Fun with Snapchat!

Did I tell you I got a smartphone?

I'm going to tell you 5 times a day, just to make sure you know.

I'd like to say I am methodically learning how to use all of my phone's features, but that would be a lie. I am basically addicted to Scrabble and Snapchat.

Just indulge me. Pretend I'm you're 85 year old grandma who is now just experiencing this amazing technology!

Then Paul got in on the action...

I have always liked men in eyeliner. I blame my years in community theater for that one.

Face swap. It's funny how normal looking we are but when we swap faces... damn, we ugly!

I tried to use Snapchat with the kitties but it didn't work. I guess it only recognizes human faces?

Happy Sunday, ya'all!
What app do you use the most on your phone for "serious" stuff?

What do app do you use for "silly" stuff?

Recommend and app for me! Something that will change my life the way Snapchat did!

  1. Honestly, I mostly just use Facebook and Instagram. I do love Strava and I log all my running/training on there. I'd recommend that one.

The most serious app I use is My Fitness Pal, but I'm pretty lax with using it lately and my body is showing it (goodbye, racing weight!).

    1. My brother and my dad use strive for running and biking. I know you can see other people's workouts and people can see your's. Do you have to share your stuff?

  2. I use instagram the most! Oh and of course Blogger and Bloglovin is convenient to read your favorite list of blog but I rarely use that as much cus I can do everything with Blogger instead (but it's still good to have). I have not entered the world of snap chat and probably won't because I don't need one more thing and I really don't understand it. But then again, that's what I said about Twitter (which you should get too) and everything else..lol. So is snap chat just a way to put silly pics together?

    1. I have been havingoing fun reading blogs on my phone via blog loving! I think snap chatted from what I gathered is for sending out pics that disappear after a couple seconds. This is going to sound silly but I am going to need to read about snap and insta so I can sort of get a better idea of exactly what I am supposed to be using themy for...

  3. Those pictures are HILARIOUS! So funny. My phone is used for a lot of email, texting of course. I am not into Snapchat but love Instagram (it's a much more positive vibe than FB). Finally, I use FB (wish I could break up w/ FB but addicted), IMDB (duh), ESPN (sports fan!) and Netflix (I can watch documentaries while still in bed, on my lazy days when I don't work out). And that is kind of it. I bring up Google via Chrome browser a lot to find out answers to random questions I think throughout the day.

  4. I don't use Snapchat--it's just one more platform I have to manage! I use Instagram and am actually liking that way better than FB. I have a lot of fun with photo filters. One of my faves is Snapseed, which is a google app and is free.

    1. I know you are very good at instagram. I am halfway signed up for it. Snap chat I don't see myself like actually sending pics out. But who knows. For now I am just saving them to my phone.

  5. I love snapchat :) I just followed you but I don't see your snaps! I hope I followed the right running meg! haha

If you don't have the Google Photos app I would highly recommend it! You can adjust the settings so it automatically backs up all of the photos you take on your phone to your regular Google Photos account. This is great for bloggers because you don't have to email yourself the photos you took on your phone. Instead they instantly appear in your regular Google Photos account so you can just save and plop them into a post! Plus you then also don't have to worry about losing any irreplaceable photos. That's important to me since I consider ever single one of the 10 million photos I've taken of Cecil to be irreplaceable :).

    1. I am not sure I actually sent put any snaps. I'm not sure I know how to do that yet . So far I just save them on my phone. Thank you for explaining Google photos to me. It sounds like a must for cat loving bloggers!!

  6. I haven't used Snapchat yet! My most used apps are Facebook, Bloglovin, Instagram, and mostly Words With Friends! My life changer was Cozi though, to that's to keep track of all of the family, and shopping lists. I have several apps to calculate paces (race calculator), Strava, workout apps... and Pokemon Go :) I'm glad you are having fun with your new technology!

    1. It's interesting to hear what different apps people find to be life changing! I have not done words with friends yet but I am sure I would like it since I am such a scrabble gal.

  7. Ja ja !! I love snapchat! Very funny pictures!

Serious stuff for my phone? My bank app, and npr.

I also love google photos, it backs up all my picture, which makes it so much easier for the blog. And favorite social media- Instagram. I barely post on FB.

    1. I will have to look into Google photos since you and Kristina both recommended it. It sounds like people are way more into install than fb....

  8. It sounds like install is a must for me since everyone loves it. I am so old school as I still like fb! Though one of my piano students said fb is out and instal is in!!

  9. Instagram is what I mostly use. I also am obsessed with Tumblr, like a 16-year-old girl and I use Strava daily for my runs. You figured out Snapchat! I have no clue how to use it. I am such an old fogie. I also have the Facebook app, the Bloglovin' app, and my email that I use almost daily.

  10. I don't think I can recommend anything serious except maybe the weather app. Haha! Glad to see I'm not the only kook messing around on SnapChat!

  11. We actually did use Snapchat on my grandparents this weekend and it was hilarious. Face swapping freaks me out SO much, but I've seen people do it with animals and inanimate objects, so I know it can be done!

The deer filter is so cute.

  12. A friend of mine convinced me to download instgram even though I'm a big Facebook fan. I was reluctant, but it's all she used to update people on her life anymore, so I kind of wanted to stay in touch with her, you know? And now I'm obsessed. It's not even so much the filters...it's just an easy way to document your day or cool things going on, whereas Facebook is more about link sharing than picture sharing these days.
