Well, it was a HOT week here in PA. The real feel was well above 100. It even reached 107-108 a couple days. I would run in the morning, when the temp was more in the 98-100 range. I mean, I'm not SUPER crazy or anything!
Saturday- 6 hot morning miles. My run felt great. I wasn't creaky at all. It was quite hot but not dangerously so. The dangerous heat came later on in the day.
Sunday- 2 deck of cards workouts and lifting at Planet Fitness.
Monday- 6 scorching miles. A dude pointed at me and said, "Insanity!" Haha!
Tuesday- 6 more miles. I went around 8:30 so even though it was humid, it wasn't dangerously hot. That was later, when the real feel was 107!
Wednesday- 6 morning miles. I went early again so it wasn't so bad. I've really been enjoying my runs this week despite the heat!
Thursday- Lifting @ Planet Fitness and a deck of cards workout. The gym put a freaking TRASH CAN where I used to do my bicycle crunches.
Friday- 6 rainy miles. When I went out, it was rainy and overcast. It looked COLD. Of course it wasn't cold, it was very warm and humid. But a mere 80 degrees, which is like 28 degrees cooler than some of the highs this week!

I'm honestly so impressed with how fast you adapt to summer running. Down here we go from 80 degrees in the winter to 100 degrees in the summer which is only a 20 degree swing. If I had to deal with 20 degrees some months and 100 degrees other months I think my body would go crazy!
ReplyDeleteDid you move the trash can so you could do your crunches there?
LOL I didn't move the trash can!
DeleteThat is a good point. I don't think everyone adapts as fast but I do think I do. PA weather is weird and it definitely fluctuates A LOT. I love it though.
It has been so blazing hot, that today felt cold! Where are you going to do your bicycle crunches now?
ReplyDeleteI did my dumb bicycle crunches in another corner.
DeleteI have not been getting up early to run this summer but I'm hoping to change that for July!
ReplyDeleteI hope it works! What is early for you?
