Weekly Workouts

I ran 33 miles this week. My ITB hurt a little but it's just par for the course. It will hurt for a week and then I won't hear a peep from it for a month or so... No rhyme or reason, that's just my life!

Saturday- 9 (ish) miles at Swatara State Park. My Garmin would not find satellites for this run! I ran the single track bike loops. I described my route to my dad (he bikes there) and he said I probably did about 9 miles. I ran 1.5 hours, so that sounds about right! My hammy did not hurt at all during this run. If it had started to hurt, I probably only would have run for an hour.

Sunday- Lifting back @ home. I was going to go to the gym but then I felt homesick so stayed at home to lift.

Monday- 6 neighborhood miles. Shorts! Woot!

Tuesday- 6 more miles. I ran loops around my house. Paul wasn't home and I was convinced my house was going to catch on fire while I was gone. Oh, this run was done on two hours of sleep. I run fast when I don't get much sleep!

This is fast for me right now.

Wednesday- 6 miles. Again, I just looped around my house. It wasn't a very fun run because my mp3 player died right in the middle of my JonBenet podcast! Then I had tap class at night.

Thursday- Lifting chest @ home. I did something strange where I did all 12 exercises in a row, rested, and then did them again. I did that 5 times. I just needed something different, you know?

Friday- 6 miles in my hood... WITHOUT PODCASTS because my mp3 player was still dead. I need to figure something out, because without my podcast, all I thought about was work. Runs are supposed to be my time, not think about work time.
How were your workouts this week?
Do you think about work on your runs?
Have you ever run loops around your house because you were afraid of something?

  1. Sometimes I think about work when I run, but mostly I think about work when I can't sleep. Luckily that's not too often because Im like there is nothing I can do about it in the middle of the night! I like to stay close to my house when its really early and dark out.

    1. Normally, I am never further than 1-2 miles from my house in the dark. 2 miles is pushing it. But while Paul was gone, I was never more than a 1/2 mile from my house and I passed by it every 5 minutes. I am psycho.

  2. I have NO idea what I think about when I run but I do know that I sometimes listen to podcasts 2 x because my mind wanders around so much. That trail run looks so wonderful! As you know, my workouts this week were "different". Ran Sat, Sun but by Sun evening my foot wasn't happy (again) so I biked a few days then did a few walks followed up with swimming. Giving myself time off my feet and going back to the doctor tomorrow. So, please run some miles for me this week OK?!?

  3. Nope, I just run loops around the house because either I'm injured and scared to run any further from home or to hit a number of miles (lol). That's why I run the cul-de-sac sometimes too.

Glad you had some good runs this week and lifted too! Hope the ITBS stays away!

    1. Thanks girl! Today it felt great which is weird because yesterday it felt bad. My left leg is bipolar.

  4. Hey did you ever get your Garmin fixed?
Nice job getting miles in even if you had to stay close to home.

  5. Oh, I always think about work when I run! Sometimes I plan great lessons... and sometimes I have imaginary conversations with kids/parents/admin that always go so much better in my head than in real life.
