Weekend Wrap Up

Good Monday morning, Blog-land! Before we go on with the regularly scheduled Weekend Wrap Up, I want to let you know that Meg Go Run is on Facebook! You can follow me there. I'm not sure what that actually means, but I will figure it out soon enough. But as for now, please go "like" my page

Onto the Wrap Up... Can I just tell you how excited I am for this week to be over? I know we're supposed to enjoy the moment, but teaching at an elementary school the week before Christmas is... challenging. I have a lot coming up this week (as I am sure most people do!), but once Friday rolls around I am freeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee for 12 days! Now, to put one foot in front of the other and take one challenge at a time.

This past weekend was a much needed chance to get some rest and relaxation, as well as finish up everything I need to finish before Christmas. Here's what I was up to...

Friday was a magical day at work. I took the 4th grade students to see Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet's performance of  George Balanchine's The Nutcracker. I will be writing more about it this week, but for now I will tell you that it is was one of the most beautiful performances I have ever had the pleasure of seeing! We go each year, and I swear it gets better every time.

After work, I had my last physical therapy appointment! No, I didn't graduate. I quit!

When I got home, Paul and I went to the grocery store to get some things. Bad idea. I swear, EVERY. SINGLE. PERSON. IN. THE. WORLD. WAS. AT. GIANT. It was the worst experience of my life! Did I ever tell you I hate People? Because I do. I hate people.

Saturday was a wonderful snowy day. I wrote about it yesterday, so I won't bore you with the details again! You can read about how we spent our "snow day" here.

On Sunday I managed to find some roads that were plowed and not icy. I ran 7 miles and it felt great. It wasn't even that cold out. All my cold weather gear was in the wash, so my clothing choices were limited...

On top I look normal...

...but the base layer was the leggings I wore for Footloose!

My grey pants were dragging through the snow so I had to tuck them into my socks.
So fashionable!

After my run, I did all my PT stretches and exercises (see, I told you I would do them at home!). Then I went to meet my friend Jen for a yummy lunch at Panera Bread. I had black bean soup, a baguette, and half a smoked turkey sandwich. I know that's a lot of carbs, but I just ran for almost an hour and I had to refuel!

Then we headed to the Harrisburg Jewish Community Center to see the musical The Wedding Singer. Our friend Randy directed it. It was such a fun show! It was the third time I saw it (I helped out last week during their tech week) and I kept laughing at new things I never noticed the first two times.

When I got home, I launched an epic Christmas Present Wrapping Wine Drinking extravaganza! Just me, a glass of wine, and lots of presents! I love wrapping...

We finished the evening watching the Survivor Finale. I am typing this blog post before we actually watch it though. I am hoping Tyson does not win, but I have a feeling he will...

I hope you had a great weekend!
Are you done wrapping all your Christmas presents?
Have you ever seen The Wedding Singer performed on stage?
What's your favorite thing to get at Panera?

  1. Haha love the pants tucked in to the socks! I've never seen the Nutcracker, which makes me a terrible ex-ballerina!

    1. It was only for the last 2 miles so hopefully not too many people saw me!

  3. I imagine the kids are probably pretty antsy before Christmas break huh? I'm jealous of your time off. As a freelancer I have no, zero, zilch. I'm happy to have the work right now but it's been crazy busy. I feel ya on the grocery store too. I hate going period, but especially when it's busy. I also love the nutcracker at Christmastime. I didn't get a chance to see it this year. :(
