during the school year so if I had to work in the summer I'd wear a eye mask too!

    2. Let's just say I am never proud of my "winter behavior". This past winter was tough. Poor Rick. This year, I am gonna rise to the challenge and get some snow shoes so I feel I can safely go out and get some fresh air and a workout. I'll keep you posted. LOL.

  2. PJs, workout clothes, PJs--- that's my life in the summer too. I actually get a little annoyed when I have to do something that requires "real people" clothing. I also do not know what day it is... and I've been working! Yesterday I told my aide to have a nice weekend. Whoops... Still one more day to go...

    1. I can't even imagine! I mean, it gets really hot here but I am sure it is nothing like AZ.

  4. I'm a little jealous of your summer after reading this! For me it's fun things like my kids don't go to sleep until 9, lots of complaints about mosquito bites, gnat traps set all over my house, and we eat dinner at 6:30 instead of 4:30. Enjoy yourself!

  5. How I know it's summer: the sun is still up when I go for my evening runs. I always really miss that in the fall and winter!!

    1. Good one! If I got up early enough in the summer I would enjoy it getting light out earlier, alas, this has been the summer of sleeping in for me. It's not always like that...

  6. lmao this is all so me. How about...sleeping until an embarrassingly late hour because apparently I never outgrew my teens? I don't think I'll ever be an adult and wake up at a decent time!

    1. Hey we work it hard during the school year and keep our shit together. During the summer we have earned the right to act like teenagers! :)

  7. I remember how great those days were!! Sadly, I set my alarm every day now but it is the only way to make sure I have plenty of time to workout so I do it:)

    1. I understand! During the school year my alarm is set too. I gotta get my workout in before work or else I will be a very grumpy teacher.

  8. Love this post!!!
Signs of summer for me are 1. Shaving more than usual and 2. Not knowing what day of the week it is either!
I always have to look at the damn calendar!! :)
