I had some awesome runs this week! I am finally feeling consistently good on my runs, and I am consistently EXCITED to run. That's so important!
Saturday- Lifting back @ home. I didn't feel like going to the gym, plus I had some CNN to catch up on!
Chrissy hijacked my towel... and my other towel!

Hip/glute exercises
Stretching
Sunday- Rest. I was sore from lifting and my right butt cheek randomly felt like I did 100 squats the day before. Plus, I was feeling lazy. I went shopping all day so at least that got my body moving.
Monday- 6 miler in my hood. I just did it slow and steady.
Thursday- 8 miles! This was my longest run since July! Despite only getting 4 hours sleep, my legs felt fresh and I am honestly telling you each one of these miles felt effortless!
Splits: 8:06, 8:09, 8:08, 8:03, 8:00, 7:42, 7:45, 7:34
Friday- Chest @ home. I wanted to run but I was due to lift. Plus, I want to run a lot this weekend, so I figured it would be good to take a little break today.
I recorded myself doing my push ups because I wanted to check my form. I was doing something weird with my upper half so I recorded a couple of times until I fixed it.
Here's how I do my push ups- with "The Perfect Push Up". My last rep is a little wonky! I was pretty tired!
Doing 100 push ups WRECKS me and I can barely do my shoulder presses afterwards.
Chest Press- 5x12x25lb
Push Ups- 100 in sets of 10 or 15
Shoulder Press- 5x10x20lb
Bicycle crunches- 5x40
Stability ball knee tuck- 5x15
Including my warm up, this workout took me 70 minutes! I need rest breaks.
How were your workouts this week?
So glad that running has been going so well for you! I should really figure out a way to put some ore structure into my strength training routines. I just kind of do whatever I feel like and don't keep track of my weights or reps!
ReplyDeleteYeah, you should write it out! It's fun to see progress, too.
DeleteDon't you love when a run (or any workout, really) feels effortless?! It's kind of the best and you feel amazing. Great job!
ReplyDeleteIt is awesome! I haven't had that feeling in a long time.
DeleteI've decided I want to lift like you when I grow up! We did a light leg and back weight session last night and I was so tired, I didn't feel like running after.
ReplyDeleteI don't normally run and lift on the same day. I like to focus on one or the other because like you, I am too tired to run after I lift! I think that just means you lifted correctly. :)
DeleteYour pictures crack me up - my cats are continually in the way when I work out in my house :)
ReplyDeleteMy cats just love towels, so whenever there is a towel on the floor they are RIGHTTHERE.
