Thank you to Amanda @ Running With Spoons for this Thinking Out Loud link up! Sometimes my TOL posts are random thoughts and sometimes they have a theme.

Today's theme is....

I’m good at all kinds of things, but that is no fun to read about! Let me tell you all the things I SUCK at!

Fun fact: Paul came up w/ 2, 4, 6, & 8!! (It's okay, he speaks the truth!)

1.    Being patient. I feel like I am super patient in September, but somewhere around May, I start to lose it! I need time to recharge, so I am so thankful to have the summer off to do this!

2.    Any sport involving a ball. First of all, I hate sports anyway. I hate watching sports and I hate playing sports. It's not that I'm not coordinated because I am a pretty good dancer. I just can't manage balls...

3.    Relaxing. Even when I'm watching Dr. Phil, I'm also doing something else... folding laundry, blogging, checking email...

Jelly could teach me a thing or two about relaxing...

4.    Dealing with road rage. I swear and talk a lot of smack in the car.

5.    The trumpet and other high brass instruments. When I was at college, the trombone and baritone came very easily to me. But when I switched to high brass, I was terrible. I could not get my embouchure tight enough.

1994 in middle school marching band.

6.    Unclenching my right butt cheek while driving. I don’t know why, but I have a weird habit of doing this while I drive. I usually don’t even notice it unless I am on a long car trip or something.

7.    Answering my phone. I never answer my phone, I would much rather text! The only people I automatically answer for are Paul, my parents, and my brother. Sorry everyone, now the truth is out! But I do answer texts right away, as long as I have my phone on me.

8.    Focusing on only doing one thing at a time. It's like I have 20 Google Chrome tabs open in my head all the time.

9. Returning library books on time. I don't know why I procrastinate so much, but I do!

I just picked this one up and it's a PAGE TURNER!

Tell me something you suck at!

  1. This made me laugh so hard!!

I used to work in a library... and I still couldn't return books on time. I had library fines at the library I worked at, how pathetic is that!

  2. You speak my mind. I also suck at 1,3,4,7,8 & 9. I should add anything where I need the slightest sense of coordination/ balance and admitting that I am tired even if it only takes about 30 sec until I'll fall asleep. Love that post!

  3. "I just can't manage balls..." <-- TWSS... sorry, I couldn't resist ;) But this post seriously had me laughing out loud. #6... really?! Lol that's probably one of the most random things I've ever heard :D And I can totally relate to being horrible at answering the phone. I'll literally sit there staring at my cell while it rings, and wait for it to stop so I can text the person back and ask them what they wanted lol.

    1. Yah, talking on the phone is just too much pressure! I hate the "text trap"... when someone texts you so you reply right away- THEN they call you because they know you are available. Hate that. As for the butt cheek, it is quite odd, I know!

  4. Yup, i'm the same way. I'd rather answer a text than talk on the phone!

  5. i suck at sweeping/moping/vacuuming my floors in a timely fashion. this is disastrous because i have a toddler. so not only is he spreading stickiness everywhere always...but then he is crawling around licking things off the terrible floors. sigh.

  6. I'm bad about the books too. Why is it so hard? The library is two blocks away!

  7. I also never talk on the phone. I have to sometimes for work, and I hate it! I would much rather text or E-mail all the time.
I am also guilty of doing many things at once. I always have like 15 tabs open at once:)

    1. I'm a teacher and I avoid the phone at work at all costs. I email parents, no calling! That is too nerve wracking!

  8. Ha great list. I suck at listening to Mrs Schlub. Majority of the time she is RIGHT and I should just go with it but my instinct is to do it my way. But I'm getting better. ..I think lol

  9. Haha I suck at ALL of these too - actually, may be not the butt cheek one, but I can't drive so I don't know if I would... yeah the one time I was behind the wheel I drove into a field, so I'll say driving as the thing I suck at!

    1. LOL maybe I shouldn't laugh at you driving into a field but the way you said it is funny! :)

  10. The first time Adam and I drove together he was shocked at how much I curse at the other drivers. I think he finds it delightful though because he pretty much lets me drive everywhere despite my constant rage ;)

I suck at making appointments and keeping them. I'm constantly rescheduling things... I even woke up this morning wanting to reschedule my doctor appointment for tomorrow, but since I need to get back to running I decided to keep it. The things I do for running!

  11. I think we may be the same person. I suck at all these things, too. And I'm evidently a 12-year-old because I giggled at "I can't handle balls."

  12. I can never return library books either! I wish they had a text messaging app to remind me. The e-mail thing just isn't working out.

  13. Mystery breakers are the WORST! I'm with you :)

  14. Hahahaha so many truths here- I am TERRIBLE with library books, even with the associated fines. And the damn text thing- always always always. Speaking is overrated.

  15. LOL...this is an awesome post and for some reason I can relate to so many! Especially the telephone one. I only answer to Matt, my parents and sisters! Too funny :D

  16. I know a lot of people who don't answer their phones. I would rather talk on the phone than text...opposites! lol :)
    Hope you are doing well!

  17. Hahaha I clench my LEFT butt cheek when I'm driving. Probably because I'm left handed. I also clench my teeth ALL the time and don't realize I'm doing it. JP's always calling me out on it and telling me if I don't stop I may not have any teeth left!

    1. I am left handed too! The right butt cheek (for me) is due to right foot on gas pedal hehe.

  18. Hhaha I'm SO bad at returning my library books on time. So bad. Also bad at only doing one thing at a time. Multitaskers for lifeeeeee!

  19. I'm totally with you on being bad at relaxing or only doing one thing at a time. Making dinner? Also putting away dishes and cleaning out the fridge. TV time = twitter time or laundry time. I love when I can force myself to be lazy and sleep in or just veg but it is so hard to let myself do it!

  20. Haha this is the best! I'm also bad at answering the phone, I hate talking on the phone so I almost never answer unless I absolutely have to. I just got a library card so I'll probably be sucking at returning books on time soon enough!
