Man, this was a rough week. School left me exhausted. I was really no fun at all for Paul because I would come home from work, teach my piano lessons, eat, and go to bed. I didn't have any energy until Thursday.
I still got my workouts in! I do them first thing in the morning, before I have time to change my mind!
I still got my workouts in! I do them first thing in the morning, before I have time to change my mind!
Saturday- 6 torturous miles. It was all I could do to run a 10 minute pace! I did 4 miles at Adventure Park while Paul played disc golf and then 2 miles in my neighborhood. I had to break up the run or I would have had to walk!
Sunday- Lifting upper body @ home and YARD WORK. I think the yard work was harder than lifting, which I guess means I didn't try very hard during my workout! I annahilated part of a bush and had to cut it all up. I have blisters all over my hands!
Monday- 6 mile run before work. Wow, I need running now that I am back to the grind!
Tuesday- 6 morning miles. I love listening to my Big Brother podcasts in the morning. Sometimes I feel a little homesick but my podcasts are "homey" and comforting.
Wednesday- Lifting. Would have rather gone running BUT it's not good for me to run every day and skip lifting.
Thursday- 6 miles. I have been running the same 1.5 mile loop four times in the morning. I don't even take my Garmin. I just count the loops and call it a day.
Friday- 6 miles again. You see a theme? It's called the same damn thing every damn morning... Oh well, I like routine. Especially during the school year!
Looks like a great week of working out considering you also started school and were stressed! I'm glad you got the runs and lifting in and I am with you on the yard work. It can be a workout too and definitely counts (it's the only real upper body workout I get anyway haha).
ReplyDeleteThe runs definitely helps the school stress, for sure.
DeleteI bet! I am sure it is more peaceful in the summer, right???
ReplyDeleteThats interesting that you say "homesick". I do feel that way when my family is home during the summer and I'm working. Trust me, it leaves me a bit irked too when I get home and they haven't cleaned the house one bit! :) I think it would be a bit of a hard transition for me to go back to work after being home all summer! Week 2 will be less exhausting when you get back in the swing of your routine I bet! Fingers crossed!!
ReplyDeleteI hope so! I have been enjoying being back at work and feeling like I am contributing something to the world, so I hate to sound like I am complaining. I just don't think I was this tired last year, so I'm sure it's just the transition. I hope my body soon realizes that it can handle being a teacher!!!!
DeleteYes, it is weird, I feel homesick in the mornings sometimes right when I wake up... which is weird because I am at home. But running my route and having my normal podcasts are comforting. I'm glad you get what I mean!
Starting back to school is tough! Nice job getting all those workouts in too the first week
ReplyDeleteThanks Deborah! I need them to stay sane.
DeleteThere is definitely something nice about having a consistent routine! Great job getting in your workouts even with it being the first week of school.
ReplyDeleteThank you Lisa! Workouts were key to my sanity!
