Hey all!
Today I want to share with you some of my mom's talents and hard work. Twenty years ago, she started a business called Hats By Peach. While she mainly makes hats, she also makes some really beautiful scarves as well.
My mom sells her hats and scarves at local art and craft shows, in art and craft galleries/stores, and of course at her Etsy Shop. And of course you can always Like her on Facebook!
Here are some before and after shots showing the materials she uses and what she creates...

Isn't she amazing?
She also started doing a new style of hat called Steampunk. I never heard of that style but look at her funky creations!

Now I'd like to show you where my mom does some of her work. My mom's workroom is in my old bedroom! She really makes good use of her space.
Mom, putting a flower on a new creation.
Or doll parts!
Lots of buttons, pins, and doodads.
I used to put my Baby-Sitters Club books on those shelves!
Mom buys hats at flea markets and uses the flowers on the hats she creates.
Some of her hats.
How cool is this?
She has also been using feathers more and more. Check out this cool hat!
And an example of the flowers she uses...
If you like any of these creations, check out her Etsy shop where you can get something that is literally ONE OF A KIND!
Your mom is so talented! Love those hats!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteThese are gorgeous! She should be a costume designer for Broadway shows!
ReplyDeleteWhen I was in musicals growing up, sometimes she would help with costumes.
DeleteWow, so detailed! That's so fun that she can make those beautiful creations. How long does it take to crochet a hat? (that is crochet, yes?) I tried knitting once. It frustrated me!!!
ReplyDeleteYes, the hats are crocheted and I think she knits the scarves. I am not sure how long it takes her to make one, but she has been doing it for so long that she is VERY efficient! When people see how fast she can knit and crochet, they can't believe it.
DeleteYour mom is amazing! My mom makes dog clothes and sells them on Etsy. Three cheers for talented and creative moms!
ReplyDeleteDogs in clothes are so cute. :) And they are so much more agreeable to wearing clothes than cats are!
DeleteThese look amazing! My mom did crochet and knit, and now she's moved on to quilting, and loving it. I actually might ask her about making me a quilt out of my race shirts, when I think I have enough.
ReplyDeleteThat is a great idea! I wanted to get a quilt made of my musical shirts but then I just ended up throwing a lot of them away. :(
DeleteShe sure is!
ReplyDeleteSo cool! The steampunk hats are awesome, I love them!
