Weekly Workouts!

This week was weird. I had some adductor pain so I didn't run a lot. It sucked. I like to do what I want to do when I want to do it. You know, I'm just a simple girl... lol.

Oh well, here's what I did accomplish!

Saturday- 3 miles. I had to stop because my adductor hurt! So I came inside, a little defeated, and did a light upper body workout.

Sunday- Chest @ home. I lifted as heavy as I could.

Monday- Back @ home. Again, I lifted as heavy as I could.

Tuesday- "Light" upper body lifting @ home. I didn't want to lift heavy 3 days in a row.

Wednesday- Lifting chest (heavy) @ home. So sick of lifting. I have some pent up anger (FUCK YOU, TRUMP!) and I need to get out via a RUN!

Thursday- 3 miles!!! I started to feel an "awareness' so I stopped. No pain. Woot! I did some light lifting and abs after.

Friday- 3 miles. That "awareness" came at like mile 1.5! WTF? I did 3 miles though and it didn't get worse. I'm mad. I want to just feel absolutely perfect. Is that too much to ask? Yes. :)
How were your workouts this week?
OMG I only ran 9 miles this week! I lifted hundreds of lbs thought...

  1. I hope you feel better soon and your adductor pain goes away! It stinks to only log 9 miles and to have to take so many days off straight but want to work out so you're limited (due to only having so many areas of the body to strength train). Gotta say you did have some solid lifting days!

    1. I am thankful to have lifting but I know you know what it feels like to want to RUN!

  2. Ugh..what the heck?!? What is going on with your leg? I have a question: you have back lifting, chest lifting so what is upper body lifting? So, if it makes you feel ANY better (which it won't) I only ran 10 miles! I walked 4 miles, swam 2.75 miles and (indoor) cycled for 6 miles. We had a lovely ice storm that kept me from running for a 4th day this week (I just could not bring myself to run inside so that is why I rode my spin bike). My point is, even though you didn't run the miles you wanted, look at all the lifting you did. You always say to me how much you admire my well rounded workouts and even though I know running is your #1 you had a really well rounded week last week! Not too shabby, sister!!

    1. Thank you Susan, your comment made me feel a lot better.

Okay, good, question. When I lift chest, I do:
push ups, chest press, shoulder press, tricep dips, and then lower body and core work.

When I lift back I do: pull ups (wide grip and neutral grip), row, and bicep curls... then the same lower body/core stuff.

When I do upper body I mix up those exercises. I don't do ALL of them (that would take too long), but like 2 chest, 2 back, 1 shoulder, and then bicep/tricep if I have time. Core/lower body too.

    2. That explains it! Upper body is a fusion of chest/back! You gotta feel a good pump, right? How was the run today?

  3. I hope your pain goes away soon. What kind of weights do you lift? Are they free weights where you adjust those disc things at the end of the bar?

    1. I lift free weights I got at Dick's. They don't have the discs. I have 8s, 10s, 15s, 20s, 25s, and 30s. I also have a pull up bar which is very helpful!

  4. My week has been mostly, kinda OK... but my now "chronic" glute/hamstring pain appears to be coming back, so that's a bit of a bummer! I just want to be all better too. It's not too much to ask I think :)

    1. Girl, my ITB is my "chronic" problem like your glute/hammy stuff. You are not alone! I just learn to live with it popping up... ugh. Maybe someday it will stop bothering us!

  5. I TOTALLY understand your frustration. It's so irritating when we just want to run, and run hard to burn out our anger (because Trump), and our bodies won't cooperate. I hope this turns out to be nothing and you're back to it right away!
