I SUPPORT MARRIAGE EQUALITY!

I know this is not a political blog, and while it may be "taboo" to talk about certain subjects at the risk of not pleasing all of your readers and making everyone happy- TOO BAD!!! I am proud of who I am and what I believe. I don't mind shouting from the rooftops that I SUPPORT MARRIAGE EQUALITY!!!

Yesterday was a historic day for my home state, Pennsylvania! A federal judge issued his decision on Pennsylvania's ban on same-sex marriage. HE STRUCK THAT SHIT DOWN!!!!!!

You can read more about it here.

Seriously, folks. SERIOUSLY!

PA was the last state in the Northeast to join the Marriage Equality party. Better late than never, right? As it stands now, 44% of the U.S. population lives in a state with Marriage Equality. I am confident that it will not be long before it is 100%! There have been huge gains in this past year alone. Here is a state-by-state breakdown.

But until everyone has the freedom to marry who they love... let's celebrate the smaller victories!

CONGRATULATIONS, PENNSYLVANIA!!!!!

  1. Cheers to THAT! I agree and am a huge proponent to same sex marriage! I was so happy for one of my friends when they legalized it in Maine so she could actually get married in her home state!

  2. Yea, I just heard about that last night. I don't really follow stuff like that but it's nice for those people to legally be with the one they love.

  7. I'm with you! I've always been a supporter of equal rights across the board, but my brother-in-law is gay, so these days gay rights are definitely a soapbox issue for me. I hope Florida catches up...there's a surprising amount of open-minded old farts living here. We just have to get it on a ballot!

  8. I'm always surprised when I see news that a state has finally deemed that law unconstitutional. Like, oh that wasn't legal there yet? :) I'm so happy every time I hear the news that another state is on board. Marriage equality for everyone!

    1. I know, it is so archaic and embarrassing! Only 18 states permit it so we still have a ways to go...
