Weekend Wrap Up!

Hey hey hey!
Here is my Weekend Wrap Up, just a day late!
Maybe you are reading this before you vote.
Maybe you are reading this while you are waiting in line to vote.
Maybe you already voted!
JUST DON'T FORGET TO VOTE!

That's all. Now for the Wrap Up!

My Friday started with a 6 miler in my hood. Then I went to work. I'm not going to lie. Work was a little boring... I had a lot on my mind and my heart just wasn't in it. But I made it through a day full of challenging classes.

That evening, I took my good friend Bree out to dinner so we could reconnect. We ate at the Garlic Poet in New Cumberland. We had burgers and they were DELICIOUS! Then we went back to Bree's place and the two of us an her husband chatted a bit.

This is their "fall centerpiece." So funny!

I haven't been craving dessert lately, but on the way home, I passed McDonald's and was suddenly craved my favorite combo!

I was up really late on Friday night, so I slept until 10:10 on Saturday morning. I was feeling really sleepy and basically felt sleepy the whole day.

We got our hearts pumping with a hike up to Hawk Mountain in Duncannon. It's less than a mile to the top

After our hike, we went to Aldi to get everything we needed for chicken noodle soup and mayo free chicken salad. Then when we got home, we realize our chicken wasn't completely thawed. So I had to run all the way to Wegman's to get chicken.

Wegman's is my HELL.

I was really annoyed. By the time I got home, I was so tired and angry that I didn't feel like lifting anymore. All I wanted to do was relax and cook. I ended being in a pissy mood for the rest of the day. I did make some yummy food.

For some reason, I got up really early... 5am! (But it felt like 6am so technically not as impressive! I made dough the night before so I poured myself a cup of coffee and started making Christmas sugar cookies!

I cleaned the whole house, did all the wash and the dishes. I was basically a bad ass all morning! Then I ran 8 miles!

That afternoon, my mom, SIL, and baby nephew went to see Joe Biden rally in Harrisburg for Hillary and Katie McGinty! It was so inspiring. Joe is a great speaker and he really reiterated how important this election is, and how literally THE WORLD looks to America. I will write more about this FREAKING AMAZING EXPERIENCE on Thursday.

JOE AND BABY CLARK!!!!

When I got home, I ate my face off!!! And right now I am so hype from the rally! AAAAHHHHH! I will never sleep tonight...
Have you ever gone to a political rally?
Did you cook up anything good this weekend?
What did you do with the "extra" hour?

  1. Christmas cookies already?! That scares me because I haven't even started to think about the holidays...but they do look really good! I spent my extra hour drinking coffee on the couch on Sunday morning:)

  2. What a fun weekend! I haven't been to a political rally but think it would be a very cool experience. I cooked a lot this weekend and spent the extra hour at the grocery store at 5 AM getting everything (except veggies and potatoes) for our Thanksgiving feast. Only a little over 2 weeks and I am super excited...it's my favorite!

    1. It was very cool. We were such a polite crowd. We listened intently and were quiet, not a whole lot of "rally cries" going on you know? I love Thanksgiving too!!! I love seeing my family and eating yummy food.

  4. I was awake at 5 too, so that extra hour is a myth! A lie! And Allie didn't even wake me up, it was all me.

  5. What a fun weekend! Clark will need that picture framed!

I'm ashamed to say that we went to a small rally back in 2011, but I'm embarrassed to say for who. I wasn't there to support him, only because my ex took my son.

  6. I have been to a few political rallies on both sides (when I was in college, I interned at our communications department so I went to Obama rallies and McCain rallies. I really enjoyed them, everyone was civil and nice for both sides and I liked that. This election is so different than 2008's...

Your cookies look so yummy! It sounds like you had a really great and productive weekend.

  7. Yes! Don't deny yourself or you will want them more. If you crave it, have a little bit.

  8. When I realized that I had gained an hour, I went out for a run! My alarm clock automatically sets the time, so I had forgotten all about the time change. (until I read about it on Facebook)
Check you out - making Christmas cookies!! I'm anti-Christmas before Thanksgiving, so you wouldn't catch me doing that... but I applaud your efforts! They look good :)

    1. I definitely understand being anti Christmas before Thanksgiving. I try to only do Christmas-y things that affect me before Thanksgiving. Like making cookies. :) Though I did give some to my neighbor, but who is going to deny free cookies that happened to be shaped like christmas trees and stockings? :)
