Happy Tuesday!
My Tuesdays are really busy... worse than Mondays, but not as bad as Thursdays.
Here's what we were up to this weekend!
On Thursday I was getting the beginning of a sore throat, so I wasn't surprised when I woke up Friday morning with that hot, salty, burning feeling in the back of my mouth. I had a headache and I was tired. I took the day off work and just relaxed. I did do a light lifting session at home, but nothing major because as soon as my body started getting warm I started to feel worse.
It was bad timing to get sick because we had reservations to spend the night in Harpers Ferry, West Virgnia. It was the first night of their Olde Tyme Christmas celebration, and we planned to go take part in the festivities, have dinner, and do some Christmas shopping. I assured Paul that I was game to go and have a good time even though I didn't feel that hot.
We did have an awesome time, and you can read about it here!
On a whim, Paul and I decided to check out Market of Curiosities at the Carlisle Expo Center. It was basically an art/craft/vintage show but with very strange items! Not your every day tea towels and jewelry. Oh, they had tea towels and jewelry, but it wasn't the average type things you would see at an arts and craft show!
I wish I could show you the awesome Christmas presents we got, but some of the recipients may be reading this blog! So instead I will advertise for some of the artists we bought from!
Here's the one thing I got myself:
Then we ran a bunch of errands. We basically got enough food and alcohol that we could hole up inside our house for two months and never come out. Oh, if only I didn't have to work and we could do that!
That evening, we cooked up a storm. Paul made chili while I made red potatoes and roasted cauliflower.
Then we turned on all the Christmas lights and played games with each other. We had a furry visitor.
I FREAKING LOVE OUR LIFE!!!!
Sunday was very productive! I finally finished decorating my house for Christmas. There is literally nothing else to put up! I will be sharing a VLOG with you this week featuring my Christmas decorations!
I ran 8 miles and I felt GREAT.
Then we went to Paul's parent's house to celebrate Thanksgiving. We jibber jabbered the whole time. The food was delicious and I kissed Swipey!
When I got home, I wrapped a ton of Christmas presents!
Life is good!
Tell me something fun you did this weekend!
Glad that sore throat didn't have you down and out this weekend. I don't want to get sick but i'm itching for another day off (as if just having 5 days off over Thanksgiving break wasn't enough..lol).
ReplyDeleteMaybe a mental health day?? :) When do you get off for Christmas? Our first day off is the 24th. :(
DeleteWOW you stayed busy even while feeling under the weather! You're like the energizer bunny!
ReplyDeleteThe most fun thing I did this weekend was stare at my new giant fridge. It might not sound like a lot of fun, but having this fridge is something Adam and I have talked about wanted since we moved in together NINE years ago! We literally talk about getting a bigger fridge every time we go grocery shopping, and now we have it! And you can customize like every single part of it. You can tell it exactly how cold you want each section to be, and you can tell it how many ounces of water to dispense through the water thing. OMG <3.
I am so happy you and Adam finally got your DREAM FRIDGE!!! Ours can get pretty stuffed but we always have room. What we wish we had was an extra deep freezer so we could buy meat in bulk.
DeleteOMG you're wrapping! I bought like 2 things so far. You have the prettiest, funniest cats ever. I love seeing them on IG!
ReplyDeleteI'm not good at taking artsy running photos but my cats are beautiful as is so they always turn out okay!!!
DeleteAwe, I love you so much. I love how positive and thankful you are! It's contagious! I just spilled hot coffee all over my lap and I cut my shin open on the corner of a piece of furniture that I was helping someone move and it's bleeding. I needed to read your post to help me turn my frown upside down.
ReplyDeleteOmg ouch!!!! Okay keep reading and I will try to cheer you up. :)
DeleteDo you switch Thanksgivings? As in one year you go to your family and the next to Paul's?
ReplyDeleteI love that you have enough alcohol to last you 2 months! you are ready for the snow! I could need to venture out for wine!
I am trying to gather boxes to start wrapping, and will also need to find time to wrap stuff.
Well my family eats early (noon) so normally we will do my family for lunch and his family for dinner. Last year we only went to his family's place because he was on radiation and chemo at the time and just wanted to keep it low key. This year his parents were away on Thanksgiving so we had the real T-day with my family and fake T-day with his!
DeleteI love wrapping! Do you like it? If you don't, I will wrap your presents for you. I am serious, I love to wrap.
I love wrapping gifts!! It's probably my favorite thing to do for the holidays. Last year I wrapped all of my sister's presents hours before we opened them for Christmas.
DeleteHooray for a great weekend and lots of holiday festivities. Being sick sucks but it seems like I always get a bit congested or my throat gets scratchy with the weather changes in the winter, yuck. This weekend's fun was going out to lunch with Clay on Sunday and doing some online Christmas shopping.
ReplyDeleteOoh, online shopping is so fun. I love getting packages. I'm glad you had a nice lunch with Clay. Do you ever call him Clay Bae?? I feel like I would do that if my husband's name was Clay. :)
