Happy Wednesday!

Related Posts Plugin for WordPress, Blogger...My blog posts are always scheduled ahead of time, but when I went to bed last night, I realized I had nothing scheduled for this morning! I shrugged my shoulders and figured I'd write something when I got up! So never fear, if your daily Meg Go Run wasn't posted right at 5:30 today, I am still alive!

We have another snow day. In Central PA, we're supposed to get lots of snow for the first half of the day and freezing rain for the second half of the day. This winter just keeps on delivering the weather.

My plans for the day are to go running, grocery shopping, buy a dust buster on Amazon, and clean my house. I would basically like to be as productive as possible.

So that's it, just popping in! Oh, I had a photo shoot with Christmas this morning. Some mornings he likes to cuddle with me in bed. He hops right up and curls up under my arm...

Happy Wednesday!

A Day in My Life

Hola, Meg Go Run Readers!

Sometimes, it's weird to think I have readers... people that read my blog every day. I know you are out there, and you may not comment. It's hard to believe there are people who are strangers to me that know a whole lot about my life!

Are you ready to hear a whole lot about my Tuesday? Well buckle up, it's a Day In My Life post!

My day started at 4:15. Yes, that's a little earlier than normal. I was dreaming that I was in my new car and Jelly was scratching on the door. In actuality, Jelly was scratching my bedroom door. I got up to feed him and then I was just up for good.

Christmas wanted fed... Chrissy, you don't get fed at this hour!!!

I had exactly two Keurigs left. I wanted to save one for Paul, but this happened....

So I had to use the last two. When I was at Rutter's the day before, I put a bunch of these in my pocket! That's not stealing, right!?

I hit the gym to lift and do a deck of cards workout. My right achilles was a little sore... I don't know why. I decided to take the day off running.

We had a professional development day at work. The first three hours was listening to a speaker talk about reading and writing research. It was good info, but I have trouble sitting for three hours straight. This is my "OMG I HAVE TO SIT FOR THREE HOURS???" face.

At lunch I went to Wal Mart and stocked up on those Keurigs I ran out of... They are my fav!

My afternoon was much better than my morning. I got to catch up and collaborate with my friend Karen, who has my job at the other elementary school in our district. I love her and she is so wise!!!

After work I had therapy. Then I needed some chips, olives, and cider to replenish all the calories I burned via self reflection!

Dinner was quiche (what else is new) and sleep was early (again, no surprise).
How was your Monday?

Weekend Wrap Up!

It was an interesting weekend!
Here's what I was up to...

My day started dark and early with 6 neighborhood miles. It was nearly 40 degrees, which feels quite toasty to me these days! Guys, I was FLYING and I wasn’t even trying! I know why… I barely got any sleep and I ate a huge meal at like midnight the night before. I know that sounds crazy, but when I do stuff like that, I usually have a great run the next day!

I will be honest, work was a struggle. I wasn’t tired, I just wasn’t there mentally. It didn’t even feel like a Friday thanks to all the delays and snow days we had this week. I sort of felt like I didn’t deserve a Friday!

I was very relieved when work was over, but I couldn’t go home! I took my mom’s sweet mini van over to a Mazda dealership to test out a Mazda CX-3. In case you missed the car drama… I need a new car.

Not gonna lie, I love sitting up high in a mini van!

The CX-3 was way too small...

So I tried the CR-5... which was perfect but too expensive. Sigh. How do people afford cars??? This was the "Grand Touring" model and had ALL the bells and whistles.

But I had an idea. When I got home, I went online and searched for other CX-5s that didn't have all the bells and whistles and had more miles on them. I found a red one that was actually in my price range! I planned to go out first thing the next morning and check it out.

Later that night, Paul and I played cards and watched Colbert.

Then I fell asleep on the couch. I never fall asleep on the couch! I look super comfortable, don't I?

I was the first customer in Faulkner Honda at 9:00 on Saturday morning. It was a long process, but it turns out the car I had found online the day before was AMAZING and I bought it! Everyone at Faulkner was so nice. Buying the car was scary (I'm still scared!) but everyone there made it an easy experience.

I got a 2016 Mazda CX5. It's certified preowned. It has so many bells and whistles that my 2008 Cobalt did not have. I could list them all for you, but you wouldn't think it was that exciting because they are probably features that are standard for cars these days!

The red actually looks brighter in real life!

This is my OH MY GOD I HAVE A CAR PAYMENT face!

Paul loves the car! It's our car. When I got home, I showed him all the features I remembered how to use, then we took it for a spin to Weis. I love my car!

I went for a celebratory trail run, but it SUCKED. The trail was snowy and icy. While runnable, it just wasn't fun. I only did three miles and then came home to finish up the rest of my run in my neighborhood. I just wasn't feeling the trail conditions...

I had a pretty standard evening... played cards, drank wine, ate quiche!
Allison and I met at South Middleton Park for an 8 miler bright and early. It was quite chilly! We ran at a pretty good clip and were able to catch up on what has been going on in our lives. I hadn't seen Allison in so long!

Then Paul and I headed up to Millersburg for my Grandma's 90th birthday party!!!! I'll be honest... driving an hour and a half round trip is more fun in a MAZDA CX-5!!!!!!!!!

What were you up to this weekend?
Do you think you'll live 'till 90!!?

I am excited AND terrified because...

... I bought a new car!

Well, not brand new. Certified preowned.

It's a 2016 Mazda CX-5 Touring. It's actually a 2016 and a half. Mazda released a second model in 2016 with some better features... like heated seats!

Having this car is like a whole new world for me. You have to understand that for the past 10 years, I had a tiny Chevy Cobalt. It had no technology. I mean, the windows rolled down. My 11 year old niece didn't even know how to use the windows!

I walked in the doors of Faulkner Mazda the minute they opened at 9:00 on Saturday morning. I had the stock number of the car I wanted to see. I had researched THE SHIT out of a bunch of cars, and I was hoping the car I picked was good in person as it seemed to be online.

Jon helped me out and took me for a test drive. I had test driven the same model car the day before, so I knew I would like it. As we drove around Harrisburg, he explained some of the features to me. The price was right. I was in love. I wanted the car.

My favorite aspect of the car is the fact that there is more room. I also like sitting up high. The navigation and smart features are really cool as well. So are the heated seats. This car doesn't even have a key. There is a button to start it. GUYS, I'M FINALLY IN THE 21ST CENTURY!!!

It is terrifying to me to have a car payment again. I haven't had a car payment in YEARS. It's also terrifying to buy something so expensive. Besides my house, this is the most expensive thing I have ever bought.

This is my I HAVE A CAR PAYMENT AGAIN face.

Even though it is scary and overwhelming, I am very excited. I feel like I finally have an adult car. I also feel like I deserve a nice car. Paul doesn't drive, so I'm always the one behind the wheel. I deserve to be comfortable. And since he's the passenger, he can become and expert at all the techno stuff and teach me how to use it! I mean there are screens and buttons and all this shit where it's like THIS IS TOO MUCH!!!

In real life, the red is much brighter.

Everyone at Faulkner Mazda in Harrisburg was very nice, and even though it is nerve wracking to make such a big financial commitment, they made the process super easy! I highly recommend the dealership!

Now here is the crazy thing... My best friend Maren ALSO BOUGHT THE EXACT SAME CAR TODAY!!!! We didn't even talk about buying new cars and she bought the same thing!!! What are the odds!!??

Weekly Workouts!

Related Posts Plugin for WordPress, Blogger...

I'm a running machine. That is all.

Saturday- 6 miles on the treadmill and 4 miles on the trail. No pictures, but I swear it happened!

Sunday- Lifting at Planet Fitness and 6 neighborhood miles. I had exercise ADD! Oh, and can you tell I am getting faster? Sorry I keep mentioning it, but I just can't believe it because of how freaking slow I got this past summer!

Monday- 3 miles and a deck of cards workout. I woke up to a snow covered neighborhood! Luckily, we had a two hour delay and I have easy access to Planet Fitness. I headed over there to run 3 miles and do a deck of cards workout.

Tuesday- 6 neighborhood miles in the freezing rain. I had every intention of running at the gym but my car wouldn't start! That sort of threw a wrench into my day! Luckily it was a snow day and it didn't happen on a day I had to go to work!

Wednesday- Carport deck of cards workout. We had a two hour delay, so I headed out for a neighborhood run at 8am. Even though the roads looked clear, they were very slippy! I didn't even make it a quarter mile before I turned around and walked home. The ice was black, you couldn't see it. I didn't have a car so I couldn't go to the gym, so I resorted to a deck of cards workout in my carport. I'm lucky I have a cardio option if I can't run!

Thursday- 8 treadmill miles and a VERY SHORT lifting session. Light weight, high rep. I just needed a little something!

Friday-   6 neighborhood miles. My bag was all packed for the gym but for some reason I was feeling like a homebody. I went outside in fleece tights, a long sleeve, and a vest, but immediately went back inside and ditched the tights for shorts and took off my vest.

How were your workouts this week?
