Weekend Wrap Up- Part 2

Happy TUESDAY!

I hope you had a long weekend like I did.
It was so long that I decided to split my wrap up into two posts!

And keep reading for Sunday-Monday!

When I woke up it was dreary. I didn't feel like doing anything. I had to go over to Harrisburg and check on Bitty Bot, but that was fine because I drank my coffee and listened to podcasts on the way there. Bitty Bot was excited to see me and rubbed all over me!

When I arrived home, Paul had just woken up. Our plan was to go to Swatara State Park and go for a run/hike. (Me running, him hiking.) Both of us didn't feel like going, but we knew we didn't have other plans so we should get out of the house.

Unfortunately I was in such a sour mood. I was like... sad, very tired (sleepy tired), and suddenly irrationally afraid I'd get attacked by a bear. WTF? I decided to just start running and maybe I'd feel better.

It was weird, but even though I was sleepy tired, my legs felt fresh. I ran the A loop over and over again until I got in 6 miles. (There are actually 7 loops total, and normally I run all of them.)

Paul and I met up on the trail and walked to our car. I was glad I got a run in but still wasn't super happy. I couldn't wait to go home, have lunch, and lay on the couch for the rest of the night.

Tomato basil soup, tortilla chips, and a grilled ham and cheese sandwich.
Good food for when you are feeling crappy.

So yeah, that is basically what I did! Laid on the couch and watched 3 episodes of Big Brother 12 with Paul. Later that night I do pop over to see Bitty Bot. SHE IS A BABY!!!

Oh, this is what I had for dinner. Salad with cheese curls. Ya all think this is gross but really you are jealous!

MONDAY

Woo hoo! It's nice to not have to work on a Monday. And that also means... 4 day work week coming up!

As soon as I woke up (a little later than I wanted to) I flew over to check on Bitty Bot. Then I went to a Zumba with Cat class at Olympic Skating Rink in Enola. It was only $5 and we danced for an hour and ten minutes! (Note: Cat is the instructor. This is not a "bring your cat to Zumba" class, although that would be FUN!

I was exhausted. I go HARD at Zumba. And I always think I will have energy leftover. I tell myself I will go for a 3 miler after class or I will lift. Nope. Never do it. Zumba was enough of a workout!

I hit up Aldi and then went home for a yummy post Zumba meal!

I LOVE CHEESE CURLS!

The rest of the day was spent doing stuff to get ready for the week. Like...

1. Laying out all of my clothes.

 Workout clothes...

Work clothes...

2. Cooking.

Squash from my garden!

3. Packing my lunches for the week.

And that's it! Sorry, not the most exciting two days but tomorrow should be VERY exciting!!!! Yes, I'm going to keep you hanging...
Are you afraid of bears in the woods?
Cheese curls on a salad: yay or nay?
What are your rituals to prepare for the work week?

  1. Because I run in wooded areas, i'm actually very frightened I will run into a bear. I try not to think about it too much though.
It was not dreary here on Sunday but it was on Saturday. I can't even remember what we did but probably a lot of what you did, lay around the house! I really enjoyed these 4 days off!

    1. Have you ever seen a bear? I have not. I imagine it would be so freaking terrifying!

  2. I never run in wooded areas but if I did I would be concerned with wild life--no question! For work week prep, I usually set aside about 3 outfits since some days I work from home and make sure I have my breakfast/lunch taken care of.

    1. Yeah in Colorado you have LOTS of wildlife to worry about!

  3. The salad covered in cheese puffs is perfection!! I need some cheese puffs soon!

    Bitty Bot is so cute!!

I got my son and my clothes ready for the week. I also packed his lunch for the next two days... only for the two days, because I ran out of his cucumbers. On the nights that my son is with me, we read for 20 minutes, then listen to a book as he is going to sleep. Last night the book got too exciting and he couldn't fall asleep.

    1. Get the cheese puffs at Aldi! They are so good. :) I love you and your son's nighttime rituals. What book are you reading with him now? What kinds of books does he like?

  4. I saw there's a bear in Golden who's not afraid of humans, and the local news was talking with rangers. they had all these tips about dealing with bears and I thought, that's it. I'm not going to Golden.

  5. I have seen deer on a few runs as well as some gators (they were far away). I've also seen quite a few snakes, dead armadillos, etc. I live in a rural turned suburban area and often see more roadkill than pedestrians out of my runs.

I love that you ate cheese curls after your zumba class. As a blogger, I love that you keep it real and eat like a normal human being, instead of only posting pictures of super healthy foods or weird stuff. Half the time I question if bloggers really eat those things or if it's just for show.

I laid around the house a lot this weekend! That's the fun of having time off work, you gotta relax and NOT LABOR on Labor Day!

    1. GATORS!!! Omg! Are they in water? Near water? There are no gators or armadillos here. We unfortunately have a lot of road kill here in PA... skunks, squirrels, raccoons. It's weird because we drove sooooo much in Cali and didn't see any roadkill!

Oh girl, you know I don't eat anything for show. :) I don't like those types of bloggers either. Also, I used to have an eating disorder so the fact that I am able to have a handful of cheese curls (okay maybe two handfuls) after Zumba and not feel guilty about it is such a gift!

I'm glad you had a relaxing labor day off!
