PART 2!!!
If you don’t know
what’s going on… read Part 1 HERE.
Short story: We
are going on a South West Road Trip this summer!
Thank you so far
for everyone’s suggestions! KEEP THEM COMING! Because of your input, I am
considering renting a more comfortable car and finding a way to make it to
Sedona while we are in AZ.
Now, I’ll share some of the things we are most looking forward to
during the second part of our trip. And of course, if you live in these areas
or have traveled to these areas and have suggestions/tips for us, I would be
more than happy to hear from you!
Las Vegas Exciting
Activities
We don’t gamble, and
we don’t want to drop a couple hundred dollars to see a show, so we are
basically just going to walk around and look at all the free stuff there is to
see… including, but not limited to…
Bellagio Fountains
Too bad Jelly can't come. He loves his cat fountain so he'd go ape shit for these!
New York, New York The Venetian Casino and Grand Canal The Mirage Volcano
MGM Grand Paris and the Eiffel Tower Experience
Just bopping around and seeing all of the crazy sights!
Breakfast at Mon Ami Gabi
I like to google things like "best places to have breakfast in Vegas"
and this place has come up in every article!

San Diego Exciting
Activities
I am so excited for the San Diego portion
of our trip! I have never been anywhere tropical. Not that San Diego is
tropical, but it is close enough for me!
Sushi!!!!
How are we going to do all that? I don't know!
And why are all my fonts different sizes even though I made them all one size? I don't know!
If you have any suggestions or tips for me, please let me
know in the comments! Particularly, I would like to know if there are any good places to run in San Diego!
When we were in San Diego we had dinner at the Gaslamp Quarter which is awesome and filled w/ restaurants & shops. You might enjoy checking it out.
ReplyDeleteGaslamp Quarter is actually bookmarked. Is it a nice just kind of "walk around and see what's going on/explore" type of place?
DeleteSounds so exciting. Hoover dam is really interesting, people always think I am a nut when I say that, but it is! It sounds like a WONDERFUL trip!
ReplyDeleteI don't think you are a nut! I love historical stuff like that and learning all the facts. :)
DeleteIf you end up wanting to see a show while you're in Vegas I cannot recommend Cirque du Soleil's O show enough. Adam and I have seen almost all of the Cirque shows and that one was literally the best overall show I've ever seen in my life. The coolest part is that because of the way it's performed the best seats are actually the ones at the top where they are cheaper by default! Zumanity is also a funny show if you are in the mood for a bit of adult humor, and I think it's one of the least expensive Cirque shoes. Just some tips in case you get there and decide you do want to see a show!
ReplyDeleteYou can also run the strip in the early morning when everyone else is still sleeping. This is the post I used to plan my route last year: http://www.joggingroutes.org/2010/12/las-vegas-strip-usa.html (although I never ended up running it because I slept in, haha)
I would loooooove to see a Cirque show and you know we really should just splurge and do it. We're in LV so why not, right? I will talk to Paul. So much to think about!
DeleteDid you like running on the strip?
I have never been to either of those places so I have no suggestions, but I am totally jealous! I'm mostly jealous of the road trip part - a cross country road trip is on my bucket list. I hope it's amazing!
ReplyDeleteWellllll we are flying to Denver so not exactly cross country. I have no desire to drive across the entire country unless maybe I was in a motor home. A luxury one!
DeleteTHERE ARE REAL FLAMINGOS AT THE FLAMINGO?
ReplyDeleteMind. Blown.
Thanks for the Planet Hollywood tip. I will put it on my list of "walk around and see for free" stuff. :)
I was totally going to comment about the flamingos! They are in a little garden area with some other animals, very fun! Definitely have a plan for the strip - the places you said are ALL over the strip! A HUGE TIP - the hotels are spread out further than you think. While you are walking on the strip, it looks like the next hotel would be 5 min away but it ends up being 20 minutes! IT IS A LOT OF WALKING! When we were there we split up the strip into "three parts" to spread it out.
ReplyDeleteBut I do agree, lots of fun free stuff to do and look at :) We also did the Eiffel Tower (at night) and it was fun! But I preferred the Stratosphere!
Also the Hoover Dam is a really magnificent sight! You are also in two states at once - Arizona and Nevada, make you take a picture on the state lines :)
You are right, everything does look like it is really close together! Thank you for the tip. :) We will only be there one night so maybe I need to highlight my map with the things we most want to see and then if we have time we can check out the other stuff. I will have to look at the stratosphere more. It looked really cool. Can you just go up to the top and look out?
DeleteThe Hoover Dam was pretty cool! I recommend finding good shows etc for evening because just being out in the streets of Vegas at night can be a little over-stimulating and crazy lol!
ReplyDeleteNow I am wondering if we should go. Paul really does NOT want to go to Vegas only I do. But I don't know who I would go with if I didn't go with him! I need more friends.
DeleteSounds like you are going to have a super trip and be busy most of the time - can't wait to see all the pictures later.
ReplyDeleteI have not been to any of those places but your title now has to Go Gos in my head, lol.
