Hey! What's doing on with you?
Here's what's going on with me...
Current Book: As Time Goes By, Mary Higgins Clark. I gotta say, her new books just aren't as good as her old ones. It doesn't even seem like her writing style. Everything seems rushed. Oh well, it's still a quick and easy read to help me fall asleep at night.
Current Podcast: A couple months ago, we started listening to This American Life. Some episodes are better than others, but I always at least try out the new episode. I am a couple weeks behind, though!
Current Guilty Pleasure: Effing around on my phone.
Total Number of times I blew my nose yesterday: 10,000.
Current Need: To feel 100% again. I hate being sick.
Current Triumph: Getting a bunch of lesson plans done yesterday.
Current Wish List: A cleaning woman.
Current Bane of My Existence: Kindergarten. And First Grade. There, I said it.
Current Most Annoying Celebrity: Hmmmm... Dare I say the T word????
Current Indulgence: Our third row Cirque Du Soleil tickets!
Current TV Show: BIG BROTHER. I freaking love it.
Current Food: Paul has been BBQ'ing my chicken. Lunch actually tastes good these days!
Current Drink: Sangria.
Current Thing I Am Thankful For: Family!
Current Excitement: I get paid on Friday!!!! I take a lump sum at the beginning of the summer so I haven't gotten paid in about 3 months. Can't wait to see those dollah dollah bills, ya'all!
I actually own this!
Tell me something "current" about you!
Splurge on the house cleaning. It's worth it. I got mine deep cleaned a few months ago and that was $150 well spent.
ReplyDeleteThat's pretty cheap for a deep clean!
DeleteI was more referring to someone who would come in once a week and clean!
Most of them will do that too- we just don't have the money for that and I don't mind doing little chores around the house. I just don't want to mop floors and things like that!
DeleteHaving someone come and clean our house is so worth it! I hope you start to feel better, soon! Being sick really does stink. Current food is garden Roma tomatoes--they are so good and we have tons! Current guilty pleasure would be that we just booked 2 beach vacations that are only 3 weeks apart. Puerto Vallarta in February and Playa del Carmen in March. Well, YOLO, right?!?
ReplyDeleteOur tomatoes shit the bed this year! I am glad you got so many. Tomatoes from the garden really taste better. WOW you guys are going to be living it up this winter! What is the occasion, besides YOLO??? :)
DeleteSee, this is why we need to be neighbors because I could just walk right over and give you some! A girl can dream, right?! We always go someplace warm for my birthday in February. Some friends booked a March spring break trip and invited us along so we thought "why the hell not?!?" The three weeks in between will be good detox time (we maybe drink a bit more than we ever do when we go to all inclusive resorts--I mean, they make it SO easy)
DeleteI know! Among the many reasons we should be neighbors. :)
DeleteI would love to go to an all inclusive sometime! If we ever do, I will have to hit you up for advice on where to go.
I am the type of person who would probably clean my house for the cleaners to come! I actually don't mind cleaning--it gets out some of my nervous energy. Now, a personal chef...
ReplyDeleteI have been in a reading rut lately...I can't find anything to really interest me...
I hope you feel better
Awww haha that is funny! I would have to not be there if someone cleaned my house. Sometimes I don't mind cleaning if I have a good podcast, or it's a rest day. It's a good excuse to get my body moving and the blood flowing.
DeleteI didn't know you could get your summer pay as one lump sum!
ReplyDeleteCurrently, I am just tired!
Awww did school start? Go to sleep early tonight with your Baylee girl! :) Yes we can get it as a lump sum, which I kind of like because it's more money than I EVER see in my bank account at one time! Of course it is mostly gone by September but it is still fun in the moment.
DeleteCurrently I am thankful for having Adam! Two of my friends are single and their dating stories make me so so so grateful to no longer be in the dating world!
ReplyDeleteCurrently I am excited about furniture shopping! Furniture is sadly very expensive, but it's also a lot of fun to shop for!
I can't wait to see how you decorate your new place!!!
DeleteIt's going to be a VERY slow decorating process because apparently all the furniture I want is incredibly expensive so we have to buy like one thing per month LOL! But seriously, this coffee table speaks to me: https://www.jossandmain.com/Dior-Coffee-Table-DU2-XIU113SPTF-SBYJ1368.html <3
DeleteThat coffee table is SO YOU.
DeleteOh, that would be tough, not getting paid regularly!
ReplyDeleteI love kids, you know I work with them all day long. But my encounters are brief. I always say I couldn't be a teacher--what if I was stuck with an annoying kid ALL YEAR LONG?
Well I could keep getting paid regularly or take the lump. I usually take the lump.
DeleteLuckily, as the music teacher, I don't get stuck with "that kid" allllll day or allllll year. I get to see all of them, but for 40 minutes at a time. 40 minutes is too long of a class period for K and 1st grade, but what do I know?
I was afraid to say this out loud, but currently my heel & arch hurts and I'm thinking I might not get to the start line on Sunday :( :( It appeared on Saturday night and it really didn't like my easy 5 miles yesterday. Wearing running shoes to work today and will see the Dr at 3:45 to assess. I'm thinking either PF (good, could be run on I think) or stress fracture (bad, missing key races). Ugh.
ReplyDeleteGood deal on the payday happening again for you!!!! ps, I had a good chuckle with my play of "word dorks" ;)
Nooooo. :( Stretch it! Rest it! Let me know how it goes. Sorry, PF is a pain in the arse.
DeleteLOL I did not notice word dorks, I will have to be on the lookout for your play on words. :)
"A cleaning woman." LOLOL ;)
ReplyDeleteI knew it was sexist the minute I typed it but I left it anyway!
DeleteI only read one Mary Higgings book, and it was a long time ago. Is there any that you would recommend?
ReplyDeleteMy sister and I used to joke about sharing a cleaning lady, but we were to lazy to look it up.
Roger made sangria the other day! it was yummy!
Let's see...
I'm currently hungry! and currently reading The Name Sake and The Stranger.
Oh her old ones are great. If you like her writing style, I recommend Loves Music, Loves to Dance, All Around the Town, and Remember Me!
DeleteI still have not made sangria, only bought!
yay for payday! And I'm all about that cat saying. My girl deserves to be spoiled, especially after her first owners dumped her.
ReplyDeleteAwww I am glad she has you then.
DeleteWe have a house cleaner come in every other week and it is definitely worth the money. Otherwise, my house would go to shit because I just don't have the energy or time to clean when chasing around a 1 year old.
ReplyDeleteHow are you liking the phone so far?
Wow, I am sure your house cleaner is soooo worth it.
DeleteI love my phone. Not gonna lie. And I am a little addicted. I want to make it so it doesn't "ding" every time something happens. Right now it dings if: I get an email, I get a text, someone posts on bloglovin, I get a fb notification, someone makes a move on WWF or Scrabble, or if someone snap chats me. It basically dings all day, and I feel COMPELLED to check it right away. I need to disable that.
I think MHC and some of my other favorite prolific writers are using ghost writers now. I read a David Baldacci book recently that was totally not his writing style at ALL. Once they have like 75 books to their names and they're writing 10 books a year, I just assume they're hiring out the work.
ReplyDeleteI am trying to hold out hope that that's not the case buuuuut .. you are probably right. :(
