I'm really enjoying shooting the shit with you this week!

Hey! I am really enjoying just shooting the shit with you all every day! I may skip Runfessions tomorrow and just do an off the cuff post again! We'll see!

I was so tired when I got up Wednesday morning. I knew it was going to be a challenging work day. I had a full schedule filled with several classes with behavior issues. I figured the one thing that could get me hyped to take on the day was a longish run. I set my alarm a little early and got in 8 miles.

It was cool and foggy out. Overall, I felt good. I did blow up a port o john in a nearby park. Boy did that "feeling" creep up on me at just the right time!

On my way to work, I took a back road shortcut and saw 3 deer! It was a mom and two fawns. I saw the same deer on the road last week. Today they were standing on the side of the road. Sometimes I drive a little fast but ever since I saw those deer I have vowed to be very cautious on that road!

I always listen to podcasts in the car. Today I listened to a podcast where Tim Gunn was the guest. I love his voice so much. It is very pleasing to my ear. There are many celebrities that have pleasing voices and I like hearing them in my headphones... Terry Gross, Martha Stewart, Jeff Ross, Jane Fonda... just to name a few!

Just as I suspected, work was extremely challenging. Oh, if I could only tell you the stories! Alas, I can't. But if you're a teacher or a parent, I'm sure you can imagine the stories I could tell!

On my way home from work, I stopped at Michael's craft store to get my niece a birthday present. My SIL recommended that I get her some craft supplies. I had no idea what kind of craft supplies to get a 4 year old! This is what I ended up getting her:

When I was a kid, this was our Snapchat!

It looks like a lot, but I spent $12.01. Since we don't have kids, we like to spoil our nieces and nephews at birthdays and Christmas.

I had so much fun wrapping her presents when I got home. It got me thinking that Christmas is CREEPING UP FAST!!!! I freaking LOVE Christmas! I have a cat named Christmas!

Speaking of my kitty Christmas, he got some poop on his butt and hid under our bed in shame because he didn't want to get a bath. But the inevitable happened, and Paul had to wash his booty.

Oh, in Paul news, he is on a DIET. Yes, I got permission to tell you this. He told me the news as soon as I got home, but I would have noticed anyway because he put some reminders on the fridge and the pantry...

He is hardcore! Okay, so Paul eats really healthy, but he has a habit of snacking late at night, even when he isn't hungry. I get it, snacking is fun! But he really just wants to cut out that mindless snacking. And since he's a young guy that's probably all he has to do and he will get the results he wants.

Don't you hate how easy it is for guys?????

Hey, I hope your week is going well! I'd love some feedback on my posts this week. Do you mind if I am just babbling? Do you like the posts I schedule in a very thought out way? Or do you not care at all? I am going to be honest... I do enjoy the babbling!

Do you ever run longer because you know you are going to have a tough day and you want the extra endorpins?

Do you like wrapping presents? It is one of my favorite things to do! I actually wrap presents for my friends during the holiday season!

Are there any celebrities who's voices you really enjoy hearing?

  1. I've been wanting to go to Michaels and get some fall home decor. I've been waiting till it wasn't 80 degrees out to decorate for fall..lol. I think today is definitely a fall welcome with this dreary weather!

You know I will read your blog no matter what you talk about!

  2. I could listen to Matthew McConaughey all day. It may be the Texas twang. And Julie Andrews. Her voice is very soothing.

  3. I have enjoyed your daily Days in the Life post! I like seeing how other people stay busy on their days.

I love Alan Rickman's voice!! I listen to random interviews of him, just because I love his voice! I love Harry Potter, but I hate watching the movies, and when he died, I watched 3 of them, just to hear his voice. I also love Benedict Cumberbatch's voice, Jim Dale and the Ruben Blades singing voice.

Tim Gunn has a very soothing voice, the other day he was being interviewed by NPR and he almost made me forget I was mad at him.

We need to have a Christmas gift wrapping party! I LOVE wrapping presents!! it's my absolute favorite thing to do for Christmas!!I wrap ALL my Christmas presents and if given the chance, I wrap my sister's presents for the rest of the family too.

    1. Why are you mad at Tim Gunn??? Give me the scoop! I have never heard of any of the other soothing voice people you have mentioned. I love DITL posts too and I can't wait to read yours at lunch! Wow we are so alike in our love of wrapping and our love of Christmas! I would totally wrap presents with you this December!

    2. Well, first he was on Fashion Police, and I hate how they put down women based on their outfits. And then, he called Emily Ratajkowski's dress vulgar, and I just hate when men criticize women's choice of clothing. I'm over it now, bc their whole world of fashion is not something tangible for me to stay angry at for too long, it's just not worth it.

We will have a taco/ gift wrapping party this fall!

    3. OKAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)

Was he just a guest on FP? I have to admit I liked that show. :)

I think I found the dress he was talking about being vulgar! Okay, it is a little risque but why do people care about nudity!!?? It's like I hate when people are so worried about there being nudity or sex in movies but not worried about VIOLENCE.

  4. I freaking love Paul. And I knew you'd do the cat lady filter! It's the best! And I did something wrong when I viewed your snap yesterday morning. Maybe I got a text or something and then the screen went black and I couldn't go back to it! I missed the whole thing! So if you're wondering why I didn't reply, that's why. I love the name Ellie. SO MUCH. If I had a daughter, I'd name her that. Or Lily.

    1. You know what I don't even remember what I sent you! I am sorry. I'll make up for it today. :) Her full name is Ellianna but Ellie for short. Sister's name is Clementine which I think is the absolute best name in the world!!!!

  5. Go Paul! Tell him he's got this--make the diet his bitch!! As always, I love your blog posts whatever style! British accents always get me. I will agree w/ Anna L by saying Alan Rickman which is sad because what a loss, right?!? I also don't mind Liam Neeson & Emma Thompson (in addition to all those you mentioned above!). I hope today is a better day for you....almost the weekend girl!

  6. Oh, I could swap stories with you! When you work with parents and kids, a day doesn't go by where I say that I couldn't make any of this stuff up. People are really crazy. I will share with you that the most recent craziness was a mom refusing to get some tests for her daughter, telling me that she believes in God and that God will heal her daughter.

    Ok then.

    1. Oh nooooo. :( Why, if they really believe God will heal their child, can't they look at it as God enabling us to study the science that will heal their child?

  7. When I run in the AM I can't run longer for extra endorphins because I don't have time! I get up exactly when I need to for running and not a minute sooner, because F that. I do always have a little bit of time so I could probably squeeze in another mile but I refuse to because I HATE feeling rushed.

I'm glad you're back in a running groove. After reading your blog when you're training and when you're not, you always seem so much happier when you're just running for fun with no goal in mind (not to mention I admire your ability to get up that early to run when you don't have to!). Your love of running really comes through in these posts!

    1. Well if I want to run longer, I have to set my alarm for earlier, which is what I did on this day. But like you, I set it for just enough time to do what I need to do. I am not one to piddle around in the morning. I would rather get the extra sleep.

I do love running a lot!

  8. I am glad you had a good run this morning! Was it raining? It rained here and I thought of you. I was like, well, Karen said it was going to rain. :)

  9. YES! I love wrapping presents (most people hate it)... :) and also yes, sometimes I run longer (mostly when I am properly pissed about something ;))

  11. LOL! The DIET signs are so funny!!!! It's so true - men barely have to do ANYTHING to see results. He'll lose the weight he's looking to lose in no time. I love that you finish your posts with Snap filters!!!
