When I was a kid, my dad made up all kinds of fun games to play with us. I can remember a couple, but I'm sure I can't remember them all.
One game was called "Don't Get On My Back While I'm Sleeping". Dad would pretend he was taking a nap, and whatever we did, we weren't supposed to get on his back while he was sleeping. Well of course the whole point of the game was for us to try to sneak over and jump on his back without him "waking up" and chasing us back to the couch.
He also hid tiny chocolate morsels around the living room for us to find and eat. We were always climbing on him like a jungle gym, or he was laying on his back and balancing us in the air with his feet. Another game he played was where he would carry us around the house with our eyes closed and we had to try to guess what room we were in. That was fun!
But one of my FAVORITE games my dad played with me was Magic Carpet Ride. He turned on Steppenwolf's Magic Carpet Ride song and would "fly" my around the house. I sat criss cross while he held me in front of him. It was MAGICAL, the Magic Carpet Ride game. And I am so lucky I had a creative dad who liked to play with us!
