Happy Monday!
I hope you had a great weekend.
Here's what we were up to...
This was my first night of good sleep all week! Hallelujah! Thus, my run was quite enjoyable.
Thursday was kind of a crappy day at work, but I decided I needed to change my attitude so I would have a GOOD DAY. It worked.
Paul sent me this text...
He's all mine, ladies!
We had a pep rally to cheer on the 3rd and 4th graders for their PSSA tests next week.
The high school marching band and cheerleaders came to pump the kids up!
It was freaking awesome!
After work, I started this bad boy.
Then I took my niece to see Willy Wonka Jr., which is a musical performed by the East Pennsboro Middle School. It was so fun to see my former students on the stage! It was Ellie's first time seeing a musical and she loved it. I think her favorite part was when a song was over and she could clap and cheer!
I was so excited to come home and have dinner. I hadn't eaten since noon! Frozen pizza it was.
Come on, I've been eating chicken, quinoa, salads, and sweet taters all week!
I got an epic 12 hours of sleep! Sure it sounds fun, but I know I won't be able to fall asleep at a decent time tonight... and I have a race tomorrow!
The first thing I did was drink coffee and work on my puzzle. It's coming along.
Then I got in a quick lifting session.
Then Paul and I headed out to see the movie Chappaquiddick but it was sold out! Apparently, it was senior citizen discount day. Ironically, we didn't want to go back later to see it because we like to be home early... probably much like the senior citizens!
This is my, "I geled my hair for nothing" face.
It all turned out okay. I went home and did a lot of blogging, got ready for my race the next day, and finished my puzzle. We will go see Chappaquiddick another time when it won't be as busy.
On Saturday night, I had the shittiest sleep ever. I only slept for four hours- and not all at once. The whole night I was up with night sweats and gas. I was wide awake. I got my period and then my back started hurting. It was absolutely terrible...
... but I had a race in the morning (The Buck Ridge Burn trail half marathon) and I figured I may as well go to it. But I didn't feel good at all. Sometimes on the first day of my period I feel sick. I'm a little nauseous and I have that apprehensive feeling you sometimes get when you are coming down with something. This was definitely going to be a tough race for me.
The course was very difficult- lots of elevation, rocks, roots, mud, stream crossings. I'll do a full race recap tomorrow. I did well but had a pounding headache as I walked to the car. I wanted to stick around and cheer on other runners and see the awards ceremony, but I was so cold and my head hurt. It was time to go home.
Of course I didn't do anything productive for the rest of the day. Blogging, puzzles, and food. This was dinner:
We watched the movie Superbad from 2007. I remember seeing it in the theater with Paul before we were married. It was actually still funny. It's crazy to see how the clothing styles were so different in 2007...
Tell me something fun you did this weekend!
Did anyone see a good movie?
Did you race?
Did anyone see a good movie?
Did you race?
Sorry you didn't feel good for your race. I was kind of in a funk all weekend. I had a good run in Friday but that's about all! Have a good week.
ReplyDeleteI hope you're out of your funk! It sucks being in a funk over the weekend because that is when we are freeeeee!
DeleteWe get our periods around the same time, and I also have been getting hot flashes leading into my period. I keep wondering if this is another sign of getting old. I don't remember ever getting hot flashes in my teens or 20s! I'm sorry that you didn't feel your best during the race though.
ReplyDeleteThis weekend I had fun watching Wrestlemania with Adam. My favorite wrestler (Finn Balor) didn't win his match, but he still made an impact. He came out with a group of LGBTQ fans and had rainbow gear on. He's a good guy and is always supporting the LGBTQ community, talking about the importance of helping the homeless etc. In a sport where there is a lot of macho-ism I like that he uses his platform to talk about important stuff.
I never had any of these period troubles in my teens and 20s either. It started like 3 years ago. I told my gyno. It doesn't happen every month but it is still annoying when it happens.
DeleteThat is awesome that Finn uses his platform to talk about important things!
It's very cool that the cheerleaders were there to cheer the kids for PSSAs! My son is doing his this week too.. I guess it's PSSAs season!
ReplyDeleteDid you go anywhere else, since the movie was sold out?
I love that you are eating a burger and a half!
We watched Bruce Almighty... it was ok. I remember it being funnier. I used to love Jim Carey.
It sure is. We're just trying to pump the kids up to do their best and not be stressed! After our try at the movie, we went to Weis, and then home. :( The burger + half was sooooo good. I used to like Jim Carey a lot too but now most of those old movies just aren't funny anymore. Except Dumb and Dumber!
DeleteWhat? I always get excited about pizza, no matter what the form. It's all good! I did see Downsizing on my flight home this weekend. Have you seen that yet? I liked it.
ReplyDeleteWe almost watched that instead of Superbad. It looked interesting! Thanks for the rec.
DeleteI bought the documentary on the Boston Marathon and it arrived Saturday afternoon. I couldn't even wait until after dinner. I opened it right away to watch it. I watched the extras during dinner.
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome! I bet it was so good.
