Summer Goals: How did I do?

My summer officially came to an end last week, so it's time to see how I did on my summer goals!

Back in June, I posted a couple goals I had for the summer. Here are my goals and how I graded myself on achieving them!

1. Cross as many things off my summer "to do list" as possible! C

I only did 9 things on our list of 17 things. How shameful! Even though we didn't hit all the things on our list, we did do things that aren't on our list.

2. Spring clean every room in the house. A+

This was completed in June!

3. Run trail races for fun. D

The only reason I didn't give myself an F is because I did run my trail race in California!

4. Spruce up the outside of our home. A+

We did it! I painted doors, replaced shutters, bought a screen door, fixed up my garden... Heck, we even got a new roof!

5. Solve the JonBenet Case. F

BUT I got into the rabbit hole that is Reddit and found some other murders/disappearances that struck my fancy! Need to kill some time? Go to Reddit and type in "Kyron Horman" or "Missy Bevers"!!!! And I also started listening to Serial again!!!
How did you do on your summer goals?

  1. This is the second of two list you had... I only remember that because the other list included go to happy hour and we did that! and you also had to go to local carnivals and go to Philly or DC.

I still have not taken my son to Knoebels, but I say we have at least 2 more weeks. He started school, but we still have summer days and the weekends. We had a busy summer, and did most of what we had planned.

    1. We did go to happy hour and I did do the carnivals and other stuff on the list, but I did not go to DC or Philly! Yes you still have time for Knoebels plus they are open on the weekends in the fall for the Halloween Fun weekends! You could go then?

  2. Why a "D" on the trail race? You DID do it and you DID have fun, right?

I'll have to really sit and think about what it was I wanted to accomplish. I don't think I made a list. The big thing was to get my den painted and that happened even though it's not the color I originally wanted.

    1. Well the D is because I wanted to run a bunch of trail races and I only did one. But if I rated just that race, I'd give it an A++++++!

  3. You did an awesome job on the front of your house!! I am surprised at your "D" rating on the trail race! I'm sure there were more to run, but you did do one! We still have a few places we'd like to go before Fall is totally here (another coaster park because we have season passes for it!), camping destinations. I really need to start a "kids are in school" list now that I have my Friday's mostly to myself again. There is so much housework that got neglected this summer, and other tasks to be done by me. I feel like I need to be interacting with my kids all of the time when they are home and I really need to take time to get other things done. The time has come!

    1. Well I wanted to run a bunch of trail races but I ended up not making an effort! So I got a D instead of an F because at least I did one. :) You are such a good mom to spend so much time with your kids doing cool stuff in the summer!

  4. I didn't make any goals for myself! Shoot! I should have! I'm quite the impulsive person though like I do get a lot of stuff done but it's usually right when I decide to do it. I converted our walk-in closet to a nursery, all by myself! I removed the shelving, organized our clothes into the linen closet and into other areas of the house, put together the crib, salvaged some old shelving from storage, yeah! It felt good. It always feels good to do stuff like that. The outside of your house looks really, REALLY nice. You guys did a great job.

    1. Oh don't worry I know you get a lot done! Did you ever post pics of your nursery? I don't think so! Let's see it!

  5. I've been working on my cadence this summer, but that's about it. Training starts Monday, so I'll see how successful this round is.

    1. I've never worked on my cadence. How do you do that?

  6. Why'd you give yourself a D on the trail race? After all you went through with the injury struggles, it's awesome that you got to run the race and you had fun. I mean, your only goal for it was fun, right? I think you did a great job with your goals, I mean some of them were pretty lofty like the Jonbenet one lol, but otherwise you can't beat cleaning your house and landscaping!

    1. I didn't give myself a D on the trail race, I gave myself a D for running "trail races for fun". I wanted to run a lot of trail races for fun this summer but I didn't feel like getting up early. I gave myself a D instead of an F because I did at least run one.
