I'm running the Table Rock 30k in Marin County, CA on July 22nd!
Let's start with my goals:
1. Have fun.
2. Feel good. (Or as good as I can.)
3. Finish uninjured.
Here is my plan to accomplish all of that...
1. Walk up ALL OF THE HILLS.
2. Take my time.
3. Take a lot of pictures!
4. Mentally, stay in the moment and just take each mile at a time.
That's pretty much all I've got! Here is Flat Megan. She is ready for some trail running!
Like my broken Garmin? Going strong for nearly a year now.
I freaking hold it while I run!
Any tips or words of wisdom for me?
Garmin will send you a new strap for free. All you have to do is call them!
ReplyDeleteWhaaaaaa!?
DeleteBahahaha. This. ;)
DeleteHave FUN--that is all :) You got this, girl.
ReplyDeleteThank ya!!!!
DeleteHave an awesome race!! I love your goal to have fun! YOu are going to crush it!!
ReplyDeleteHaha depends on your definition of crush.
DeleteGood luck with your race! I agree with the goal of having fun with it and finishing uninjured. In the end all the races should be fun, it's not like we have too much chance of winning them and even if we do, it is just a race and not our income or anything. I hope you have a GREAT time and can't wait to see the pics.
ReplyDeleteThank you Amy! There is an award for last place which I am a contender for!
DeleteI like your number one goal of just have fun!
ReplyDeleteAt the end of the day you are Megan and you will have the right race for Megan! Just run by instinct/whatever feels right and you will have a great race!
Thank you. This is why you are my life coach.
DeleteOh, you already know exactly what to do! Run the mile you're in. Don't think about the next mile until you're in it. Don't forget to look up! Look around you! HAVE FUN! Woohooo!
ReplyDeleteThanks Suzzzyyyyyy!!!!!
DeleteHa! I was wondering what you were doing with your watch. So silly, buy a new band girl!! Hope you have a great race and enjoy it all!
ReplyDeleteI can't find any!
DeleteGood luck, and have a wonderful time!!
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteGood luck! Whenever I saw I'm walking up hills, my competitive side wants to run up them during the race. My thoughtful, common sense side gets ignored.
ReplyDeleteI think I will have to walk. These hills are mountains!
DeleteOh, I didn't know about this race... how awesome. I am running the SF half marathon this weekend. I'd say you're pretty prepared... just have fun on Saturday! :)
ReplyDeleteAwesome, have fun! I'll look up the course route. We will be in San Fran Sunday all day!
DeleteHave fun, Meg! And you've got a good plan to walk the hills. I've done that before... :p
ReplyDeleteMe too! Most trail runs go that way.
