Tuesday... Oh, what a day!
My day started at 2:14. That's around the time the cats have been waking me up for their breakfast.
Normally, I can fall back asleep and dream blissfully until my alarm goes off at 5:30. I tried to fall back asleep but it just wasn't happening. Finally, at 4:30, I admitted defeat and got out of bed.
Luckily, I got a lot of sleep over the four day weekend, so I figured I'd be able to make it through the long day I had planned.
My students seemed a little sleepy in the morning. Music class is no fun when the kids aren't energized!
My lunch.
Just wanted to show you I eat things other than cheese curls.
My afternoon at work is crazy. I teach from 11:55-3:15 straight with no breaks. It is hard to not take a bathroom break!
As I was leaving work, there was a STORM a-brewing and my phone kept beeping with severe weather alerts- thunderstorms!
After work, I taught some piano lessons, and then I was supposed to head out to to Fleet Feet Sports in Mechanicsburg to participate in a group run with Meb Keflezighi.
That's right, Meb!!!!!!!
I wouldn't have even known about this run if it weren't for Ana!
But unfortunately it was still thundering and lightening, and it was supposed to storm the whole night. I'm not afraid of rain, but I DON'T run in lightening. Not even for Meb. (I'd maybe run in lightening for Hillary Clinton.)
I'm sure I still could've shown up at the store but I know the roads would be crazy and I wasn't sure what I would've said to Meb anyway... I could tell him how when I want to ugly cry, I watch this video, but that's a little weird, right?
So instead, I showered, poured a glass of wine, and chilled with this baby. He's not afraid of shit!
Jelly was in the basement, but Chrissy likes to live on the edge during storms!
My dinner was divine... cheese curls on a salad. At least the cheese curls are made from REAL CHEESE. ;)
I went to bed super early. Can you blame me? Hopefully I get some good sleep tonight!
Have you ever met a famous athlete?
Who would you meet if you could?
Is there anyone you would run in the lightening with?

Through race expos i've met several famous athletes but ya know what, I just don't get all fangirl. I don't mean to sound snobish but famous people don't impress me. It rained here too and I was worried about Baylee once. I heard Thunder but it only thundered once and it didn't last long.
ReplyDeleteI love meeting famous people but most people I want to meet aren't like HUGE stars. My 3 fav people I met are Nancy Grace, Terry Gross, and Joy Behar. :)
DeleteMy mom took us to Bronco's training camp when we were young so I met a lot of those players from the 70s/80s! I am terrified of lightening. That would have been awesome to run with Meb! But you made the right call, IMO!
ReplyDeleteYeah I don't want to die!
DeleteI did get to meet Desi Linden, Ryan Hall and Meb at the Boston Marathon in 2016. It was pretty cool!
ReplyDeleteI never really thought about being limited on when (and how long!!) you could use the bathroom as a teacher. It's one of those things I take for granted at my job for sure!
Was Meb nice???
DeleteFor the few minutes we chatted he seemed very nice. From all of the interviews I have seen about him, he seems pretty down to earth!
DeleteWhat was happening Monday night? I had an awful time sleeping, too!
ReplyDeleteBummer you missed out on that run with Meb! That would have been epic!
It would have been cool! But you know what, if I really wanted to meet him somewhere like and expo or something I probably could. It was just so convenient that it was near my house.
DeleteWhen I was in college, I met Joe Paterno, years before the child abuse problems came to light. He was ok. I also had classes with some of the PSU football players, but it annoyed them that I didn't know who they were.
ReplyDeleteOur concert last night got cancelled half way through, due to lightening. We hang out at the gardens for a while (it was at Longwood) hoping we would get to meet the performer, but it didn't happen. I was willing to risk the lightening, as there were 200 other people that it could have hit there.
Haha and as long as you're not the tallest, right? That suuuuucks your concert got cancelled halfway. I am sorry. :(
DeleteI met Jenny Simpson and Emma Coburn back in March. CU hosted an event for alums, and since my dad's one, he got us tickets. I'm not ashamed to admit I pushed my way past kids to have pictures with them. I'm more seasoned at lines than the kids are.
ReplyDeleteI had to Google who those people were! I'm glad you got to meet them. :)
DeleteOh that would have been awesome but I totally get it! I hate driving and being out in thunderstorms.
ReplyDeleteMe too! It's very scary.
