You.

Have you watched the Netflix show You yet? If not, STOP READING THIS POST AND GO WATCH IT! There are only ten episodes, and I think most people would enjoy it. I repeat, do not read this post if you think you may watch the series because I don't want to spoil anything for you!

I feel like I should have taken notes as I watched the show, but I didn't think I would write a blog post about it. So here are just some random thoughts about You that I wanted to share...

1. I hated the character Beck. Her voice was so affected, she made terrible choices, she was all easy breezy... Actually, maybe I am just jealous of how relaxed she always was!?

2. I didn't like Paco either. Am I a terrible person?

3. Does Beck ever take off all of those bracelets? Did you notice she had a million bracelets stacked up her forearm? I swear she never took them off! I guess it's her "thing".

4. Why did Beck masturbate in front of her STREET LEVEL WINDOW IN FULL VIEW??? I will never understand this. Seriously, she was just asking to get stalked...

5. I knew Peach liked Beck well before it was revealed to the audience. And I do feel like I need to brag about this because usually I am not that good at picking up subtle clues in movies and television shows.

6. Beck could have easily escaped after discovering the creepy box in Joe's bathroom. Girl, just tell him you have diarrhea and get the fuck out of there! You could have easily been in the hallway/public area well before he discovered all that glass on the floor. Beck, you are SO STUPID.

7. Beck also had two chances to REALLY kill Joe down in the basement of the bookstore but she chickened out. That's what got her killed. Ladies, do not injure the motherfucker who is stalking you. KILL HIM!!!! Stab him with the typewriter keys FIVE times. Hit him over the head with the hammer TEN times.

8. Was Candace real at the end or was Joe imagining her!? Inquiring minds want to know...
Tell me your thoughts on You!

Just what I needed.

Tuesday was a looooooong ass day. It wasn't a bad day, it was just long. As soon as I got done teaching piano lessons I checked my phone. I had two missed calls and a text from my credit card company. Someone used my card at an MTA LIRR station. $594.00 was charged.

WTF!? What could you buy for $594.00 at an MTA station? (Paul suggested perhaps a lifetime pass for free rides, but I don't think that exists.)

So even though all I wanted to do was shower, pour a glass of wine, and relax, I had to deal with that bullshit.

They are closing my current card and rushing a new credit card to me and it should be here on Thursday. This is the second time this has happened to me! I know the credit card company is going to put a hold on my card and make me call in and answer a bunch of questions every time I want to make a payment. The last time this happened, I had to do that for over a year! I'm not going to deal with that again. If that's how it's going to be, I'm closing my account and will take my business elsewhere!
Ever have fraud on your credit card?

Running with my BRO and DADDIO & hiking with my SIL!

It was a weekend of family, fitness, and trails!

On Saturday morning, I met my dad and brother at Sherwood Drive for a run on the AT. The plan was to go North for as long as conditions allowed and then turn around.

My dad brought some cleats along for my brother and I to try. The ones he gave me just wrap around my shoes. I loved them! I've worn cleats before and they were clunky and falling off of me. I couldn't even notice I was wearing these.

The cleats were definitely crucial as there were many parts of the trail that were icy. I would not have been able to enjoy the run at all if it wasn't for the extra traction. And Dad is letting me keep the cleats. Thanks, Daddio!

The temps were brisk but the trail was beautiful and surprisingly runnable. I hauled ass to the top of the Cumberland Overlook and waited for Tyler and Dad to catch up.

Then we continued up the mountain and down the other side just a bit. The snow was really deep on the other side of the mountain and it didn't look like it was going to be much fun to run in. We decided to turn around and head back to the car.

My Garmin hadn't even hit 6 miles so I figured I'd do a couple loops of my neighborhood when I got home. But as I drove home and relaxed in my heated seats, I realized I just had a really hard run up a mountain and I did not need to run two extra miles. I should just go home, shower, eat quiche, and relax. So that's just what I did!

On Sunday afternoon, I picked Debby up and drove us over to the Conewago Rail Trail. We didn't want to hike through snow and ice, so the rail trail it was. It wasn't too cold, and Debby is a fast walker, so we were booking it!

Around mile three, I wanted to turn around. My hip flexors were sore and my back hurt! Walking is no. freaking. joke. Why can I run for hours and feel fine, but walking for an hour and a half kills me!?

Debby could have kept going, so I felt a little bad holding her back. She is training for the Lucky Charm 10k right now and she is going to kill it!

It was great to talk to Debby and she helped me sort a lot of stuff out! What would I do without this wise sister-in-law!!??
What's harder: walking or running?

Weekend Wrap Up!

Hey all! I hope you had a great weekend!

Well, I'm not sure my trazodone works anymore. The cats woke me up at 2 and I never fell back asleep. This is the second time this week it has happened. I think I have to talk to my doctor because I don't want to go down this road again... yet I feel like I am already halfway down it.

Needless to say, my morning started with some caffeine. Then I used my extra time to do some blogging, download a bunch of podcasts, catch up on some news articles, and just generally eff around on my computer.

If it's a weekday and it's six o'clock, you can find me one of two places... Planet Fitness or running the roads in my hood. Today was a Planet Fitness day. I triple checked to make sure I had a bra, underwear, and socks packed for work. (On Thursday, I somehow forgot to pack those things in my gym bag and had to go without.... eeeeeek!)

Work was a struggle because it was such a busy day and also I got extremely lethargic as the day went on. Luckily, my three first grade classes were the best singers ever! Everyone was participated and they sounded like happy kids. You can't beat that!

After work I chilled for a bit. Then I rallied and hung out with a friend to eat pizza and drink wine. As my friend Maren would say, "I'll sleep when I'm dead!"
My morning started in one of the best ways possible... I met my dad and my brother for a trail run! Tyler and I are running the Hyner View Challenge in April. Tyler doesn't run trail, and since the whole race is on trail, I needed to get him out there!

Then Paul, Bobby, and I headed to the Philly area to celebrate Baby Lila's first birthday! It was fun to take my new wheels on the turnpike for the first time and it was fun to hang out with our friends!

The Amazing Amy Eisen!

That evening, I finally finished the show You! I am going to write a blog post about it. I have so many things to say... good and bad!

Finally, I slept so well! I don't know if it was the trazodone or if it was the fact that I really needed to catch up. Either way, I felt like a million bucks when I woke up!

I went for a 6 miler in my hood, then I picked up my SIL and we headed to the Conewago Trail for a 6 mile hike/walk. Guys, I feel fine after a 6 mile run, but after a 6 mile walk I am BROKEN! Debby felt fine, of course! She is training for a 10k right now!

It was great to connect with my SIL. She helped me sort out some important things!

Bobbbbbbbby!

On Saturday, Paul and I headed to the Philly area to celebrate Baby Lila's 1st Birthday! Lila is Cheetah and Maggie's daughter. (Cheetah's real name is Josh, but Paul has always called him Cheetah, so that's what I call him too.)

It was great to spend the day celebrating Lila and hanging out with friends!

Leading up to the trip, I was sort of dreading the drive even though part of me was excited because we would get to take my new wheels! However, on Wednesday, out of the blue, Paul asked, "Is it okay if Bob rides to Philly with us on Saturday?"

WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!?????

As you may remember, our best friends Bob and Rachel moved to Vermont last year. We miss them A LOT. Apparently, Bob was going to be in town this weekend and wanted to go to the party with us. YAYAYAYAYAYAY!

The only thing that would have made it complete would be if Rachel had been there too.
Do you have any friends with weird nicknames?

Weekly Workouts!

Related Posts Plugin for WordPress, Blogger...

It was a mix of things this week since my achilles randomly ached at the end of my 8 miler on Sunday. Luckily, I think it is fine...

Saturday- 3 trail miles and 3 road miles. I parked at Trindle and was super excited to run trail. It was snowy and icy... It was runnable, but not FUNNABLE. I did three miles and finished up in my neighborhood. What a freaking pain to drive all the way out to the trail and not have any fun!

Sunday- 8 miles with Allison. I hadn't seen her in awhile and it was great to catch up with my friend! She agreed to run at South Middleton Park with me because I didn't want to do the icy trail. My right achilles hurt a little bit during the last mile and a half. No idea why...

Monday- Lifting and a deck of cards workout. My achilles hurt a little... I hope it calms down!

Tuesday- 3 treadmill miles and a circuit. My achilles felt great, but I stopped while I was ahead. My circuit was push ups, row, kettle bell swings, mountain climbers, bicycle crunches, and stability ball pull ins.

Wednesday- 4 miler and a 2 miler later on. My morning run was actually a little more slippy than the one I did in the afternoon. That's because there was enough snow in the afternoon so I could gain traction! I had off work because of the weather. I we got several inches of snow!

8am

1pm

Thursday- 6 treadmill miles. It looked a little icy outside so I headed to the gym. I got pretty sweaty! Unfortunately, I had an epic gym bag failure. I forgot to pack a bra, underwear, and socks for work! I was most upset about the socks. My achilles felt fine!

Friday-   6 treadmill miles. Feeling great! Glad I could end the week strong! The rest of the day was a struggle... I woke up at 2am and could not fall back asleep. Second time this week. Ugh.

How were your workouts this week?

A Weird Morning!

Related Posts Plugin for WordPress, Blogger...
Thursday morning was a weird morning! My alarm was set for 7:30 (two hour delay!) but my neighbor woke me up at 6:58 when he decided to shovel snow right outside my bedroom window. Arrrrgh!

It looked icy outside, so I hit up the treadmill at Planet Fitness. I had a great workout! After my shower, I realized I forgot to pack a bra, underwear, and socks for work! I was most upset about the socks.

As I was getting dressed, my friend Lauren called me. Her car wouldn’t start and she needed a ride to work. I was happy to help out my friend and colleague! Lauren always gives me rides when I am having car trouble. It was fun to ride to work with her. We just laughed and jibber jabbered the whole time. She also recommended I keep extra undergarments in the car in case my little mishap happens again. Noted.

When we got to work, we headed right to my classroom because there was a faculty meeting. Even though we called our principal to let him know we would be late, it’s still weird to walk into a meeting ten minutes late!

Because I didn’t have any breaks between the meeting, my morning duty, and my first two classes of the day, I wasn’t able to eat my breakfast until 11:45!!! I was a hot mess. And I may have mentioned to the students several times how hungry I was because I didn’t eat breakfast… I think I was a little dramatic about it. But the kids know that if I tell them I’m hungry, it’s my polite way of saying, “Don’t mess with me!”

So that was my morning!
Would you rather go to work without a bra, underwear, or socks!?

Happy Thursday!

Related Posts Plugin for WordPress, Blogger... Yesterday was a snow day, but I made the most of it! I ventured out for a 4 miler in the morning. It was snowing, and by the time I was done with my run, the roads were a little slippy.

Then I met a friend for coffee. This is where I got to test out my new car in the snow. There wasn't enough snow to plow, so the roads had snow on them, but not a ton. I made it a mile and a half to the coffee shop with no problems.

After coffee, it was a different story. There was several inches of snow in the parking lot and the plow made a nice big hump I had to drive over. Luckily, my new car easily got over the hump. I'm a big girl!

I debated on whether to go to Aldi or not. The roads were very covered with snow, but I really wanted to spend a good portion of my day making quiche. I opted to go to Aldi. Why did I buy an SUV if I wasn't going to drive it in the snow!?
I almost freaked out when I saw this...

... luckily, there were plenty of cage free eggs. They were triple the price, but I bought them. Ethically, they should be what I'm buying anyway.

When I got home, I went for a 2 mile run in the snow. It was actually less slippy than my morning run as long as I stayed in the snow and not the tire tracks. (By the way, I know slippy isn't a real word, but where I'm from, it sort of is.)

The rest of my day was so productive! I did all the wash and folded it, I cleaned my whole house, and I made three quiche!

Quiche #1: ham, broccoli, onion, cheddar, mushrooms
Quiche #2: black beans, tomato, onion, cumin, ground turkey
Quiche #3: spinach, feta, tomato, mushrooms

NOW, HERE IS THE NIGHTMARE THAT HAPPENED AROUND 2:30PM...

I was arranging some items in my bathroom cabinet and I freaking dropped a bottle of nail polish. It splashed EVERYWHERE... on the floor, on the toilet, on the wall, on my leg.... I have literally worried about this happening ever since I stopped biting my nails and started painting them. I took a shot of run, put on a podcast, and got to work. It took awhile, but my bathroom is spotless. My leg will probably take a little longer...

Do you buy cage free eggs?

Is your car good in the snow?
Do you say slippy or slippery?
Did you ever spill a bottle of nail polish?
